uhm why has no one suggested a Japanese actor yet? Naruto characters are not white jfc. And why do you all cast 30 year olds, they're teenagers, again jfc.

Actually, not all Naruto characters are Japanese either. I don't suppose you think Killer Bee is Japanese do you? There really is no "Japanese" in Naruto because the nations are all made up.

Of course, people still say a character is Japanese even though in the manga it is specifically stated they are from the United States or somewhere else outside of Japan. Take Asuka Langley Sohryu from Evangelion who is said to be one quarter Japanese, but is described as looking a German European. Catherine McDonald from Kaze No Stigma is specifically said to be from the United States. It would be politically incorrect to have these characters played by Japanese actors.

That being said, it works both ways. Naruto is a bit of a tough one because you really don't know if all these characters are meant to look Japanese or are from other parts of the world. I think Kishimoto did this to show how this manga is of different cultures mixed into one and it certainly shows with the different villages and different cultures of people.

Konoha is actually a weird one in that it seems more like a melting pot culture. You have a little bit of everything in it.

i mean just look at him

he already has tanned skin,blue eyes blonde hair (sort of),he is not that tall,and he could easily pass as teenager,he looks so young..and his cheerful open personality matches naruto a lot..dye his hair a lighter blonde,give him the naruto haircut,draw some whisker marks on his cheeks and voila ,you have a real life naruto

I agree. Having some adult womanly actress to play Sakura just hyper sexualizes her. Takes away from the whole point of her character by making her into some super-sexy superwoman. Both Hinata and Ino are identified by their aspects of physical beauty. But not Sakura.

 

I would think more along the lines of Katniss in the HG — someone who can be beautiful when they're cleaned up, but who mainly doesn't advertise their physical features.

I think the person would have to be able to rock the pink hair REALLY well. Everybody doesn't look good with that kind of color, so it'd have to come off as more natural. I guess the green eyes would be easy because of contacts.

im kinda confused..i never heard of this actor(i admit i watch tv very rarely) ,and i was about to say he looks kinda effeminate to play naruto ,cause naruto needs an actor more masculine ,stronger looking ,but then i searched for alex pettyfer on google and

 

wow just wow..if this is him ,then let him be naruto!..perfect choice and a lil better than zac efron

 

btw i dont want avril as sakura...thats a very good photoshoped picture with her,but in general she looks kinda creepy

He was in the film named In Time with J.Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried.Yes he's good.I shared teenage pic of him so that's why he didn't look like a good choice.But you see him he's perfect

If there's ever a live action Naruto... you can bet I'll be staying far, far away from it.  I shudder just imagining the atrocity it would more than likely be. Naruto's just not something that I can see working in a live action format any better than Dragonball Z or Avatar: The Last Airbender -- regardless of who's cast in it.
