Nah, Iruka always had the scar from the very beginning of the manga.   He even had it when he was young, you can see it in his flashbacks of his youth!

If I recall correctly, there was a character interview of Iruka.  He was asked how he got that scar, and he said something like "I got it in a great battle, it's quite a story! ...Oh, you can tell I'm lying?"

So it seems he may have got the scar OUTSIDE of a battle, maybe an accident?

Well, the interviews can be found in the scanlations of the Naruto manga. Toriyama's World has the translated extras in their scanlations, and you can also find them in the official English Naruto volumes!

I need to figure out which chapter I saw the "character interviews" in... it was just an humourous extra, but there were some interesting answers! Sasuke's interview had him musing about what Naruto's kiss tasted like, and he said Sakura was just a comrade/friend/sister.

heh i did that, i admit that i think narutohinata isnt gonna happen but has a small possibility if sakura is really in love wif sasuke, but hey i still love narutohinata

Of course, I have no problem with NH fans such as yourself! If only everyone could get on with each other, hehe. I'm not sure what is happening with Sakura (too early to tell, there is only a little info), but it does seem she is changing. After all, Kishimoto said in at least three interviews that Sakura's love for Sasuke is just a crush - the reason why she does everything she does is because she is not a selfish girl and has a Naruto-like devotion for something she thought was real.

I think Sakura's seen what both Sasuke and Naruto are really like. Heck, if she hasn't already figured out something was amiss with Naruto's Sasuke Henge (not necessarily realised the truth), I'll be very surprised!

As Mel (occasionalutopia) said at NarutoForums, if all the subtle build-up between Naruto and Sakura were to just develop into friendship (whereas NaruHina and S***S*** have remained strictly one-sided), that would be a hell of an anticlimax.

Three years is a lot of time for feelings to change, so anything can happen! Sakura could be missing Naruto a lot, Naruto might have decided to try and move on, Neji/Kiba could be shown feeling something for Hinata, and LeeTenten could be canon!

Hehe, I chose to ignore the S***S*** quotes - there's only so much b******t I can take.

We all know they just go off on a lot of assumptions with no evidence that things will go their way (as in S***S*** being canon). How did they last so long ignoring the fact Sasuke doesn't love her? O_o At least WE have the crystal clear hints that Sakura feels something for Naruto and is softening towards him.

Hell, I think the NaruSakuSasu triangle is probably going to be dumped in the second part. Why? Because not only has Sasuke gone (removing himself from the scene), he also rejected Sakura. Sakura has also seen what Sasuke and Naruto are really like and seems to be changing (you know all those hints in ch. 236).

If there's to be a triangle, I'm putting my money on SakuNaruHina. Of course, I would like it to be just SakuNaru/NaruSaku but I doubt Kishi will make it that easy for us. Of course, there is the chance that it could go like Ash's and InoFan's fics - Naruto and Sakura shown loving each other but unsure of how the other feels.

those theories could only come from an idiot. its like me saying its going to be the end of the world tommorow and when asked for evidence i point to the sky and explain that its just cannon so i cant be wrong.

It's not even theories, it's just stuff invented because they want S***S*** to be realized and be the best pairing in the whole wide world.
We all know that if theories doesnt work, they start changing everything and even start to invent stuff to try and destroy us even thought we dont need to invent. lol I also saw 109-110 again and i still dont understand how they say that the relation ended right there or there just friends thing... umm when Sakura realized that it was already Naruto that saved and cared for him, it was proof that it starting to not become one-sided like the other relation.

Edit: i just read that who will Naruto go to in the general section at narutoforum and haha you guys wrote too much text for them to understand i think lol and you can see that most of the other pairing just say and it was work and like uhh Naruto already has feelings for Hinata but ummm, i dont see it anywhere lol

Well, I added an even LONGER post to the Naruto's Heart thread. XD

I love it when you have an early debate - quite a few people are willing to listen to other views, and there is a lot of middle ground finding. The fanboys/fangirls don't really tend to come in until quite late it seems.

There was a Hinata fan there who made a pretty interesting post (interesting as in he/she actually agreed with some of our points and actually used the manga to provide points on why Hinata could also be a good choice for Naruto). It was really pleasing to be able to agree on some points and also provide why I thought NaruSaku was a better match!

I noticed that quite a few people think Sasuke will be redeemed and come back to Konoha - and they say that Sakura's the only girl who's been linked with him in a romantic sense even though he didn't love her. So that's why they think NaruHina S***S*** - because they think Sasuke will be OK in the end.

Of course, I disagree because he and Sakura share nothing in common... and Sasuke isn't guaranteed to be a good guy in the end - I have a feeling he'll either stay bad, get possessed by Oro or die.

I also explained why I thought that way in the pairings stake by explaining the little breadcrumb trails that Kishi leaves all over the series, not just limited to pairings. I'm not expecting the hardcores to pay any attention, but if it gets a few people thinking about the hints, that'll be good!

Wow. Theories. How nice. Sasuke loves Sakura, which is why he rejected her and called her annoying. If he really loves Sakura, shouldn't he try to kill her, if obtaining the Mange Sharingan requires killing a close friend?

The fans refuse to believe that Sasuke loves no one romantically (or he may love Naruto romantically, lol). What a sad thing.

What's more funny is they say that Sasuke has ALWAYS feelings for Sakura and is only hidding it until when Sakura gets attacked by someone and he shows up to save her then he reveals her feeling.. uh then they say that he will go back to good side and everyone in the Naruto world will be back to normal and it's like nothing happended lmao. When Sasuke left, everything changed, yet they say that if he changes, everything goes back to normal... how strange is that?

Yeah, back to normal. The normal way that Sakura obsseses over Sasuke and thinking that Naruto is an idiot, forgetting about her realizations. Things will never go back to normal for them. An amount of dislike for Sasuke has already been born in Sakura. An amount for love for Naruto has already been born in Sakura.

how come people say the curse seal manipulated him i see him in control just fine and when he seems crazy its only logical that he would use the momentary power boost to win.
