Just killing time here before Microsoft conference begins.

What were your reactions when you first hear Naruto was ending in 5 weeks?

At first I was really surprised like "Really? Five weeks? So this is it? The big Naruto vs. Sasuke fight that's been hyped for years is only going to be five or six chapters? And how the hell are you going to resolve everything injust five weeks?"

 

Eventually I was overtaken by hype and I was like "Holy kitten! This is it guys! I'm actually going to witness a series ending. My first manga series! Also there's going to be an epilogue chapter. I bet it's going to be really long so that every little plot point will be properly adressed and explained and it's even going to be in colour! This is awesome!"

 

Then came the spoilers for The Last and yeah, they kinda put a damper on my mood but I didn't let it get me down. Misleading advertising is nothing new when it comes to Naruto movies, so no worries.

 

Then the spoilers for 699 and 700 came out and I then I was like "Really? This is it? After all this time. Just like that? There has to be an explanation for this."

 

Then the chapters came out and I was super angry. So Sakura never actually moved on from Sasuke and so Naruto had to move on? How utterly lame! That wasn't the main problem though. There were much bigger problems, like how everyone seemed to be either depressed or angry or how nothing was really resolved. Instead it was all about who had kids with who. 

 

Then the spoilers for The Last came out and that's when I really started to lose it. It's one thing to not make NS canon, but trying to retcon it out of existence and act as if we were the ones at fault? That's crossing the line. I don't appreaciate being lied to, especially not if the person telling the lie is then going to talk down to me as if I was never anything more than a tool. 

 

And that was only one part of the problem. Naruto is now a scumbag, Sakura is now nothing more than an NH cheerleader and a shallow fangirl, Sasuke and Kakshi are barely in the movie, The Team 7 bond is completely destroyed and Hinata is now the new heroine as well as Naruto's first love.

 

And they expect me to just believe that this kitten was planned all along? Yeah right.

 

In the end, my feelings on Naruto can be summed up thusly.

I was surprised because it was all sudden and I thought 5 weeks weren't enough to wrap everything up. And I was right it wasn't enough time the Naruto vs Sasuke fight was terrible, rushed and boring. Funny part is before that announcement I was going to drop Naruto because I had enough of it, but when the announcement came out I said well 5 more weeks. Too bad I didn't drop it back then, I would've been spared the pain and suffering.

Honestly I was happy when I heard that Naruto was going to end.

 

Sure, if I had known that it would have a such final, I wanted another 500 chapters just to have the satisfaction of seeing NH fans in an eternal waiting that would have gradually consumed them.

Naruto the Last movie kind of made it ominous that the manga was ending pretty soon... The fact the giant climatic battle that was being played up for years had to get the short end of the stick, as well as both characters getting nerfed to resort to straight up fist fighting was pretty bad. Even in the end, Naruto didn't get the win he wanted, despite the fact Sasuke claimed he lost.

It's pretty bad when they're both in the same status by the end while Sasuke won the last time physically and mentally. This one is just mentally, which is why it didn't feel that great of a accomplishment.

Even tho Kishi made Neji a cupid. It was still pointless. Since NH didn't happened because any manga events (not even hand holding NH fans were always screaming about). It happened ecause Naruto's was guilted by a magic genjutsy.
