QUOTE (ciardha @ Jun 23 2010, 12:25 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
It was significant- not only was she not blushing and averting her eyes, but she stares at him as if she's not liking the real Naruto that much. She doesn't understand or like his bond to Sasuke and his concealing what he is planning to deal with Sasuke, remember she voted for Sasuke's death with no qualms and stared at Ino's sobbing reaction to the vote results completely uncomprehendingly. Hinata also said nothing in defense of Naruto when the others were arguing with him- she just continued to stare at him unhappily.

In the same scene Sakura tells a white lie to keep the others from being even more angry at Naruto- she states Madara was there all along, when actually he didn't show up until the end of this encounter with Sasuke.

I agree ciardha if Kishi wanted N/H he would have make Hinata tried to defend Naruto or making her think about him but none of the above happened it was Sakura the one who tried to defend Naruto from having the rookies getting upset with him and that's no all she thought to herself that he could be hiding something.

This is the most important thing that the N/H fandom has to understand about their pairing. Hinata doesn't know Naruto she barely knows him, she does know he's hardworking and he was lonely when he was little but after that she doesn't know anything about him. There's no strong development or bond forgning between them, the only person who knows Naruto better than anyone better than Hinata is Sakura. Hinata doesn't understand how much Sasuke matters to him, she doesn't know how deep his bond for him really is or even his bond with his team while Sakura does know and understand him because she feels the same way about her bond with her team and Sasuke.

CYLCE!! Also Graven that sentence is a double negative, doesn't know nothing indicates she knows more then nothing.

I doubt that scene meant that Hinata is not liking the "real" Naruto. The topic is a difficult one--she's not going to be smiling and all supportive. If she's more than simply a love interest, and heaven forbid her character have some depth, she may be thinking on the consequences. As a clanhead, she should be doing more than stand there, look pretty, and let other clansmen take care of her. Everyone is under threat from the Akatsuki, including her family. Wouldn't she be slightly concerned and serious about what is going on? What I really don't like is when people analyze every expression, every possible word, to try to justify a pairing. Her expression in that scene suited the mood. More significant is what did not happen--which is that Naruto did not approach her. The confession scene was only touched upon once, and that was grouped in with Sakura's scene when Naruto hurt her.

You gotta give Kishimoto credit. Usually, confessions lead to some sort of pairing conclusion. Kishimoto gave Naruto two confessions and the pairings have yet to be resolved. That is both infuriating and fascinating. XD

But here's the thing, Kishimoto isn't focus on her POV. Right now, as you said, Hinata is now acting like a background character, doesn't have anything to say unless she needs to.

While talking about the confession resolutions, there's basically no point of NaruHina to continue. If it was continuing/resolve, shouldn't Kishimoto gave Hinata the chance to hug Naruto after the Pain Invasion, instead of Sakura (while giving me and the rest of us NaruSaku lovers a big heart attack and scream our butts off, ranting and bashing Kishimoto, etc.)?! Everyone just wants words coming from the person's mouth to confirm about the situation. But most of the time, it doesn't work, actions and expressions does. I'm positively unsure if Hinata moved on, but seeing and smiled the way Naruto was affectively hugged by Sakura sure said that she's happy that Naruto "probably" (we're not that canon, yet) has an a significant other.

I know he isn't, but I was just offering another possibility for her expressions when Naruto came back to Konoha and was talking about Sasuke. Her expression that wasn't so cheerful, and the fact that she didn't jump in to defend Naruto, is not in my opinion because she doesn't like the "real" him, but rather because the situation is serious. I would hope that if she were given a P.O.V during that scene, it would be thinking of the situation and what it can mean for her family.

XD I just made the comment that Kishimoto took an interesting spin on love confessions. We all thought that they would result in outright acceptance or denial, thus one pairing "losing" or "winning". Yet in both situations, they weren't addressed properly. Some of us are in debate whether Sakura's words were true or not, and Naruto has yet to formally reject address Hinata's confession, if he ever does. I agree that having her look at Naruto and Sakura hugging with a fond expression maybe she doesn't expect him to love her back, and is happy for him.

I didn't mind NaruHina until Kushina's story... to make those obvious parallels and then switch to another girl just doesn't seem like good writing :/

No, headaches, painful painful headaches. Maybe if they care about Hinata the way they showed in the anime they should probably add another filler piece to that section of the smile at Sakura's hug.

Lets face it that bully crap lost me, because it's more likely to happen to Sakura and shows the incompetence of the Hyuga. I could see Hinata saying, "It was always her, wasn't it?"

Oh there will be commotion alright, it will always be there. What do you think will happen when the NruSaku hug scene is animated? The same will happen, it's just the sides that will change. Nothing more. sigh The wheel of hatred spins once again.

HI EVERYONE! wow.png

So - debating about...? Hinata/Sakura/Naruto? Ah, I see. Well, in my personal opinion I believe that Hinata is (maybe) getting over Naruto [I mean the girl used to stalk him O.o] because the smile she gave Sakura/Naruto when they hugged seemed like she understood them. Like she just wants Naruto to be happy with who he wants... Sorry, so so tired. XD

Its just a coincidence Hinata is not the only character he has drawn on manga chapter covers. He always draws characters like the rookie nine, Akatsuki among others.

nah not really. Sometimes the covers do preview but the majority of the time its just coincidental.
