I really don't know how to feel about this anime. I really like it but at the same time a part of me kinds of wish I never watched it lol. The ost is amazing and so is the animation. Be warned it is one heck of a tearjerker.
That anime! Oh gosh I really really wanna watch it, but I got many things I wanna catch up on T-T
I only watched some of the first episode. The animation is so so perfect And saw some gifs of the girl with blonde hair playing violin, lol I love violin since it's the first instrument I ever played. And I heard it was gonna make the watcher cry T_T

Watch it!! When you have the time watch it and tell me what you think. Yeah its pretty emotional but at least you know what you're in for.
Great DBZ movie but this story doesn't add anything new to the series nor is it anything new plot-wise. It's basically a a reason to fight that results in an awesome fight. The story follows a resurrected villain from Goku's past as he tries to exact revenge on our hero and his friends and family. The film, I believe is tied as the longest dbz film clocking in at about an hour and a half. This longer time frame is awesome because it gave them time to give us a little catch up with some of our favorite characters, notably my personal favorite non-saiyan, Krillen and his wife 18.
The plot isn't all that important as this is dbZ and the action has always been the main star of that series. Fans will be excited to know that the action is amazing. It's playing in theaters now and if you can I'd recommend going to see it there. Hearing the thunderous blows in the theater actually added to the ferocity of the battles. Kudos to the sound design. There's also a lot of funny moments that were awesome to share with fellow fans. A crowd favorite was a new character Jaco, who has his own one-shot manga explaining how he knows the Briefs and re-imagning Goku's origin.
I wish this was a series and not a movie. You don't always have time for some explanations. Most notably, the new Super Saiyan form presented. It is just suddenly a thing and new look that Goku has. I know that DB Super is running right now and is retelling/ re-imagining the events of Dragon Ball Battle of the Gods, I hope they visit this movie too so we get to experience reaching this form.
I had a great time at this movie but there are some things that really irked me about this film. And as a fan or even not as a fan this will make or break the film for you if you can/can't go along with it. The examples do deal in spoiler territory so, you've been forewarned.
irksome things
First issue is the difference in animation styles during Goku's battle with Frieza. It goes from awesome anime style to something that looks like they took the animation out of a DBZ video game cutscene. Weird, cell-shaded, hard-polygonal edges. I didn't like it.
There are large and illogical inconsistencies with power levels in this film. I'm not a power level readings otaku, but you have Roshi fighting people who are able to do damage to Krillin/ Piccolo/ and Gohan... Tien shows up and makes a comment about leaving Yamaha and Chaotzu behind because they're too weak to fight. Why didn't he facepalm when Krillin brought Master Roshi? Is he stronger than Yamaha is when they fight the Androids? Don't get me wrong. I love Master Roshi and seeing him fight again was awesome, but he's been nowhere near the regular Z teams league since Evil King Piccolo. He should be a smear on the floor in this fight.
At another point, Piccolo has issues defeating someone who was describe by one of the main villains as being as powerful as Zarbon and Dodoria in their prime. This either means that in their prime Zarbon and Dodoria were a match for stage 3 Frieza, or Piccolo is weaker than Vegeta was before fighting Recoom. This is made worse by the fact that Gohan has to turn Super Saiyan to put an end to that fight.
The second to last biggest issue is one that you have to kind of go with in order for the film to happen is the fact that Frieza is able to power up well beyond Super Saiyan God in four short months. Ridiculous. Not only that, he's stronger than Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan. The only reason he loses is because he's not used to his new form.
Last, the biggest one, Goku is taken out by a simple laser beam...
Lastly, they seriously should've just called it Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection. Bam, mysterious and pertinent without sounding stupid or like an innuendo.

Put bnha on top of your list. You won't regret it. Right now I'm currently watching Food Wars and Snow White with Red Hair. I've seen a couple of episodes of Charlotte but lost interest, maybe one day I'll continue it. With manga its Black Clover, bnha, Nisekoi, and One Piece (it will take a while to catch up to that one).
FORGOT. I'm also reading Fuuka and Tokyo Ghoul. Shame on me for forgetting TG.

I'll read BnHA after Gintama >.<. Ah you are watching Food wars and Snow white with the red hair, watching those animes too:D You should join us in the thread :)
I'm watching Charlotte too, it's great, but I'm watching PA. works other anime: Angel beats and I gotta say that Angel beats is far more interesting. I hope Charlotte will be more interesting soon.
I read Black Clover, but I dropped it, same with One piece.
Oh gosh TG is such an amazing series, it's getting more popular!
Baccano -- 9/10; I really love this one. It was completely entertaining, filled with Ryohgo Narita's very unique, outlandish, twisted, and all together likable characters. The plot is also well executed, with a lot of surprising twists.
Pandora Hearts -- 7/10; I decided to watch this again for old times' sake, since it's been about five years. The reason for the lower rating is my inability to stop myself from comparing it to the manga. My main issue is the pacing -- ten episodes just to cover about twelve chapters. It's much too dragging, in my opinion. And the animation, while not bad, definitely doesn't do justice to Mochijun's art. I don't think I'll ever stop hoping for this to get a remake. The manga really deserves it.
Interests:Guilty Gear, Basketball, Futbol, and writing.

Glad you liked Baccano :3 Make sure to watch the specials if you haven't done so yet.

“The country? The skies? You can have them! I'm busy enough protecting what's in front of me. I don't know how many times I failed to protect what I wanted. I have nothing left, so at least if something has fallen at my feet, I'll pick it up."

Is Gintama really that good? I'm guessing that's what on top of your list. Also Black Clover is getting better now but I understand why some might not like it.

Gintama really isn't for everyone. It's incredibly slowpaced and requires patience from many of the newcomers. There aren't many battles going, but once it gets serious, these arcs are fortissimo! Other than that, you just have to sit back and enjoy the ride with Gintama. It's a parody, a comedy, and s dirty series that gives you a glimpse into the daily lives of the Japanese people from the 19th century after aliens have invaded the earth.
There is no series like Gintama.

Really? By the way some describe it I thought it would hook the viewer in right away. I guess its not for me. I have dropped many series because of my lack of patients lol. Like hunterxhunter for example. I've seen a couple of episodes and yeah its pretty slow. When exactly does it start to pick up?

It honestly depends...Some were hooked in from the start, for some it was after 30 episodes when most of the main cast was introduced, and for many others it wasn't until episode 58 or so, when the first serious arc started. My tip: Watch the second movie of Gintama. It'll give you a glimpse of what Gintama is like, both comedic and dramalike wise ;)
Where did you leave off with HxH? It's also slow in the beginning, I admit that.

Oh... Well, I remember when I was watching the Hunter Exam... Wasn't the greatest thing on earth for me, lol. Hope you pick it up one day again though. To me, it's one of the best battle shounens out there. It feels childish in the beginning, so for many it didn't get good until around the Yorknew City arc.

Different opinions on Gintama. I personally loved it from the start. One of the most different but good shounens ever! And yeah, right now it's the manga I wanna catch up too the most >.<

Well I spied on the HxH thread and saw that Chunin exam is taken from The Hunter Exam arc. Meaning that one of Kishi's best arcs just is copied.... Well I can wait to start HxH, I'm ready for more Killua moments
