what??? she is XD that databooks say shes faster than hinata (sakura is like 3 and hinata is 2.5)

the better question is why do people think sakura is slow?

and what can you prove that hinata is faster than sakura?

.........so...the poison and bombs dont work on strong people? i guess thats why Lee, Sai, and Kiba got knocked-out by sakura's sleepy bomb in an instant

and hinata is nowhere near the power of neji. they dont even have the same jutsu's (well other than byakugan)

i dont see how sakura will have trouble with a girl that hasnt shown anything impressive? well maybe those lion? dragon hands were cool......if they only hit pain i guess

I don't think she's slow at all. Her only problem is that she can't keep up the speed for as long as the others in her team can.

exactly. people compare her to naruto and sasuke which is completely unfair

sakura is stronger than most of the rookie boys and totally stronger than all the girls.

i do admit...she would probably lose to neji, lee, and maybe...sai...

shikamaru might need to use his brains for her, seeing as they are both smart.

but everyone else pffft

though she could probably defeat any of them with the heroine plot on her side :DDD

Got some pictures scanned right off the third databook.

Bottom right corner is where the character stats are. Starting from the top, clockwise it goes ninjutsu, taijutsu, genjutsu, intelligence, strength, speed, stamina, hand seals. The octagonal outlines determine the speed level. Although it's a bit hard to see the fifth octagon, it doesn't matter because both Sakura and Hinata's speeds don't reach that level. Anyway...

Sakura's speed is on the third octagonal line, showing her speed at level 3. Hinata's is in between the second and third octagonal lines, showing her speed at level 2.5.

Ergo, Sakura is faster than Hinata.

That's not the point here. The point here is that it's proven that she's faster than Hinata.
I usually disagree with Merry on certain subjects (almost everything), but I have to agree with most of what she's saying this time.

In addition, certain characters have situation specific abilities that are poorly suited for combat, but still excellent skills. Ino's specialty is useful, but not a very good one for a one on one battle. Likewise, I think Shikamaru isn't the best suited for one on one combat. If Kishimoto didn't whip out plot no jutsu, with special made battles against one dimensional fighters who somehow make an elite organizations while being that one dimensional (Hidan) and fighters who are too stupid to press an obvious advantage (Temari), well....

Anyway, his skill set make him an excellent strategist and support character, but I think the likes of Neji and Lee would annihilate him, unless he had time like against Hidan. Then, probably just Neji. Without a common point of reference and one on one fights it's really hard to say and I'm inclined to go with Neji because he is a jonin and was probably made one a reason, but how they would fair depends on the circumstances.

As for Shikamaru vs Lee, well, Lee is a bit of a Leeroy Jenkins it'd be easy for Shikamaru to take advantage of that. Not only that, I could see the fight ending in a draw at least.

I could easily see Shikamaru stab Lee's shadow when Lee gets a hit in. while Shikamaru is hit, he could use a kawarimi if he wants.

Shikamaru was focus inward and stationary in the middle of a battle field. A wide open battle field. She is a long range fighter and she just stands and watches while he does this. He was able to think up and execute the plan because she let him do so when he made himself a very easy target.

I hate Shikamaru for a lot of reasons, but one is the fandom giving near omnipotence when it comes to his ability to strategize and execute them.

Sai is not the strongest, he just paints and hopes his cats and birds hit the enemy.. Neji simple spinning around would stop all his attacks..

Sai was an elite member of Root, Danzou believed strong enough to kill Sasuke, he's also been trained as a weapon since a young age, so i'd think he would be atleast an even match for Neji.

No He managed to overcome the blocked Chakra coils with the use of Kyuubi's chakra, he beat Neji by using his brain, taking advantage of Neji relying on his eyes to distract him and beating him. If you make such a claim then you can argue Neji is only good because of his Bloodline, he would have lost without his abilty to see chakra veins to block Naruto's coils.
Sakura's speed and agility was proven in her battle against Sasori, she was able to avoid the being attacked from multiple angles, She was trained personally by Tsunade, and as mentioned the official databook puts her ahead of Hinata, We've not seen anything that suggests Hinata is faster, yeah she was in the first part, but we've seen nothing to suggest that after the timeskip.

You also mention about her staying back and letting her teammates do the hard work? She was fighting Sasori, head-on, she destroyed than summon from Pain head on, she was fighting with Lee, Kakashi, and Gai, as a close combat specialist head on. Besides she's one of the high ranked medics, protege of Tsunade, with the potential to surpass even her shisho, she has to avoid getting severely injured, she gets injured in battle, means the other can't fight to their full potential because they don't have anyone on the battlefield to heal them. Her role is ultimately to support the others so they can fight all out knowing if somethin happened they have someone who can heal them and they can fight on.

Hell, the summons they do give them a lot of flexibility when it comes to feats that need to be performed. And Shikamaru, can think himself out something fierce. But these guys have more experience, plus they know each kid's weaknesses, having dealt with their family members for years now.

I say Shikamaru. I think his intelligenge and strategic abilities would allow him to win against the others.. or Neji, since he's the only jounin, it's gotta mean something, right?

But Shikamaru runs out of Chakra rather quickly a lot of times in the manga. Neji... I dunno maybe. But personally? Lee. Specially since he has the 5 gates and all.

Well, it depends on what you mean by "strong," exactly. If we're talking in terms of intellect and strategy, then Shikamaru, obviously. If we're talking about physical strength, then either Sakura because she has inherited Tsunade's power, or Lee, as he has the best balance between speed and strength. And if we're talking about the ability to quickly and efficiently end a fight with a cool head, then it would have to be Neji. However, to be fair, there haven't been too many instances where we have been able to see how much some of them have actually grown. Hinata, for one. We see her fight against Pain, but she's clearly way out of her league, and any of the 11 (aside from Naruto) would have been beaten just as badly. We've yet to really see her put up against someone of a reasonable caliber. And I think the same can be said for many of the others, as well.

Sakura is in there with the three of them because 15 years later if she surpasses Tsunade AND have the Byakugo technique, Neji and Lee's attack ain't going to do kitten to her(Speed won't matter here). She's not on the top because if she fails to dodge a kunai attack that cuts out the neck I think she'll be dead.

Sakura quickly takes down the Neiji imposter Zetsu- after older, more experienced medic nins were already killed by Zetsu. Not only does she take him down, but she quickly figures out how Zetsu is doing this....

Sakura is very near the top of her age peers, while Hinata is at the bottom. Every attempted battle we've seen Hinata in, someone had to rescue her in manga canon. Sakura's only weakness is similar to Minato's. She'll grow past even that in time, she already shows a fast recovery from a moment of weakness.

Not really. Most of us here don't hate Hinata, but we do look down on the whole "stalker" thing.

From what we've seen in manga canon, I'd say that was true. I'd also rank Ino significantly higher than Hinata. It is especially obvious now. Ino comes across pretty well as a fighter, controlling her technique, and she's core to holding the current Ino-Shika-Cho team together. She's not in Sakura's league, but I'd certainly say she's a quite comptent Chunin level ninja. I don't think I could rank her as Jonin level- where I feel confident in ranking Sakura as Jonin level now. Tenten? Not sure, definitely a solid Chunin level, but Jonin, hmm... just haven't seen enough of her abilities in this arc to say.

I think people throw around the word "stalker" too lightly these days, forgetting what a stalker actually is.

And further, this idea that Hinata belongs at the bottom of the Konoha 11 is absurd. I'm sorry, I don't care how much bias a person has. Hinata obviously belongs above Ino and Chouji at the very least.
