Doesn't this then technically make Matt Smith the 12th Doctor? Meaning he's closer to becoming the Valeyard?

He became mine. As much as I held onto Tennant (please no you only like the new doctors because you only know them comments, I get enough of that on other forums). There's just something about how he can all at once be funny, smart, and angry at the same time. Just super interesting to watch.

 

Makes me wonder if Jenna Louise is also gonna leave with Matt Smith, or would she stay on with 12 for awhile like Rose did with 10?

 

I'm guessing that since she's only been there for half a season really, that if she had her way she'd stay, but who's to say that they don't tie his parting with hers. 

 

This makes me curious though... because if River's meeting 10 and "demise" is fixed then did the story she told 10 about how he cried already happen off-screen? 

 

As for the new Doctor, what qualities do you want to see in them? I doubt they'd go with an actor who was older looking again. Will it be female? Will it be Jenna? Him giving up his regenerations to bring her back to life, restore the time streams maybe, making her whole again turns her into him, kind of like Superior Spider-man is Doc Ock? Nah, don't like it much, but it is a theory. 

 

Wish I had a dead-on English accent. I'd live in England for the rest of the year hopping auditions hoping to pull a Hugh Laurie and trick them into hiring me before they knew I wasn't from the UK.

Jenna-Louise is said to be coming back for the eighth series and she will be along side the twelfth Doctor. She's doing a 'Rose'.

12th Doctor.  Peter Capaldi.  The only thing I know of him was that he appeared in Fires of Pompeii and played a... World Health Organization Doctor in World War Z.

I'll be looking forward to Capaldi's debut as the Twelfth (or maybe Thirteenth?) Doctor.    I loved Matt Smith's tenure as Eleven, his Doctor was a delight to watch, and he had some really amazing moments.

 

I'm also a supporter of the John Hurt = Ninth Doctor theory:

 

Reasons why

The Eighth Doctor died alone, and nobody saw him regenerate into Nine.  All we know about the birth of Christopher Eccleston's Ninth Doctor is that he was "born in battle", we never saw him being born from Eight's body.

 

This opens up the possibility that Eight regenerated into a different Doctor.

 

Eleven also knows who John Hurt's Doctor was, and he said that he "broke the promise" and forfeited the name of the Doctor.  Because Eleven remembers, that means it happened in his past and it's not a "possible future" Doctor.  From what Eleven says, it seems that all the subsequent Doctors disowned Hurt because they could not agree with what he did.  They understood why he did it, but they could not forgive.

 

I think Hurt's Doctor is the one who ended the Time War.  As we know, millions of Daleks and Time Lords all perished at the Doctor's hands when he ended the war.  It saved the universe, but at a very heavy cost.

 

Oh, and when the BBC published an article about the revelation of Twelve, they also said he was "the last Doctor".  Interesting, since the Doctor can have 13 lives...

 

Of course, when Capaldi leaves, I'm sure they'll find a way to extend the Doctor's adventures. 

 

Really can't wait for the 50th anniversary episode!
