He could have talked about how he resolved things with Sasuke, how he worked with other nations and Kages to start ending the cycle of hatred. How he had achieved recognition from his friends (cue scenes of stupid pairings to set up the next ten fics), and finally, how he achieved his dream (cue scene in front of Konoha, being recognized by everyone, with his closest friends beside him—Shika, Sasuke, Sakura—as he was named Hokage). Finally, he'd tell his mom that he finally found a girl like her, and a pregnant Sakura would step up next to him and remind him for the Gokage meeting. End manga. Tears from fans across the world.

You guys are the best for liking my alternate ending, even if the post was mangled thanks to autocorrect.

 

It'd still give you plenty of ways to do a series of images of the Konoha rookies, the old kages, the new ones, etc. But hey(!) it'd actually have the hero get the closing words.

Now ppl brought up the fact that it symbolises the red string of fate between Naruto and Sakura. Then some NH fans kept saying that in the trailer it snaps.

 

The thing about the idea around the red string of fate in eastern asian culture is that the string NEVER breaks. It can stretch and tangle. But it NEVER breaks.
