That's why I always said that naru vs sasu should happen in two volume.
5 chapter is not enough, it practically only half a volume for the hype battle in this manga.
Exactly! That fight alone should have lasted around 5 months to a year. And it should have been a lot more revealing. Also, Sasuke should have never joined back with Team 7. It would have made the fight more believable.
Kishi's logic is actually really amazing
Dragged out a mostly boring war for 5 years, only does five chapters for the final battle that people have been hyping for years
Which is why I don't understand why people keep supporting him.
I don't believe the fight of SN was going to have all that. Maybe the end, I can buy that, but DBZ power level in rushed aspect, I don't buy it. Heck, it was more realistic in that ova.
naru vs sasu was one of the most boring fights in this series. it wasn't two ninjas going at it, it was two wizards going at it. the series has long deviated from the traditional ninja that part 1 and early part 2 had established. wannabe dbz. yuck!
Well, after the miserable manga ending happened I got busy with end-of-year stuff at work, the holidays, vacation -- all that kind of thing. Most recently I've been pretty under the weather with pneumonia but making a slow recovery.
But I'm back here to help support the troops and commiserate with everyone who misses the real Uzumaki Naruto.

Everyone's different. Heck, even some neutrals like this movie, and we'll never understand why! I'm gonna try and see what my brother, a neutral fan, says to this movie. He also believed that NaruSaku will happen, simply b/c of the way the manga was told and b/c it was the most logical end pairing to him.

Read this. It's calling out the sexism in Naruto. It get's really...brutal at times, but every deconstruction is valid. My favorite part is this:
"Hinata? She spends the first half of the manga thinking about how worthless and stupid she is, because her evil jerk of a dad has demeaned and belittled her for her entire life, in favor of her cousin Neji and even her younger sister. Apparently, Hinata is weak. So we don't even get to see her skills, and when we are shown them they're used to sacrifice herself for Naruto, as she is in love with him. Bonus points? Not only is she knocked away like a little fly after using her most powerful techniques on the person trying to kill Naruto, but her love confession is promptly forgotten. Couldn't Naruto at least find a little time out of his busy ninja schedule to say a quick "hey, thanks for saving my life!" or something? He could at least have sent her a card while she was in hospital. What? Naruto has refrigerators and bottled milk, what do you mean they don't have hallmark or postage?"

I honestly wonder if they care about the story, I mean I'm not saying that the way I read it is the right way but there are just things you can't defend or ignore.

Agreed It's sad when a video game does the Naruto vs Sasuke Fight so much better than how the manga portrayed it, granted it was the Five Kage Summit Arc.
I mean look:

Also a lot of them haven't taken the time to read interviews. That also contributes to their ignorance.
For instance, many SS fans still don't know that Sasuke doesn't live in the village.

I like it, it's a good commentary.
Now I'm not saying that it's bad to have damsel in distress characters, in my experience there are independent women and less independent women in this world. But that is something that you have to show in the source material. That women are just as complex of a person as men. You have to show that like the real world, women and men do not put up with murderers, that while some women may prefer to be housewives a lot of women prefer to be independent and in control of their lives, and that forgiveness does not come as a bargain bin sale.
If you commit acts of terrorism than you face the consequences of your actions. If you treat women like crap than no woman will ever fall in love with you, If you murder someone than you go to jail, and even in a story if you commit an act of evil than you must make an equal sacrifice to balance out the negativity of your actions.
