So in this week's episode, this is what I learned.

 

1. Alisa is strongest.

 

2. Higher-ups (including first unit of Far East Branch) are the only ones who know that lying is in order to keep hope alive, because there is no way that Aegis could possible protect them from the power that comes from the most powerful aragami (like the one we saw in episode 3).

 

3. There isn't enough resources for everyone, and so they must turn everyone new away and send them back into the world to die unless someone in their family can be trained to use God Arcs.

 

4. Not everyone can use God Arcs. That's why there is so many useless people crowding up the Branch. I always wondered why they weren't forced to work for their protection and to keep the world from not being completely taken over by the aragami.

 

5. Kota's mom is stupid. She didn't know her son was going to be a God Eater? Well woman... the reason he left to train everyday in their huge tower and had a God Arc, was so he would be assigned a unit one day, and be dispatched to fight as a God Eater. Then Kota didn't even bother to tell her he was leaving the next day. She probably cooked him breakfast in the morning, and he never came home. Like how was she supposed to know you were being dispatched so soon? At least tell her you're so strong you're in the strongest unit. Nobody dies in the first unit, and she'll stop thinking you're about to be put in a low rank unit and die in your first mission more than likely.

 

6. Cores are in certain aragami to make Aegis. The first unit's job is to get those.

 

7. Kota isn't a New-Type, so why is he put on the First Unit as a newbie? We know there are several units. Why wasn't he put on at least the 2nd unit first? He obviously isn't useful to them. Why does every "behind a wall to survive" anime have a guy like this? Armin for Attack on Titan, Yoichi for Seraph of the End, and this Kota guy for this show.

Armin is not useless. His strategic thinking is impeccable and while he exactly comes as a good-for-nothing character, he is important to the story no matter how you look at it.

 

This anime commends you to SI into the MC because it's as if you're watching somebody playing a game. If it weren't for the art I would have dropped this from the start. Also, the animation seems laggy?

I know Armin is useful. So is Yoichi. I worded that horribly. I'm just saying that there is always a main group being followed in these "behind the wall survival" anime that has that one wimpy guy. The problem with Kota, is that unlike Armin and Yoichi, he is completely useless. He doesn't have the best smarts, so his wimpy nature of being weak physically isn't made up for at all. To me he should of been a sniper/ranger or something. That's what happened to Yoichi. He picked the bow.

Damn... just... Got around watching episode 5 and 

 

My body wasn't ready for that. My mind wasn't ready. This escalated far more quickly than I expected. Talk about wreckage and ownage. Why are Soma and Lindow not there? Why are they doing missions on their own? I can't wait for next episode but apparently no new episode this sunday, again Like if it wasn't for the fact that I love the show I would be dropping it just because of the skipping weeks...

 

But still this episode was so good! I need all of this show OST out asap. That one song when everything was going down though. I still got the chills. Need OST.

My 3 biggest questions from this episode.

 

1. Why did the black one eat all the other giant ones? Rude. You can be alpha without doing that.

 

2. What was going on with Lenka's body with all those things starting to pulse through his body, and how come he was able to withstand so much? Almost cut in half and then stabbed through the body, and could still drag Alisa. Alisa is stronger than him, but took nowhere near as much damage as Lenka.

 

3. Biggest question. When Lenka begged for mercy from God, why did he spare him? I find it odd how they brought up that the world's energy was almost gone, and then the new Oracle cell could be another world crisis on top of that one. Now we found out an episode ago that these Oracle beast named Aragami have powerful mystical energy in them.

 

Deep Prediction: To me it seems like God is giving mankind a chance to prove itself worthy of survival. You could ask why he is being so cruel, but when you think about it, we are destroying our world more and more every year with sin and selfishness. After so many years, I'm guessing God had enough, and decided it was time to end the human race. A lot like the flood from the Noah's Arc story. Now human race can prove itself, and show God they'll do anything and everything in their powers to get the energy he placed in the Aragami, and rebuild the Earth. If they aren't enough, then the Aragami will kill them all, and that will be the end of it. If the chosen people wielding the God Arcs can fight the adversity and prove to God they care too much for the Earth and the people around them, then he'll spare the world and the human race again until he has watched thousands of years of destruction from people again.

 

When you think about it, there are not many people left in the world of the God Eater anime. If God spares them, then with the energy they've gathered, they could literally have a brand new Earth with a population of only thousands. Not just that, but this time they would have knowledge and resource to not repeat the past. Depending on what kind of God(s) or higher beings you believe in, this story might actually seem like a possibility when you look at our current world. In my belief, God destroys the Earth while the sinners are all cast to Hell, and his faithful followers ascend to meet him in Heaven. He then rebuilds the Earth again. After that, I don't know. Nobody in my religion knows. Maybe someone betrays God again when it's all over and the cycle repeats. Maybe there is a new space and a new race of being that people in Heaven guide for billions of years if God decides it to be. The possibilities are endless, and this anime could be one of those possibilities.

 

Whatever religion you follow, this is a great anime. The soundtrack, art, plot, and characters prove that. Not to mention that 2 main characters are voiced by the Sanji and Zoro voice actors.
