NaruHina fans like to think Hinata so important and in their warped mind of thinking, they see Hinata always being there for Naruto since she never hated him(Yet they completely disregard the fact that Hinata saw Naruto suffering when he was younger and though claiming she cares about him, she never approached him in his time of misery.) They saw "Well she was shy!" but I see that as an excuse. There's a reason why Hinata isn't one of his most precious bonds. She didn't save him from loneliness. Team 7 and Iruka did.

Sakura, on the other hand, for a long time, has interacted with him and cheered him on. She always healed him when he was injured and gives him friendship and companionship(Love too ;)). They should be able to see that and they fact that they deny that shows selective reading.

sakura is the answer. it's no contest. it's just as crazy as how anime fans think anime defies physics and think game physics are real. for example, sonic vs mario. mario is human. sonic can pierce robots like they are nothing, therefore if sonic used a sonic spin on any human being, even luffy or someone else like him with super powers, they would have a gaping hole in their chest much more severe than chidori. and to these one piece fans that think luffy is so fast and can block anything super fast, they ignore this: if someone moves faster than the speed of light, they turn into pure energy and die. this doesn't happen to sonic as super sonic because of this: the chaos emeralds have the power to bend time, space, dimensions, and reality and pretty much have unlimited power and get strengthened by hearts. basically denying how much sakura has been there for naruto is just as crazy as people denying real life physics.

Hinata has mostly just sat on the sidelines and thought about Naruto. She never acts, she just encourages him in her mind.

Does happy thoughts help Naruto? No.
