I like the fandom for this anime (except the shippers and Erina haters) but the fandom is like the Gintama fandom, more into story and expectation

Surprised? How can it be? This is the same audience that bashed Sakura to no end. Granted, she has more fault to poke on thanks to Kishi's bad writing, but the idea of tsundere to America is poison. Right, and our divorce rate is steady.

I feel like men in here are afraid for a sheer dominant by women like any small tiny bit of it. That's why USA is going through a movement of women being strong and equal. I guess teenagers are just becoming more immature...

I still remember thinking of going to talk in MAL until I saw one topic that NO ONE gave a good answer and all act like kitten. So I said, "Nope."

I'll seriously never understand how people can think Touka's behavior in that moment was "immature and offensive" in there eyes. Doesn't help that the translations for that chapter were wrong. She never said that he was "trash that should never return to Anteiku." But hey, no one dare defiling and lecturing the glorrious Kaneki

Not to mention Kaneki himself knows she was right. So who are you taking side? Nobody but your own ego? These guys could ruin anime/manga for good if every creators are "granting wishes."

I find this really confusing, you'd think the younger generation would be more about equal rights and prefer stronge women. Maybe there is a power struggle going on in schools today, and the male population is unsure of their social standing and are lashing out at strong female charactors. I don't know I'm thankfull no longer a teenager.

 

Though I do concede you are probably correct, I do remember asking my younger friend a few weeks back why he disliked Sakura and his answer surprised me, he said she reminded him of a snobbish popular girl from his high school that looked down at everyone because she was pretty and popular. This surprised me because this guy is really smart and usually really good and analysing charactors, (He knew Itachi was loyal to Konoha years before it was revealed) yet he completely got Sakura's charactor wrong. I did wonder how many other guys misinterpret Sakura in a similar fashion.

 

It's probably similar with Erina, they see a 2D Rich Ojou who looks down at the rest of the world because she's rich and talented, they don't don't see the softer side of her, the real her that cares deeply for her best friend, that socially awkward and puts up this facade to put up a barrier to overcome her lack of social skills.

Well I guess you can argue with Erina but say like in the end, it happen. People would be like "The kitten!" Same with Sakura, had it actually happen. At this point, you might as well only introduce one girl in the entire series. And maybe a very old lady. I do wonder how Fairy Tail got away with it though. Anyway, the point is men can't feel "weak" and must be dominant 100%. Not even for laughs.

The funny thing is the girl that is shy or weak only to get strong by the man usually more of a sister kind of character. Heck, that's what I see in Megumi, even though she is falling for him, but it most likely a plot use whenever the time come. Wendy already confirmed to be sister love, so it ends. Hinami from TG confirmed to be sister love, so it ends. Hinata, realistically speaking, supposed to be that but thanks to fans, it went beyond that and somehow made us think, "Who's the protagonist?" Shounen don't really do this and that's why it lost people train of thought on how it even happen.

I'm not saying those girls can't go to romantic love and win it, but this is Shounen. And even if it isn't, if there's already a main character/heroine, sense of purpose, or love interest, sister love is good enough.

Sorina? Wow, I am late. Didn't know it means Soma x Erina. Lol. Is this real? I still remember that ping pong game where Megumi is like a different character, so I guess the dark side could happen (?). I figured that Soma's mother is dead. I could imagine that she was a world to his father, hence the main driving theme in chapter 1 from him.

I'm always weary of posts like these when the original source is not linked. I'm not saying it's false but at the same time i'm not going to beleive it to be 100% accurate. Though it doesn't really tell us anything new. I do question it's accuracy as it confirms Souma's mother is dead, I'm not sure this would be something he'd confirm on Twitter when he eluded to it in the manga, and didn't even show her face in the family picture. There is a story there he wants to tell, and I'm not sure he'd give away any info on it before it's covered in the manga.

 

Also I really don't understand this new fad where the heroine is determined as the girl the MC ends up with. The heroine is the main Female lead, has nothing to do with love interest. Sakura was the main heroine because she was the main female lead, her status as Heroine was not attached to her ending with Naruto. Same way Erina is the Heroine in the manga, she may not end up as the main love interest, but she's the main female lead, thus making her the heroine. Nobody ever calls Ginny the Main Heroine in Harry Potter, everyone knows it's Hermione just because she ended up with the sidekick does not change that. I don't understand when the line between, love interest and Heroine became so blurred.
