The translators can be really slow... I still haven't forgot this whole stuff about calling the readers "kittens" for being impatient with the translations of the chapters.

Against my better judgment I'm going to tread in here. I am about 10 chapters in and I really enjoy it. But after the Naruto ending I really wanted to avoid getting a ship. But I can totally see myself getting invested in TouKen. Should I stop now or press on?

Glad you enjoy it so far.

Well, as you can see, many of us who have started reading TG ship or at least consider Touken to be a possibility. Romance in general is presented in a very natural and subtle way in TG in my opinion.

Tbh, Touken does not have that many moments together, but the moments we have, speak a thousand words- oh, and they are hilarious when they are together (hmm, where do I know this from in Naruto). I absolutely love the dynamic b/w those two individuals. There will be a time when a big change will occur, but it only makes their affections for each other more obvious and even stronger.

It's kind of been hinted that Amon would be turned into a half-ghoul, considering the way he was being given special attention from Aogiri and Doctor Kanou.

No no, I think Hide is alive. There is no way that Hide is dead b/c if he is... I prefer not to envision this scenario. Most likely he will be the last person to be reintroduced in :re. Haha, I don't want my Hide to turn against Kaneki- I've had enough from best friends turning evil aka Sasuke.

I really like Root A, but as expected the response is mixed one season 2. Good pacing, good focus on the side characters, but Kaneki is too sidelined for me in this season- so far.

The scanlators are slow, but the wait will be worth it. One hint: crossdressing

 

I like him in season 1, but season 2 so far... meh.

Yeah, I don't want Hide to die either. And neither do I think he'll become bad. But I hope he gets some important role to play.

And well, :Re's probably gonna go on for a long while. There's just so much to be known, and the author also keeps throwing in new bits of plot.

I don't like all the dumb missions they do, they're just like "let's go" "right" plus Kaneki isn't being my Kaneki...

 

I think that's what's being hinted at. As in, Kaneki's not being his real self. He's acting. I mean, they placed a lot more importance [though subtly] on that "He was the star of a play," thingy. He's probably acting this way so as to not become too obvious about his plan of destroying the Aogiri.

 

I want him to talk more though.

I saw the spoilers for this chapter already. I swear to God, Sasaki makes surprisingly a very attractive woman XD (Not so much Shirazu though).

I thought it was disappointing to not have seen Hide more often throughout the manga. For someone so important to our main character, it is not enough to simply show us a few flashbacks and ranks of most important individuals to Kaneki. We need to see him more in action, may it be as a human, half-ghoul, CCG investigator or whatever else.

Touka is probably one of the most beautiful female characters I've seen in mangas in a while! I was so baffled by her beauty when I first saw her in :re. How much effort did Ishida put into that one page in Ch.9? And that sad smile in Ch.10?

I give :re at least three to four years. That in my eyes is a good time length.

I don't know if it is just me, but I have a feeling that Ishida will incorporate more mature and explicit details in :re. This is my first seinen, so I have no idea what kind of liberties Seinen have that Shounens don't even dare to approach. That whole nutcracker case is... something different for me to see in mangas once in a while.

EDIT: Speaking of nuts, you kind of reminded me of this grotesque internet manga Ishida is writing. It's called "kitten-Man". -Yes, you read that right. Ishida is drawing an internet manga with a main character whose head is literally that of a kitten. I almost spit out my coffee when I saw a pic from the manga on tumblr. Have not checked it out so far and will not in the future either. I tend to prefer not to associate TG with this manga- doesn't always work on certain days.

Where can I get these raws? Honestly, I've been waiting so long, it's becoming irritating. Add to that, I don't even know when Boku no Hero Academia's supposed to be updated. Fridays I guess.

 

Another thing I don't understand is where Kaneki got a Koukaku kagune. ._. I mean, I've not seen anyone apart from Tsukiyama with one of those until now [If I'm not forgetting somebody]. Did the CCG experiment on him or something?

I think he'll kill Arima at the end. No doubt Arima will have something to do with Kaneki's past, and there's even less doubt that Arima will try to hurt Kaneki's ghoul friends. I smell Kaneki crushing Eto and Arima in a three-way free for all.

i think he'll leave the CCG after he finds out that he's a tool for them, and they probably had something to do with his past. He won't remain their ally, I don't think.

What I find the most interesting about Kaneki's Kagune (even more than his apparent Kakuja change, as you pointed out) is that it contains/can use several different types of Kakuho apparently. It's a Rinkaku, like Rize, the three clawed hand thing was Yamori, I think he was a Kinkaku, and then he can also do Tsukiyama's sword, which is a Bikaku. The only thing we haven't seen is a Ukaku from him omg if he can use Touka's wing at some point, I'll fangirl. Eto's Kagune possesses the same trait, Eto can use multiple Kakuhou types.

The only couple I truly ship is Touken. Rize, pls: I ship her with herself the egocentric and psychotic lady she is.

I hope Kaneki crushes Eto b/c there really are fans that ship KanekixEto. It didn't even earn the status of a crackshipping.

I honestly don't think he'll piss off right after he retains his memories. Eventually he will, but I'm interested to see how Sasaki will cope with getting back all his memories. Shironeki is not dead as we have seen in that serpent fight, but Sasaki won't just shed of this new self of him that revolves around the CCG. I kind of imagine him keeping it a secret first, the good actor he is.

Ha, GammyDas also noticed something weird with Kaneki's Kagune! The CCG might have implanted more Kakohous in him? I mean he is a SS rank ghoul! That's a damn high rank with you ask me. Imao, NO. Touka's wings belong to her alone . Kaneki should not even consider copying Queen's wings.

My thoughts to the newest chapter:

Ch.13

Finally! It's been almost two weeks since Ch.12 was released. Hopefully next week, everything gets back on track with the monthly releases.

By introducing and revealing each of the Quinckes' past and fears from early on, the reader realizes why Sasaki wishes to not only mentor but protect them. Saiko's past- did not expect that T_T. Where in the world is her brother? Will we soon get to see a meeting b/w her and her brother? Aha, so it looks like Saiko's control over her Kagune might be the strongest.

We get to see more characterization of Mutsuki and how oncomfertable the mens' stare make him- but his inner core still wishes to be a girl. These eyes lead me to believe that he must have had a tragic encounter with a man back then. Maybe he was raped, I don't know.

Shirazu. He has become more patient and understandable towards Kaneki. I love his development.

This is a good question? What will happen once Sasaki remembers who he is? Will Shironeki return, or will Sasaki's character blend in with his past self?
