I guess, even though NS got all the usual formula that makes it canon. Look, we shouldn't even be discussing this. It's extremely clear that it wasn't planned when the movie couldn't do it right.
This and this so much. I see how someone in here being negative about NS even being as pairing. That's not a good idea, people already negative to the last point, and if someone can't see when charcters being forced to do so and so, that's not mean those doing was IC for them. Sakura's sauce-kuning was extremly wrong on war, her crush ended after bridge, but Kishimoto re-forced it to new highs on the war, if you can see how many plot-points where forgoten in final part of manga, then you stopped ask quesitons about "was it planned".
Because what I see now - Kishimoto really got feed up with this series and ended it with rush for whatever reason he did it. There was no plan behind it from his side as we can see it by SP deeds.

Well it was good, I'm not denying, but you can say it was overrated. As the series goes on, it was still good, just that it won't reach that potential, whatever that may be. Then last couple of years, just enjoy the ride.Naruto was never really that good to me...When I first saw part one when I was younger. Yeah I was all like NARUTO, but looking back at the series it never was that good.

Naruto was never really that good to me...When I first saw part one when I was younger. Yeah I was all like NARUTO, but looking back at the series it never was that good.
part 1 is good. part 2 is kitten filled with logic that will you give you headaches.
