Well yea she doesn't. The part that's questionable however is the fact that she was already shown to be shocked. But then she's given a second reaction to what was happening. Why? It could mean something. Or it could be here reacting the scene like you said. The thing is it would have made more sense to show her reaction when the dead comrades were shown rather than after Hinata was holding Naruto's cheek like that. But meh. I'd rather not dwell on this chapter too much because it wasn't that huge for me. I would have liked to see Team Gai's reactions instead but....ugh.

It could be meaningful that we see Sakura reacting. Kakashi was also reacting to the Hinata moment little before Sakura, though. He, too, was first seen shocked at Neji's death and later after Hinata slaps Naruto.

I miss Sasuke, but I don't know if I actually want to see him in the next chapter yet.

Qia, about Hinata's interest in Naruto just being platonic now? Just friends thing? Yeah, it's another possibility. The reason I'm not ready to call NH canon is that I want to see how Sakura reacts to NH and because I fear that Kishi will pull a final twist and show that Naruto was just being a friend to Hinata by holding her hand = cue NS.

Okay, so, to all of you who say that you don't view this chapter as a threat, and I guess to everybody else as well. I'm curious, what would you view as a threat then? NH kiss, surely? Naruto saying that he loves Hinata? Anything less than that? What development would be enough to convince you that NH is canon?

Concrete proof from Naruto that his feelings have changed. Whether that's a confession, or a hug, or a blush in response to her... That would be the only way for me to accept NH as a cannon pairing. I wouldn't like it at all, but it would be cannon in that case.

Well this is definitely the closest to Canon any pairing has been to date in this manga, And it's not because of her speech or anything like that, i've denied Hinata and Naruto's pairing till now mainly because Naruto has never shown any interest in Hinata, that's why I have felt like Naruto/Sakura was the best pairing because it was the only pairing where we were shown that both parties liked each other. This is the first time we've seen Naruto actually looking at Hinata, and holding her hand to show he might actually see her as more than a girl who acts wierd around him.

If that's what Kishi wants to do that, that's fine, I don't think he originally planned for this pairing but somewhere along the line looks like plans changed and he decided to make Hinata the main pairing (or atleast that's how it looks at the moment) My biggest gripe is still the same though, he has screwed up Sakura's development over and over again, and I think the least he can do is give her some proper development and show us why he chose her as the main heroine in the manga to begin with, Sakura is still the main Heroine in the manga by Kishi's own admission, so needs to do right by her charactor, if he insists on pairing her with Sasuke, then prove to us he actually deserves her, and show us why she actually likes that git, it pisses me off no end when an auther of any medium decides to make a pairing and not show us any real good reasons why the pairing exists, apart from the authers decision to pair them together. Kishi for the first time showed us a good reason why Hinata and Naruto would work, she grew a freaking backbone and managed to talk him out of his funk.

Maybe if she was shown reacting with Kakashi to the slap or right after him, like their shocked reactions before to Neji's death, then I might agree that it's just a reaction to the slap. But it could be something more. More of a reaction to the way they were interacting? She knows about Hinata's feelings so.

I doubt he'll make an appearance yet. But maybe later on. I want to see the plan happen first.

I don't know why people having a hissy fit that "OMFG!!!! NaruHina's Canon! NaruSaku's Dead! ABANDON SHIP!!! (Did someone posted the Bender vid of that yet? )

After reading it, I don't see it as a very MAJOR threat to this pairing. For once, finally its a Hinata moment, that (even though she's not my favorite character to know, like or read about, especially whenever she's near Naruto) Kishimoto finally, FINALLY giving her development that gave her a backbone at least. Not one of us couldn't see the fact that she actually slapped Naruto and with a good reason in fact. Especially in a very high, tense and dangerous atmosphere surrounding them, not to mention that her own cousin, Neji risked and sacrifice his life to protect both Naruto and her.

The only thing I didn't like was her thought panel on the second to last page: "Naruto's hands is so manly...." Oh boy... and this is going by mangastream's translation.

Will this be a major NaruHina moment? Yes, let that fandom rejoice with glee (even though it was more of Hinata moment.) Will it blow us NaruSaku-ers off the field to the abyss? HELL to the f-ing no!!! Watch when Naruto gives the final blow and the war ends with many casualities, the Juubi sealed once more (I hope), Obito's dead, and Madara is sent back to hell, never to be Edo-Tensei again, that is when we get a big, no, HUGE NaruSaku moment. Hoping for a kiss scene.

Actually no.. the next panel doesnt even show narutos arms raised even the slightest, the hand looks VERY feminine and the sleeve is exactly the same as hinatas, im 100% sure it is hinatas hand.

First: Agreed he completely screwed up but still have to see the rest of the battle.

Second: If he do, he will just force it down our throats because there's no reason sasuke didnt showed anything for her on that summit arc and tried to kill her two times, they do not deserve each other.

im really hoping that narusaku still has a chance to become canon and that something happens to hinata. i like hinata as a character but she is getting in the way of narusaku and must be punished for that. Sakura better get a huge scene and character development to show she is still the heroine of this series.

sorry but Kakashi was reacting to Obito's speech, not Hinata moment. Even after Hinata moment Kakashi wasn't showed, only sakura did.
