I'm actually kind of curious over what's happening really. Adult Swim and Toonami used to be separate programming blocks, but it looks like Adult Swim is promoting Toonami's return. From what I remember, One Piece was airing regularly at least a year before Toonami's cancellation, and Naruto was still airing right up to it. That would be something, if Toonami returned with the Big 3.

Toonami and [Adult Swim] both came from Turner Broadcasting. That's why they're promoting Toonami. Plus, [Adult Swim] pretty much replaced Toonami's midnight runs from what I remember, I guess that's how they're linked.

its good that they are bringing new programming along with the older stuff. I just never feel like watching anime on the computer all the time. plus i dont mind waiting weekly for new episodes
And I think the old stuff airing will be mostly the anime from the old adult swim along with DBZ Outlaw star from toonami

Even though I don't live in the US, I'm really happy for you guys. There's nothing better than seeing your favourite shows back then being aired again just for old time's sake.
I think FT will most definitely be part of the block as part of the new line-up, considering its popularity.
The family that couldn't be.

I agree its hard enough for me to actually remember to watch the New Episodes of Shippuden and thats the only anime I watch online and I only started watching it a few months ago.
I was wondering if they did start showing Naruto again would they continue where the left off in the pre-Shippuden fillers, would they skip strait into Shippuden or would they start over from the begining with stronger language and without all the edits?
But I'm a little confused about when it will be. I know they say Saturday May 26th at Midnight but are they talking about technically (i.e. starting at the end of Friday Night or like it was on April Fools when it is technically Sunday?
One more thing I'd like to know what shows from [adult swim] will be carried over, what shows from Toonami's original run do you think/hope will be brought, and what new show do you think/would like them to show?

Ahh, I see, so that's why Adult Swim was promoting it, it's basically incorporating Toonami as part of its own block.
Anyways it's good that a lot of old shows will be coming back, and hopefully we'll see some new ones. If it's only on Saturday night, I'll be probably still be watching it on my computer, since I don't have a DVR, but I'd really like to see some shows get back on T.V. if only just to help generate interest. Hopefully they're smart with their programming, and keep new episodes/shows toward the beginning of the block.
I really hope so, for both of them. I think Fairy Tail would have seemed right at home on Toonami, so I can see it returning on this new Midnight Run block. I'd really like to see the Fairy Tail anime reach at least a Bleach level of popularity over here. Some fans might not care for dubs, but they seem to be the best way to generate interest in some of these series, which in turn helps bring the manga volumes, DVDs, and video games over here faster. I know I discovered Naruto and Bleach through Cartoon Network, and I'd be willing to bet I wasn't the only one.

i agree. i've never watched or read fairy tale, but i'll look into it once naruto ends. as for who else became a fan of naruto because of toonami and cartoon network? me. i loved how it began. and i loved the shadow clone jutsu and the rasengan. the fights reminded me of dbz, which i love to death. then i learned more about naruto and started enjoying naruto for his character and enjoying the plot. and now i am hooked on naruto( though i do read a one piece chapter from time to time. i believe my last up to date one piece chapter was when that shibikai or whatever they call it, cut all the marines into pieces. they were cut into pieces but still alive, just like the samurai.). unlike most people though, i watched toonami from beginning to end. anyways, i'm so glad it's back. i'm glad everyone is happy. i've been spreading the word to bring it back like crazy. and i figured the april fools thing was a test from the start. here's why: 1. the original creators of toonami have been promoted to adult swim, and 2.( this is the major one) toonami used to always do tests, for example, when it first came out they did a commercial with chaotic superman cartoon scenes and then it said this: "is toonami a failed experiment? tell us what you think". and they gave the mailing address and everything. i figured it was a test because of this. i mean come on, why would they tweet so much, make the original voice actor of tom do amazing new scenes, and bring back the toonami creators if it was a prank? i mean, if it was a prank, adult swim would have announced the next day, otherwise it seems like a too much a cruel type of joke.

I loved Toonami! It'll be great to see it again, even if only reruns.

Strictly an anime block, like adult swim has been doing on saturday nights
Schedule
12am Bleach
12:30 Deadman Wonderland -New series
1:00 Casshern Sins-New series
1:30 Fullmetal Alchemist BrotherHood
2:00 Ghost in the Shell
2:30 Cowboy Bebop
Then a Repeat.
Toonami has very little resources in terms of money, so no naruto, one piece, DBZ or fairy tale. Naruto and DBZ specifically are licensed by competitors. The other two, most likely don't have the money for. Tom will appear as an updated hi-res version of Tom 3.0. Absolution will be updated but look similar to the one Tom 3.0 used. Steve Blum is still going to be Tom. Peter Cullen is busy and won't be doing the promos. They WILL try to put together music videos, video game reviews etc. Music will be coming from many different sources. No SARA, she costs a lot of money to make. However, if people watch Toonami and the ratings are good, they will get more money more resource which means, more Tom animations, SARA could come back, it could be longer than 3 hours, even more new anime and old ones as well. Just like when Toonami started, they have to get built up for good things to happen.
