This is just what i'm talking, for Naruto it wasnt romantic.
if we talk about reader's perspective we have a huge amount of romantic scenes, if we talk about characters so we have two or three scenes (of mutual)
I was talking that this scene didnt made any hint of Naruto >> Hinata.
And I said I agree, but that wasn't my point. The point was, even though the chapter wasn't mutual, it was romantic.
I agree. I don't think Hinata's story is concluded, and I didn't see it the last few times we went through this (with all Hinata's little fawning remarks at the beginning of the war).
I think if anything Kishimoto has left a breadcrumb trail for this pairing since the war arc started, as well as for Sakura.
Hinata's thoughts have been romantic, and their interaction from her pov has a fulfillment of those thoughts.
Naruto slapping everyone else's hand wouldn't have lessened her one-on-one interaction any. She just confirmed that it was the resolution of what she had been thinking and wanting. To stand beside him and hold his hand. She didn't mean that as a friend, and she ain't gonna stop now that she's gotten it!
And I completely agree that this was a romantic, fan-servicey moment. The images look like something off of deviantArt. Not from the manga. Anyway, I agree with where you're coming from!
Thankyou. I actually thought the scene was a fanart the first time I saw it on Tumblr. I just don't think we're out of the woods yet.
We can apply this moment as romantic to the audience, but we shouldnt see it as any moment that brings NH any nearer to canon, since there was no romantic sign from narutos side.
As said the audience can see it romantic but the moment itself was just for Hinata development not to make NH closer to canon.
@NaruSaku4life3g: Fully agree there!
He sat there and didn't do anything, so it wasn't a downright rejection either. Maybe Naruto hasn't decided yet, or maybe his ignorance about Hinata's feelings are still a running gag.
That's the funny thing how many non-NS fans would say that Sakura's hug was romantic though?
Somewhere in this fandom there is a major double standard, and that's what bug me. You're being asked to accept the romantic light of Hinata's hand holding, but if you went and argued the possible romantic light of the NS hug back then it would be dismissed as platonic. And I'm not saying that dismissal was unreasonable but if you make that argument the standard applied to that hug apply here.
There are arguments to say there is some romantic context to both of them or there is no romantic context to either. I have yet to hear why Hinata's scenario is more plausibly romantic. then the Sakura hug.
Yet tons of people wholeheartedly accepted the Hinata hand holding as romantic just by face value. Some of these same people of course were quick to judge the NS hug as platonic.
So what standards of context are people using to decide what does or what does not have romantic context?
Wait, are you calling me a non-NS fan?
I've never suggested Sakura's hug was anything less than romantic. It was probably one of my favourite scenes in part II. If you actually read some of my posts down the line, you would've realised I was comparing Sakura's hug to Hinata's face-touching because they were
both romantic, despite not being a kiss and not being reciprocated. Personally, I think Sakura's hug can be considered more romantic if you consider what both of them had been through at that point. However, I wasn't comparing which scene was
more romantic, I was simply comparing the two to argue that they were both romantic.
It seems like I've created a monster here. Everybody seems to be keen to jump me and dissect how Sakura's hug was more significant. Unfortunately, I'm not here to argue that naruhina is leading the race.
