Nothing noteworthy, really. Just basically, "I don't trust those websites" and "It's probably just because they wanted to see more Sasuke." Nothing about how it was a crappy romance movie about Hinata-hime.

Funny because I was messing around the sites (not just one) and they do mentioned the plot and all, all the time. The Sasuke part is there but like a sentence. Everything is describing everything wrong.

He also commented on the Naruto musical. When it came to Sakura's part he sang a snippet from Ariel's song:" Throwing your kicks you don't get too far. Clones are required for fighting ninjas. I wanna be useful like yoooou!"

And he says he is not a Sakura hater . That's like saying I'm the emperor of China or something like that.

LOL Saywer? What'd he say? I stopped watching his reviews a while ago. Just another example of the type of people in the Naruto fandom. He even had the nerve to say  "Maybe Sakura chose to be a housewife so she can take care of Salad. So she won't end up like a piece of kitten like you (to the people hating on how Sakura was depicted in 700)" 

 

He's a grown ass man yet can't understand simple things like this. "NARUTO" ended with Sakura in her housewife outfit cleaning dust off her shelves. She might as well have been a damn civilian the whole manga. Hell, why would there be kunoichi in the first place if this was their fate? It sounds horrible, but it's true. I swear there is no logic with people like him, along with Forneverworld. Both have openly expressed their lust for Hinata and hate for Sakura, so I guess things like this is expected, haha.

I mean, it's one thing to make reasonable criticisms of Sakura's character, especially post-693. But the whole "she's useless" trope is just terrible; especially when it comes from someone who is a huge Hinata fan.

I've been saying this quite some time. Neither sawyer or whateverworld are reviewers. All they did was make a summary of what happened and then say if they like it or not. Neither of them know anything about stories. If you ask them what is a retcon or what's the plot of Naruto, themes etc. they're going to stare at you.

 

I still remember when Obito was revealed as Tobi and sawyer hated it but he couldn't actually say exactly why it was a bad decision, why it didn't make sense etc. he never gave a proper explanation to why that's was bad in terms of storytelling. He just rambled like a lunatic.

Granted maybe he did after he posted that video, don't really know because I've unsubscribed after that and never went back. And I highly doubt he did.

Yup. And most of the time the people on youtube don't even give a real "review". What they are doing is simply an "impression" video in which they jumble in all their thoughts and opinions.

I do agree to certain extent it does play into that. But how that would explain Attack on Titan, which is not far behind One Piece and it's already been two years after anime yet sold over 10 millions in a year. But back to that theory, I do believe it does contribute to the success, but it does need to be good in order to be successful.
Naruto was in fact good or really good by no stretch, but it was in the beginning and the first impression must delivered in order to win people that would later become fans. As time goes by, it can either get better, which is rare, stay the same mostly, or start to lose momentum. In this case, it's the third one. There has been many discussion on how Naruto sales was decreasing and some would blame on the arc itself, so by default, it's the worst arc ever to cause this problem.
It's very likely that's the case, where the fans start to see something going off and they later drop the series altogether, which is why you often see ads that Naruto is ending and ended up bringing everyone back to see how it all ends. Naruto is one series that I often hear constantly that people leave and moved on or stay but comment how much different it has become to the point you can poke fun of it more so than before, hence becoming a meme itself. I have followed the series' costs and popularity for a while, so yes, the series' popularity was declining. Whether what I said is true or not, it's up to you if you think the same.

Oda has been Oda, an One Piece has been One Piece for 17 years, it's consistency has been the same throughout. That's why it's remained head and heels over Naruto, because Naruto changed, and was constantly changing, and Kishi didn't stay true to what he had initially written. Maybe the Japanese fanbase was aware and mindful of that?

Oda has been Oda, an One Piece has been One Piece for 17 years, it's consistency has been the same throughout. That's why it's remained head and heels over Naruto, because Naruto changed, and was constantly changing, and Kishi didn't stay true to what he had initially written. Maybe the Japanese fanbase was aware and mindful of that?

Just wanted to mention that AoT was supported by a splendid anime adaptation that must have hooked up many westeners who previously might not have read mangas before.

I would say this based on my LAP. The reveal of Obito made sense yet at the same time don't. The reason is because the way to keep it secret was handled in a cheap way. For example, Zetsu was acting like Tobi was a brand new member yet we learned that Tobi/Obito already know Zetsu since the time of Shinobi War 3. How is that he would act like he don't know him again. The other piece is the fact that same guy went against Minato, yet he looked older, taller, and going by anime, sounds deeper. It's all forced in to have Obito to grow that rapidly in a very short period of time. Not to mention, the flashback did retcon Kakashi's age of becoming Chunin, so that's something to consider.

That helped too though this huge increase? It's nuts. I'll go as far as saying it has a stronger impact than anything else. It got a damn adaptation to Marvel crossover.
