Trust me its subplot. They arent making the movie just Hinata/NH fans. Its for all fans. There are more interesting things going on in the movie.
This is not a convincing argument.

Ofcourse that is a possibility. But I'm simply replying to someone who said love was a subplot.
To be fair anyone would think the 2 movie would be about bonds (Sauce and Nardo's) after all the title couldn't be more direct: "Naruto the movie 2 Bonds" with sauce and nardo on the cover, and you see what we got ![]()

Honestly, NaruSaku never came to mind for me at first, since I saw Naruto's crush on Sakura as comic relief, since Sakura would usually kick his ass if it came up, lol.
SasuSaku was the most likely to me, but that was only because Sakura liked Sasuke. Glad that's not the case now though
Which is funny because it's like SS is dead but I can make NH official. Why? What was her point? I see nothing new gen about her in terms of love. Of course, I'm only saying it as a person who is confused and believed NH, not certainly me.
Nop, just the usuall calm before the storm ;P
Ok, thanks.

I prefer not to jump to conclusions.
I'm talking about Kishimoto's official statement, not the trailer. And that was a response to someone downplaying love as a subplot.
I am too. Kishimoto said the movie is about love. Open-ended. He, again, would've give away a huge plotpoint in a statement. Just as they wouldn't in a trailer. I don't believe it's a subplot, I've said before, I think this movie is a send-off for Hinata and NH (which is her only story). Just because Hinata's feelings are a huge role does not mean that "love" is reciprocated or indicates NH endgame. What kind of crap marketing reveals the entire story before it's released and the manga ends? They keep it open-ended to cause this; hype and anxiety. I think it's incredibly interesting that Sakura was shown twice in the extended trailer. We saw 40 seconds of misplaced lines (probably out of context as they usually are) and cut together scenes. This movie will have Hinata and her feelings be a major plotpoint, but I would bet that it's a movie about all the first loves (which is supported by the movie text saying the characters strong feelings with "clash").

Lol, I know. I'm just happy I started shipping it before the manga is over :sweat:I was one of those hardcore SS fans. But that ship has sailed drastically
Bold: Not hardcore enough
XD

Then you have simply fallen heavily for that Hinata mash up in the trailer.
The world is ending but we are going to focus on Hinata's feelings. Come on.

Yep that's Hinata...Remember when Neji died and she's thinking about Naruto's hand? xD

I'm not assuming anything will be canon. I'm pointing out the likelihood of events based on information we so know, because people's "positive" conclusions are so unlikely that it's making me feel worse.
Hinata gave Naruto a romantic scarf.
"It must be her giving up on him!".
Sakura tells Hinata something and she blushes.
"Sakura must be encouraging Hinata to give her boyfriend a romantic scarf!"
I'm not going to even bother with what someone's professor said. She told him the series from her perspective, it's entirely possible she didn't even tell him all the facts for him to give him a balanced opinion. Plus, that would be assuming Kishimoto is consistent, which isn't very convincing at this point, now that he's added new childhood memories between Naruto and Hinata.
You dont have to be a professor to realize that what kishi is doing here is bad writing and that if you want to have a couple in the end of a story, the characters need to have lots of development together, what NH lacks.
Theres nothing at this point in the story or movie that kishi could do to make NH believable in any way... be it flashbacks or other random kitten he means to asspull in.

I love how Sasuke is still Sasuke. He just sits there while a meteor is falling and he does nothing. He doesn't try to stop with perfect Susanoo at all. He's the same guy who doesn't really care. Once again Kishi shows that he doesn't know how to write Sasuke anymore.
Have you posted the link to that anywhere? Sorry, I missed a lot :/

Which I've told you - time and time again - is dangerous! There will never be consensus, son, among those you have helped to ascend. They will all differ in their views of what it means to be free. The peace you so desperately seek does not exist.
These men are united now by a common cause. But when this battle is finished they will fall to fighting amongst themselves about how best to ensure control. In time it will lead to war. You will see.

I think Hinata is giving Naruto the scarf will be her trying to get her feelings addressed. Will happen early in the movie.
No idea what Sakura could be saying, but Hinata blushing almost always means Naruto, and as very recently pointed out Sakura is not a fan. We know she's compassionate though. Not going to guess on this one.
you are absolutely right, Kishi can be inconsistent at times. But NS has been constant throughout the series. he's inconsistent with minor plot details (like Naruto forgetting to address Hinata's confession) not huge ones he's been weaving for a decade like Naruto and Sakura's relationship.

Cross post from NB y'all might enjoy.
Do you know what I enjoy about the teasers? If NaruHina was endgame, then they effectively gave away the answer to a debate that has been going on for over a decade in the Naruto fandom. NaruHina might be twice as big in the west, but in Japan, it's SasuSaku > NaruSaku ± NaruHina. NS and NH tend to butt heads over second place a lot of the time, though I believe NaruSaku has historically edged out more times than not. Anyway, that's not the point. The point is, if we are to believe that NaruHina is going to be canon, then why - and I'm not even going to touch on the manga for this - why would they market the movie in a way that alienates a significant portion of the fanbase before the movie is out?And if NaruHina is endgame, where does that leave Sakura? Surely, if not with Naruto, she would be with Sasuke, right? If that's the case, then why wouldn't Studio Pierrot leverage the popularity of the biggest hetero ship in Japan for marketing purposes? They did it with Road to Ninja (they even had extra merchandise for Sasuke like perfumes lol), so why not now? Even if the movie was going to focus and canonise NaruHina, and even if SasuSaku would get a separate entry into the new era project or was never meant to happen, that still doesn't explain why they wouldn't tease SasuSaku fans like they did with RTN. They could've juxtaposed NaruHina and SasuSaku designs together - you know shippers would lose their kitten over that, so for that not to happen is suspect.Going back to NaruSaku - if it wasn't going to be a thing in The Last, then why do we have Naruto and Sakura designs juxtaposed together, why do we have the narrator alleging Sakura's "increased womanhood" (seriously wtf does the even mean?) will have some kind of effect on Naruto, why does Sakura have second billing like she did in RTN if this is supposed to be all about Hinata, and perhaps most tellingly, why the f-ck would they have this quote from 297 on the official website?NSThis kitten doesn't even begin to make sense if NH is supposedly endgame. All you have to do to shoot that theory down is ask the right questions.

Can you again say what the beginning love translation was?

kaguya has already explained it very well... I couldn't have added more. It just "The last story is the first / start of love"...

Just because it's not believable, doesn't mean it's not possible.
True... thats the problem

Could that be put like 'its a story of the first love or the start of love' ?
