Yeah, that whole arc just was so cohesive. I held out hope until the Kage summit, then Sakura's confession. After that it was all downhill. 

 

It got worse as the War happened and all, Tricks. And then we also got the fact some kitten was pretty bad early on, like how I felt Shikamaru's character development was OK, but uit also sucked since it was born of guilt and not his own design to better himself, or the fact too that yeah, Naruto followed a similar path, yet he tried to SURPASS Jiraiya.

AHK, you're right, Naruto was never allowed to express himself. Not once. He just had to take all this crap hand he was dealt in life, and keep on smiling. And I know he was a fiesty, brawling little kid, but that's not what I mean. Naruto took all of his orphan years, all of that rejection and hardship, and then his crappy relationship with Sasuke and then Obito, yet he never once got good and angry. Not even at Sakura. It's like he always had to be the hero. The only time he shows his frustration was in the ramen stand when someone asked his autograph. And then, getting mad at an anonymous guy, is about like yelling at othe driverrs from your car! It accomplishes nothing! It was the only way he could be angry, but not actually have to be responsible for directing it at anyone!! I would have liked to have seen him grapple with his own anger and disappointment and come out on top. I would have liked to see him emotionally develop farther than just the waterfall of truth (which was really only written to resolve that ramen stand scene).

 

And Narufan85, you're right, I would have liked to have seen Naruto get mad more too. Why doesn't he get mad at Sasuke for treating Sakura like crap? Why doesn't he call out Minato and Genma and the Third and all the othe people in the village who knew Minato was his father, who would have fought side by side with his mom and dad, and who would have died for them...then just left their only son to believe he's an orphan an treated like crap!?! I would have liked to have seen Naruto take to task those around him, instead of being painted as the great hero who can't get angry.

He just takes all this,people just don't work like that,even with fictional characters.These are humans u r talking about,after all that suffering and hardship as a orphan and all the events after that until now,u just can't not show that anger afterwards and put a smile,that is in no way human.He could never express himself,he was made as a guy with a smile who suffered and suffered and suffered and was only allowed to show the feelings of overated nakama,brother sasuke BS,his love interest,taking on others pain.

 

In the end after all this suffering,what did he get ? he was turned into the worst scumbag,lost everything,was made into hinata's slave,became the entire opposite of what he was in the manga except for the last two chapters,had his love he loved with his life taken away by his rival who did nothing but try to kill,torture and abuse her,became a complete and utter hated loser.

 

Only kishi can kitten up like this.

Seeing again how another NHtard or Naruto fanboy hailed Naruto to be the best shounen manga series ever (da fuq), I wanna ask you guys:

What do you think in your opinion is the best shounen ever? I expect mangas such as One Piece, FMA, and HxH to be mentioned a lot.

For some reason the latter two are the ones I barely ever hear critique from...

EDIT: Can Nisekoi even be considered a shounen? Isn't it just a harem series?

i'm not too sure about that. 
 
in the end, a complex character like pain had to be turned into a moron in order for naruto to defeat him with a book. this cop out was obviously for naruto's pursuit of world peace. pain arc could have walked out into the sunset, but the ending of it was complete garbage. the revival of the characters is the thing i hated most. 

Yeah it completely took away the quality. When people die in real life they are dead forever. It's never a good idea to kill off bring back kill off and bring back people again in a story as Kikitten has demonstrated multiple times. Especially a ninja war story where soldiers are supposed to die everyday.

Kishi was so hell bent at portraying Naruto as this over the top understanding/forgiving hero. That Naruto looked unrealistic! The one time he got angry and punched/yelled at Minato, was immediately swept away by "It's ok, I am the son of the 4th Hokage" line!

I wanted Naruto to really get angry (not kyuubi like). But really express his emotions!

Kishi had the whole prophecy given to Jiraiya that Naruto will either destroy or save the world. Yet I have never seen the "destroying" part in Naruto.   

 

Yeah, it would have been nice to see Naruto have a bit of a dark side. Yeah, he has to confront this before he meets Kushina, but I'd have liked to have seen that portrayed a bit more throughout. And I'm not just talking about when he lost control channeling Kyuubi; I wanted to see Naruto really confront the repercussions of being treated so poorly and how that would negatively affect someone.

I couldn't agree more. He was still last good character because of his philosophy and background even. It took more and more deaths to have him snapped. Obito took one. Yeah...

The ending was fine. It could have been good or maybe great if the revival didn't happen. I just like the whole Naruto got opposite treatment to him because that's how the story was built in the first place. It almost felt like Konoha centric should be the final piece, not the whole war that really didn't value anything but have Sasuke learned something that's already made in the first place. So it became redudant. That's why I don't understand what exactly Sasuke changed for.

Yeah I knew 2 people who were neutral on Naruto pairings before the series ended but were leaning towards NaruSaku. Then the ending proved them wrong and they jumped on the SS/NH boat I guess out of canon reverence duty.

The only times Naruto got angry was because of a third party (Kabuto talking kitten about Sasuke. BZ talking kitten about Obito etc etc). As I already said the one time he got angry for what's done to him was swept away with a stupid line with Minato!

 

Naruto had to let all hatred go before taking on Kurama. But to me I have never seen this "hatred" in Naruto. Sure it was talked about. But Naruto never showed it!. The whole dark Naruto at the waterfall was also ended on a stupid way!

 

Also the whole "Naruto letting go of his hatred" was also pointless. Since he felt hatred/angry at BZ!

 

Kishimoto brought very complex/adult themes into his story. But didn't know how to work with them.

I saw it happened to one JP artist too, the rest just stopped posting and random people who never drew Naruto are drawing NH and SS now, though most SS fans keep to the original over what happened
