Nah, it not that. It's just that Madhouse sometimes make cameos in series from other series they animate.. But I seriously wonder why Madhouse decided too use that anime, as a cameo too Ore Mono..

Heidi is an old classic. Used to watch it all the freaking time when I watch younger. I still love it. It's pretty popular in Germany as far as I know of.

But isn't manga/anime's popular in Germany?
Well, while it is considered an anime, I don't think many of the watchers considered or even knew that it was an anime. 3 reasons why Heidi is popular in Germany:
1) Highlights the beauty of the Austrian/swiss Alps and nature
2) The Opening: remains popular until today b/c it's very catchy
3) great story XD Seriously, I loved how Tsundere Grandpa slowly started to warm up to his granddaughter Heidi.
Now that I think about it, back then, I watched a lot of kids shows similar to Heidi that were produced in Japan as far as I know of. There's the Wonderful Adventures of Nils, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Maya the Honey Bee...

Hayao and Isao both founded Studio Ghibli. He's not as popular as Hayao, but nevertheless just as good as the former in directing in my opinion. He directed Graves of Fireflies, Only Yesterday, and Tale of Princess Kaguya, etc.
