Depending on where is pointing, you will either see a reflection of yourself or of something/someone else. With this, you can see if you have to adjust something about your looks or things like that.

 

Unless you're making allusion to the paranormal story of "The Mirror of Truth", where the mirror gives a physical reflection of your personality (I'm actually serious about this).

Here is a food for thought before I go. To whom ever wishes to think:

People of the NS choose not to bash Hinata or NH because we'd feel if we did we will feel like we are better than them. However, if it is true that we are no better, than why do we feel we have to be better by not resorting to those tactics? Some argue we don't need to, but here is a weird circular logic for you. If you say we are no better, but assume we are better people because we don't resort to cheap tactics, wouldn't that mean we think we are better than them? If the goal is to assume we are no better than NH or SS fans, then by not using their own tactics means we are better than them or at least we clasify ourselves as better and thus we already failed in our mission to be no better.

Food for thought.

It is such a bad idea for me to be thinking and reading that when I'm still recovering from a hangover.
 
I disagree, that "goal" confuses me so I'm not entirely sure WHY people would make that a goal, because that is clearly way too generalized for me to find a proper answer to respond. Whoever considers that their goal, needs to understand that being in a fandom is never about them and what makes them so special. It's counter-productive to what they're really there for, which is to worship the ground and air their interests exists in.

Um, I guess in some way if one consider's bashing as a tactic within a raging war-zone, then the general purpose it serves is to elevate the preferred character/pairing by degrading the opposing character/pairing. I don't see any tact in it though, and merely see it as a person reacting with a defence mechanism against what they perceive as an oppression (directed at their personal likes). No tact, just human survival instincts kicking in the guise of a retaliating opinion. People lash out by directing negative projections onto others as a means to turn their targets into caricatures of nothing good.

"Sakura's so weak, she does nothing and has not figure, unlike Hinata who has always loved Naruto from the start."
 
Bashing has become a pivotal means of basically raising their interests onto a better level with opinions and reasons that absolutely make no sense at all.  If Hinata likes Naruto and displays selfish traits that people skew as something wrong and twisted just to justify that she is not the girl for him, then they ARE not better than people who mutilates Sakura's ability to care for Naruto just because she was mean to him in the beginning. All bashing does is pit two completely different girls and put them in some bizarre and spartan Miss Universe pageant for the sake of shipping (Which is incredibly wrong and perverse). The only ones who will probably take this gladiator-ish idol contest seriously are the ones who are seriously hurting themselves by hurting others.
 
People say really mean and dumb things when they are butthurt.
 
If a person finds that their favorite character or pairing are not getting the spotlight they want them to have, they will react with that very defence mechanism against what they perceive as an oppression. That oppression just happens to be in the form of "Oh my god, why is my fave character not  there, what's so great about that OTHER character, he/she looks ugly."
 
Which becomes a public opinion that will cause others who disagree to react with the same tactless means, because no one like's to see untrue and mean verbal lashings at their interests. Defence mechanism kicking in full throttle.
 
We live in a world where freedom of speech gets taken for granted and people who are careless with their words cause hurt unto others who will use their own freedom of speech to retaliate because that's just human nature.
 
If a person sees that bashing as a vicious never ending cycle that inflicts pain, then yes, they HAVE to be the better person and stop. Sometimes being a better person means letting others (even your enemies) to see the better person in you and in turn try to be better a person themselves. Being a better person does not make you superior because the world should not revolve over how amazing you are by not stooping so low and human. This whole madness should not be a power-struggle of who or which fandom is better.
 
Being a better person means taking the red pill, open your eyes to the reality that your words hurt more than they should and respect and gentility is the better approach to get your opinion across. How did Neo beat Agent Smith? By not fighting in the end and accepting Smith's virus for the sake of the people of Zion, not himself. Being a better person means accepting things while thinking of others.
 
It's that simple. I don't think not-bashing should even be a mission, just common sense that needs to be reminded to everyone who's ever been hurt because of their interests. I've been hurt by comments by people who generally don't intend to hurt me specifically, but I can't help but disagree and I try to politely express my own opinions back. And if I can't find the words to be humble and forgiving, then I don't respond and move on. I don't think I'm better just because I take a few hits and don't hit back, I just think that I'm better off not taking the Kobayashi Maru.
 
Bashing is a no-win situation.
 
Sorry, I get really carried away when it comes to human interactions and conflicts. I honestly didn't know what to say about your earlier point, so I decided to unleash whatever my headache was willing to come up with. Haha, and if I don't make sense, please tell me otherwise I won't ever know if I'm in the wrong or not.
 

Basically my unneeded opinions about HS/NH shippers, nothing to do with your post but kind relevant to my reasons?

I'm one of the few NS fans who honestly LIKES Hinata and wants to see no bashing or poor objective perceptions towards her character. I like the fact that she's not as strong as others, always covers herself up, shy but supportive to friends, selfish with her love (because it's the one thing she has control over), and young enough to make mistakes but brave enough to take a step forward even if they are small and slow because of her insecurities. She's a girl who likes Naruto for all the simple reasons, not deep or well-developed like Sakura's but it's realistic to what most teenage girls go through and feel. Hinata is no Sakura Haruno, she's not as amazing or strong as Sakura. Because she's Hinata Hyuuga (she's flawed and not perfect) and she should not be compared to someone who is like the apple to her orange. I hate it when people compare the two because they have nothing in common but Naruto. Comparisons are demeaning and a form of bashing, because you are pointing out traits one has that the other doesn't for the sake of having a better value. It's worst when you are basing these values by only focusing just their interactions with Naruto. It's like "Is that all they're good for!?!?" It aggravates me so much because I see that happen so much. It's bashing to the characters and bashing to females in general.

Now people can argue that Hinata's sole existence has always been placed dependently with Naruto because her screen time focuses on him. She's weak and dependent because she likes Naruto? How about She's weak and dependent because she's insecure. She's selfless/selfish and sacrificial because of her undying love for Naruto? How about She's selfless/selfish and sacrificial because she's taking the chance to be brave and take several steps forwards because everyone else wasn't. I'm not saying I approve most of Hinata's actions (in fact most of them give me second-hand embarrassment) and I get that is why people don't like her for because of how Naruto-centric they appeared. It's understandable and I will respect their opinions as much as I can and even agree with...

but when I see people use her actions and objectify by negatively comparing them to Sakura's better actions and judgement when it concerns Naruto, it becomes unsettling because it's a matter of perfection. And a sabotaging pageant is unnecessary when it comes to praising your prefer character/ship. I love both girls for different reasons and it pains me to see them treated this way for the sake of shipping.

Haha, again sorry if I became way too convoluted with what I've been saying and pushed them onto you, but somehow it was really cathartic and helpful for me to gather my thoughts. So thank you for giving me the opportunity to feed myself with a banquent of my thoughts and feelings.
