Correction. Being nice to Sasuke is Sakura's favorite.

sasuke shouldn't be listed under her favorite at all tbh, whether it's for platonic or romantic reasons.

I don't think we should really take the "Favorites" seriously. Naruto's is ramen even though we know he cares about his actual friends more than ramen. Minato's is Jiraiya's first book instead of Kushina, and Kushina's isn't Minato either. Even for Obito there's a picture of him helping an old lady instead of Rin, and I highly doubt he would have been willing to kill thousands of people and take over the world for the old lady.

NaruSaku is semi-confirmed (both making mutual POALs and Sakura doing everything she can to pay Naruto back for all of his love and support). Sakura's favorite ninja is still Sasuke. Nothing we didn't know.

What exactly was the exchange on Sakura's part? I'm just really curious.

The reason is the databook is not giving the ending away.  What you may or may not want to consider is why you think that "favorite" blurb is more important than then stark contrast found between Naruto and Sasuke's section.

Karin also has a reference to Sasuke as her favorite...but there's a difference between theirs, you need to read the translation for Sakura and Karin's favorites

I honestly thought it would be Tsunade. Well, you know Kishi. He just had to troll. HE CAN TROLL ALL HE WANTS BECAUSE HE WON'T BE ABLE TO TROLL US ANYMORE IN THE FUTURE. I'll miss him. :/
