Strange, few month ago people here were more optimistic about that, despite Luffy didn't even winning DD 1:1.

I'm more curious on luffy vs big mom.
Personally, I think they will fight.

He'd be fine against Kaido. He wouldn't win 1v1 at this point, but he wouldn't get completely massacred. He hasnt even showed the full extent of what he can do yet.

I feel NH genes in you with that salty quote
It took luffy 2nd round to show some real streght. Besides Oda always gives him new moves so his "potential" won't help him in 1:1 with somone who owns someone who Luffy coudn't handle by himself.

Based on what oda usually write, he will do 1v1.It doesn't have to be 1v1. It's not Naruto or DBZ, sometimes, standalone power isn't enough.
The only time he doesn't do that is against world government.
It's not the rubber who make it strong, it's luffy that make rubber the strongest.
@naruto
Luffy sometimes lose in first round and bounce back in second round.

We'll see. I don't mind either one, so long it's credible.Based on what oda usually write, he will do 1v1.

luffy isn't strong enough to take him on by himself. he's get the jack treatment.
Well he never said "and win" did he?

I can't believe Kaido obliterated Kid. That right there sent shivers down my spine. I was like oh God Luffy you've done it this time. kitten just got real, no more pirate games!
I'm also really liking the way Luffy has been behaving since he arrived on Zou. He's still himself, what with his goofy moments, but Im definitely seeing a more toned-down mature version of him. We don't get to see that too often, except when he's fighting. Sometimes I tend to forget that he's capable of behaving that way. He's been competent about everything that's transpired and what needs to be done to fix it. His no bull attitude to saving Sanji, his refusal to help Momo at first, and his snippy attidude with Chopper in this last chapter is a breath of fresh air when it comes to how Luffy is in most chapters. That's just me though.
I also can't believe that Sanjis bride is indeed that 3 eyed girl we saw one of the first times we saw a big mom. I wonder how he's going to dig that extra eye, more of her to love I guess ❤

at this point in time, luffy can't beat kaido. now he can do some minimal damage to kaido with gear 4 of course, but defeating kaido with gear 4 isn't happening, not now at least. when luffy went gear 4 against doffy, doffy became child's play. but kaido far outclasses doffy, so much so that doffy fears kaido. there has to be more to gear 4 that oda hasn't shown us, not to mention devil fruit awakening and coc. if it turns out that luffy has more up his sleeve, then he'll definitely take out kaido, with a little bit of help of course.
i highly recommend that you all watch this. it's a great explanation as to why luffy will more than likely take kaido out.

since i am not up to date with one piece yet i will not read the above posts. im currently at episode 165 (cannot continue watching because of school). but here are my thoughts so far. is it just me or is skypiea a boring arc. it doesnt seem like it has anything to do with the actual plot. no interesting fights so far and im not like the idea of angels in the sky considering the theme of this anime is about pirates. discovering an island in the sky was very cool though, as it shows that not only oceans can be discovered in one piece world. the sky night is a cool character as well. i just don't see any interesting new villains and battles so far in this arc. i cant wait to finish this arc and see who this enel guy is.
alabasta arc probably the best arc so far along with arlong park arc.

I actually really enjoyed Skypiea, but it's easily at the bottom of most people's list of best to worst arcs. As much as I love Enel and Skypiea, it is probably also my least favorite arc. But for that arc to be considered amazing, but the worst arc, speaks volumes about how One Piece is the best anime.
Just started One Piece. Read Volume 1 in Barnes and Noble and immediately bought up to Volume 50 and I'm glad I did! This series hasn't disappointed me yet! Up to Volume 25 right now. Gotta say that Sanji is my boy right behind Luffy, though I fluctuate between the two on who's my favorite.
Zoro and Sanji go back and forth between 2nd and 3rd favorite character for me.

If you're on 165, you're nearing the end, and the end is good. Hopefully you were paying close attention to things right before the arc started...
Anyway, Skypeia wasn't bad to me, but it wasn't the best either. OP is just so good all around that it's easy to overlook arcs because of the success of the series.
Lol Christ, that's like 250 dollars XD I bout the first 25 a while back, I absolutely love the series. I'd get more of the volumes, but I'm poor as dirt XD Luffy is my fav. Sanji is good, but can be annoying at times. I just don't like the way he treats Nami and Robin. Other than that he's cool. The best has yet to come from him!Just started One Piece.
