Slam dunk needs an anime adaptation of the national tournament arc. The final game had to be one of the most exhilarating finale in a manga ever. The artwork of this finales is like watching porno its so damn well drawn. I don't think any other mangaka is that good in terms of drawing the action.

The manga also needs at least a final volume to tie up two issues that have to be resolved.

Well the author end it when sd on its highest. So codus to him, unlike kishi.
What is the two unresolved issue?

I think, sakuragi is better than rukawa because he has athleticism and the fact he could learn basket ball for 4 or 6 months. Sakuragi has higher ceiling than rukawa IMO. So it's up to the mangaka to show it or not, since slamdunk is a rival sport manga.

The love triangle really like naruto love triangle. The difference is it doesn't solved. There are many factor:
1. The setting of sd is on the modern, highschool, and non fantasy world. So pairing doesn't necessary need to happen. Usually pairing happen in shonen manga to show the little kid or if the manga focus more on the romance like romcom genre.

2. The author keep the status quo until the end of manga. Which naruto follow it.

3. In the end, sakuragi confess that he love basket ball, since he join his club because of haruko.

In sport manga, romance happen between status quo or canon pairing only to for short time and then break up leading the mc doesn't has love life thus focus on sport aspect.

Well Anzai said that Sakuragi and Rukawa were talents that could surpass Yazawa .

Sakuragi still did not surpass Yukawa cause the coach said that he would need to train hyper hard if he hoped to surpass Yukawa at the end of the 3rd year. However, I wanted Sakuragi to have a one on one against Rukawa as the finale.

About Haruko, we definitely should have the real translation because I have heard rumors that his confession was very ambigous and could have meant that he loves basketball and Haruko. Maybe the author is saying that there cannot be true love based on lies (I am looking at you naruto). In addition Sakuragi is reading her letter in a very enamorous way. Moreover, her ending monologue is very ambiguous saying that she will wait for the basketball I love (sakuragi).

However i am still happy with this ending.
