I don't think he saw it, Sasuke probably hits on Sakura just during the balcony scene.

Btw did you guys know about this? It was posted on the NS fanclub on NF few days ago, maybe it's something from the novel?

It's in the debate thread. Ciardha couldn't read it since it's blurry. I really want to know what's that.

The blogger is apologizing for the blurriness of the image, apparently from a journal, and says something about the text praising narusaku as tai (I wrote about what that means a couple of pages back) I clicked on the picture and part of the text is cut off as well as being blurry but I didn't see any reference to Naruto, Sakura or narusaku in what I could see of the text. I didn't see any reference to what journal that text came from in the blogger's explanation either.

It looks like this blogger makes nejihina doujinshi besides being a nejihina shipper.

Thanks.

I want to see the movie so bad. Sigh. Oh well. At least Kishi can't escape this one, since now we got a clear picture of his intention. A year later and then we witness something OOC in the manga would make this movie awkward to watch. I have faith in him as we should all have.

News:
http://www.narutofor...;postcount=1293

Looks like this movie is now the highest gross out of them all. It seems this week gross is almost close to Fairy Tail Movie, which just open up in theaters.

I'll bring over my explanation (from the other thread where this page was brought up) of what "tai"= "sea bream" means in this context. It's a very Japanese specific cultural symbol: This is a Japanese cultural reference and is difficult for me to explain in context, but you can sort of translate it as symbolically meaning (all at the same time): fortunate, auspicious, highest quality, respected, enduring... like I said, hard to properly translate into English. It's this one word that gets used to basically say in colloquial language the thing they are talking about is absolutely awesome in every way. (although awesome is only a very vague fit- see above to what they are saying with that one word.

Road to Ninja
4th week
$705,766
Total: $15,879,730

First Naruto Movie
$11,042,133

I'm overjoyed at how RTN has even outdone the first movie's final total box office. That's a big tell of how much well liked Sakura's character is amongst Japanese fans and how much those fans also like a Naruto and Sakura focused story with Sakura being the driving force of the story's movement. Kishimoto has to be thrilled too...

Not trying to burst your bubble or anything, but I doubt the movie is so popular because of Sakura. Maybe for Sakura fans, but I feel that it's mostly so awesome to others because of the well-loved characters Minato and Kushina. They are just bad ass wub.gif.

Probably a combination between:

1. Kishimoto directing and overlooking the whole movie
2. The ads/promotions
3. The plot (being AU)
4. The extras that came with the movie (motion comic, keychains, etc.)
5. The characters: Minato, Kushina, Naruto, Sakura, Sasuke and Hinata (Akatsuki too probably).

Sakura is significantly more popular in Japan than Kushina, and Minato played a significant role in Lost Tower and it didn't do all that great.... This movie has done better than even the first movie. Which did better than any other movie. The movies where Sakura played a more significant role: 1st, 3rd, Shippuden 3, and Road to Ninja are the ones that did the best at the Japanese box office. Japanese fandom is very different than Western fandom.

Remember, Sakura is 1/2 of the most popular ship in Japanese Naruto fandom- sasusaku, narusaku is also very popular in Japanese fandom, even kakasaku is popular. Hinata pairings fall below all those in Japan. And all the Naruto pairings and Sasuke pairing in the top 10 beside narusaku and sasusaku are yaoi.

This is the movie with the strongest Sakura focus of all the movies, and it's made the most money of all the movies. That's pretty concrete proof- the more strong the focus on Sakura, the the better it does.

This movie isn't popular only because of Sakura. It's popular because of the alternate world, Minato and Kushina being alive, Dark Naruto, Hokage Naruto and of course the false advertisement of NaruHina and SasuSaku. Saying it's only popular because of Sakura is silly.

Edit

We all know the movie is not popular only because of Sakura, so is better to ignore some comment so we can avoid discussions and conflict on the thread.

Also I don't think it was because of pairing, maybe Americans are thrilled/excited about pairing but not Japan, if that was the case then the movie would have never made 13 + millions more in revenue, since the 1st watchers could of told the other that the movie didn't have SS or NH, instead the news was distributed about the movie beeing good.

i agree in some parts but disagree when u say "the concrete proof the more strong focus on Sakura, the better it does".
Mostly of the fans liked more the "naruto family", it was something that the fans wanted to see and u know that since kishi draw that cover and he admits it in one of the movies interviews.
for me i gve 50% credit to naruto and sakura and the other 50% to naruto and his family the scenes with naruto and his family are great.

Thanks.

There are 3 clips: The Akatsuki fight in the beginning but ends at Sakura's facepalming; Naruto and Sakura's "date;" Naruto and Sakura meeting Menma for the first time.

16:45 - Naruto and Sakura's "date." It's funny what Naruto keeps repeating at the ending. Not sure what he's saying but it's just funny. It only reminds that shouldn't couple be alive and fun. I mean other couples there's only 50% fun or even less. I just can't see how other couples top this one.

25:35 - Naruto and Sakura meeting Menma for the first time. They were the only that's not trapped in some barrier. What's interesting is that Sakura attacks first and Naruto wasn't trapped either. Why? I thought that's interesting.

As for movie sales, I'm just happy that it's the best selling. Rightfully so. Think of all the converted fans. mwahaha.gif
