then why did sakura continue loving sasuke for many years even when they were apart? why didn't naruto reject hinata earlier in the series?

I really don't even consider that fangirling. All Sakura really did was say Sasuke's name since he was the first one to show up. It's not like Sakura didn't acknowledge Naruto after saying that she would steal the Hokage spot from him.

Like I said, maybe I'm being unfair in reading that moment. But I'm aggravated today about the ending so I'm thinking back over critical scenes and that annoyance is affecting my memory/interpretation.

Like I said, maybe I'm being unfair in reading that moment. But I'm aggravated today about the ending so I'm thinking back over critical scenes and that annoyance is affecting my memory/interpretation.

Trust me, I understand. This ending really has me looking over some past moments from the manga in a new light, but I still do believe it wasn't meant to end this horribly.

It really is inconsequential whether he had this planned out or not. We both know Kishi completely botched the romance part of the story and destroyed the characters on every possible level, so to me it's irrelevant if this was his plan from the very beginning. It was still a bad plan.

He botched when we went Kage Summit. It could have been simple.
