No you have a right to call someone out if you think that they are doing something wrong.
I wouldn't go so far as to report him. From what I have seen he's not harassing anybody but do what you think is right.
I moved on from Naruto a long time ago. When 693 came along I gave up on Sakura's character. And with 699 I gave up on NS. I don't feel sad or angry. But a part of me doesn't accept it and a part of me does. It's like after you move on from breaking up with someone. You feel happy that you have moved on but a part of you wonders what really went wrong and what might have been.
I know that women's rights and attitudes are different in Japan, but this isn't even about that. This is about the rights of a person. He tried to murder her several times and mind raped her. No matter what culture you are from cold-blooded murder is a serious taboo even from an eastern perspective. I don't feel that Naruto was progressive in any way. I feel like it was counter progressive completely. I've been in 3 relationships and while I know that mine are more western I can tell you that if I had done half of the things that Sasuke or even Naruto did (ignoring confessions and not seizing moments) I never would have gotten to know any of those ppl. Hell Japan's birthrate is declining. My guess is Japanese women are fed up with this kind of treatment.
You are completely right. I have detached myself morally from this story because it has many flaws, and I see it for what it is. It's plain abusive, but that same goes for Naruto's relationship with Sasuke. You do not have to date some one to have an abusive relationship with them. It's why I'm more willing to look over Sakura's own relationship with Sasuke. Kishimoto went flat with Sasuke during Part II, probably the result of him being forced to bring back Sasuke sooner, etc. etc. Who knows.
Japanese women actually prefer not to be in marriages because it's easier on them! They do not have to abandon their careers. Because the moment you get married you are guaranteed to get laid off. There are not laws like in America where you can sue the PISS out of your employer for pulling something like that. God Bless America. This country has its flaws..but it has came a LONG way in a SHORT time. And this is me as a black woman saying this!
The men in japan do not like the stress of getting married, having to work their ass off even harder to support not only themselves, but an unemployed wife and children is not appealing. It's not like the women or men in japan do not have sexual or emotional needs, but with technology now they can easily fulfill those needs without risking even more stress or unemployment.
You know what they could've done? Spin-off. That way they can make more money and readers can read about Sasuke all they wanted until he was reintroduced into the main manga. They would've made a killing off of it too.
Or even better, "split" the story in half. Give Sasuke's perspective and his adventures or whatever bs more, and then Naruto's, from time to time switch it up and have other chars POV. Honestly he should have done this more with the HUGE world he portrayed. Screw the old form of wasted training arcs. Have those kittens train during battle and compensate for all the free space you have now in your story and give other characters background development.
