This is really a strange time. Now apparently a new law by world governments has been issued. Truth, is Treason.

You know.... if I made public the location of every member of the armed forces in Iraq and every informant working with them, I might be letting out truth, but I'd also be seeing out thousands of people who may die because I couldn't keep my mouth shut. I think that'd be betraying them wouldn't you? Selling your country and it's people up the river doesn't require you to lie.

The issue of treason has nothing to do with the veracity of Assange's info. He's simply cannot be a traitor to a nation has no part of.

Assange is an idiot. Did he really think he could do what he did and get away with it? Now the world is coming down on his head, and he deserves every minute of misery he endures.

By the way, did anyone besides me find it hilarious that he rage-quitted during an interview with a news-program, despite being given an easy interviewer?

I should make a demotivation picture out of it, it's so hilarious to me.

State Department issues warning to Columbia University Students Okay seriously? I haven't set foot on Wikileaks just relayed what comes from News Agencies, but in response to this. State Department, Really? I know you can have prestige and see the world but you still don't pay as well as other sectors. It's just supression, isn't it?

You don't go after people for reading it. Especially since it can prove that they've taken history and learned how to study Primary Sources. Edumacation sector proven.

I encourage suppression, but only if it's against specifically the offending source. A.K.A., Assange and WikiLeaks/WikiLeaks activists. Let everyone else talk about WikiLeaks, and let the news spread that this 'leak' is going to be a dam-burst of propaganda material for the rebels in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Stage 4

After the lack of funds and on the run the Instigator triggers the bomb. The Wikileaks "Insurance" File designed to be sent the moment that Assange can no longer operate. This is the crossroad where we have the information of BP and Gitmo being released with all important intelligence gathered over the course of Assange's work. There is the strong, preemptive measure that cannot be made which should've probably been initiated by the first phase of a takedown of Wikileaks, plant a bomb to the make the bomb a dud. Without the ability to destroy the "Insurance" file this will blow up in the face of those trying to shut down the site. In other words the supporters will be able to create their own site and release information after the main pillar is destroyed.

Most likely we will know what he has because precautionary steps were not taken, however they could've planned this from the first leak, thus no one knows. However it doesn't need to be a hack as much as a method of disconnecting data from the rest of the net which is as simple as breaking a copper wire to the server.

Well that was my deduction theory because other than that I'm just going back to what I was doing beforehand.

Assange to turn himself in:

http://news.yahoo.co...hi_te/wikileaks

And it just boggles my mind that there are actually people who support this lunatic and think he's some sort of great 'hero', when he's releasing info like this:

QUOTE
In one of its most sensitive disclosures yet, WikiLeaks released on Sunday a secret 2009 diplomatic cable listing sites around the world that the U.S. considers critical to its security. The locations include undersea communications lines, mines, food suppliers, manufacturers of weapons components, and vaccine factories.

Pentagon spokesman Col. David Lapan called the disclosure damaging and said it gives valuable information to the nation's enemies.

"This is one of many reasons why we believe WikiLeaks' actions are irresponsible and dangerous," Lapan said.

How is him releasing all of this sensitive info 'good for transparency'. He's just an attention-seeking egotistical man, who is doing *nothing* helpful, and who has bitten off more than he can obviously chew.

Well, whether it was guilty or not guilty, or whether Sarah Palin considers and Australian citizen treacherous to the United States, could be put in debate. But what is not debatable is that it was true, otherwise the American government would not have acted like it did. The world would not have acted like it did, if it wasn't True, and reveals that some of the biggest fuss of the 21st century...aren't really all that fussy.

China's GDP is unreliable, Iraq sees Saudi Arabia as a bigger threat to its security than Iran, it is possible that Saudi Arabia might have led our entire foreign policy in the Middle East in order to increase oil prices and profit. Considering that all the hijackers in 9/11 were from Saudi Arabia, for all we know they might have supplied Osama Bin Laden with the hijackers. But of course our media heads, our newspapers our polarized nation with left and right ideas clashing at each other continues to ignore one simple lesson in history. In the end the truth is always, always revealed. And then there is this

Quite frankly I agree with him, and the general tenor of his statment. The ones making the biggest deal about this are neocons and warhawks. Quite frankly the vast majority of the cables released would have been released in another 20+ years anyways. And I too find that the hue and cry raised is suspiciously like that of the cries raised about Daniel Ellsburg. Similar calls were made for Ellsburg to be tried and executed for treason and assassinated if needed.

Quite frankly these calls come off as childish and hypocritical given that George W Bush has yet to be prosectued or even censured for his torture orders, his lying to congress about Iraq, and his blatant disregard for National and International law.

While Im not totally on Wikis side on this matter. I feel theyve engaged in a little too much spray and pray, as opposed to the type of targeted shooting they should be doing. I personally am a big fan of governement transparency, especially in the election process and in the votes to go to war.

In 1787 as the US Constitution was being written, Thomas Jefferson wrote "Were it left to me to decide whether we should have government without newspapers or newspapers without government, i should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter." The irony is that this so called "small government" conservatives are asking for the execution, assassination, and persecution without trial, as little more than fair.

Sarah Palin said that we should hunt down Assange like we hunted down Osama Bin Laden. (Missing the point that Osama Bin Laden has not been captured). Two years ago, candidate Barack Obama praised the long tradition of information leaks, by defending those whistle blowers that revealed Bush-era covert operations. "We only knew this crimes took place because insiders blew the whistle at great personal risk." Today president Obama has completely forgotten this statement.

Except WikiLeaks and Assange and their 'whistleblowing' has done harm to innocent people, who are probably being hunted down this very moment for being US informants in the wars, who had their names released to the world at large. Assange is essentially a murderer by revealing these people to those who would do them nothing but harm. How is that 'serving justice' to anyone?

Actually Sakura thats not true. Its been debunked. Wikileaks was actually very deliberate about blacking out and or redacting the names of informants and others that cooperated.

Many of the cables that were released were as I said earlier. Memcons ((memos of conversation)) that diplomats and military officers have to fill out after contact with a foreign agent. Simply put the VAST majority of them will be released some 25-35 years from now. The state departments currently at 1971 in their release schedule. Long after most of the people involved in the cables are retired or dead.

What worries me more and more lately is the irrational backlash against wikileaks from conservatives and the unlawful attacks against it. Calls for murder and assassination which are clearly Illegal, cyber attacks against servers and pressure brought on service providers also which are illegal. The attacks launched against this man are reminiscent of those launched against Daniel Eslberg after he released the pentagon papers which showed that the gulf of tonkin incedent was a fabrication for justification to prosectue the vietnam conflict.

Also Bradley Manning the PFC who leaked the cables, has been illegally detained in violation of his civil rights and his military rights under the UCMJ for seven months. Either release the man or charge him under court martial proceedings under the UCMJ. There is no alternative. Any other is a violation of the law.

While Im not a fan of the Spray and pray mentality wikileaks has taken, I understand where theyre coming from, and can appreciate the spirit of what they do. A cabale stating how Momar Khadafi travels with a busty Ukranian nurse is no more a matter of national security then the state of my toilet after I've taken a dump in it.

The whistleblowing that wikileaks has done is an unfortunate neccesity nowadays due to the blatant violations of international and national law by the prior administration and the current one. If we simply have full disclosure and a better mechanism for covering what really needs secrecy and what really belongs in a tabloid we'd not even be having this discussion.

Now If Assange is guilty of the assault charges against him ((something I doubt due to the connections the ladies in question have with the CIA)) I will personally throw the book at him. The accusations of any woman about rape need to be taken seriously. And so he can and should face his day in court and answer those charges.
