So you think we will see NH canon in the movie?

I don't jump to conclusions. I just analyse facts.

@NarutoUzumaki01:

I know we've just seen a trailer, but look at what we've seen so far. Hinata's little sister, a character scarcely relevant in the series, gets kidnapped suddenly while we see a NH flashback that we've never seen in the manga even more suddenly added in along with the stupid scarf stuff that's also never had any relevance in the manga. All this was dropped and thrown in her faces just to give Hinata relevance. I will admit this is just speculation, but we have reason to think she plays at least a decently important role.

@Nefertieh:

This is Kishimoto we're taking about. Not only is Hinata not even a main character and therefore usually less likely to get what she wants if it conflicts with the main character, but Kishimoto certainly loves to screw with ships and tease and drag out drama as much as possible. It entertains him. Look no further than the NaruSakuSasu love triangle we had to put up with for years on end when it should've already been taken care of. This quirk IMO makes the believability suffer and sometimes puts a damper on the character's development. Sakura's thing with Sasuke and Hinata's with Naruto are shining examples.

Hinata's closure might actually been seen as a good thing for her. It won't be tragic, not if she accepts it and moves forward with her life. I still doubt that will be the only part of the movie though. I'd also like to add: just because you think any Hyuga relevance or Kaguya backstory is unnecessary doesn't mean Kishi does. And I honestly think that's more logical than him working on NH canon.

What I think, IMO, is Kishimoto simply wanting more shipping drama for no good reason except his own kittens and giggles. Hinata "closure" would just be an excuse. Because of that, Hinata's character and NS's credibility depending on how this is done will suffer in the process. It will be one of the many things Kishimoto thought was a good idea at the time but didn't think on how it will fully affect character image or canon ship resolution.

I cant see how the manga will hint at NS because if it does all this hype SP created will go down the drain. Its obviously either NH or open ending the latter of which is favourable for us because it would mean SP is setting NH up for trolling because there was no reason for them to be so transparent about the canon pairing if it wasnt going to be shown in the epilogue

Hm. Yep, NH movie would be logical if Naruto weren't in love with Sakura for the whole time in manga.

If Kishimoto chooses NH, what will be of NS and Sakura (as Naruto's love interest)? How will he resolve that? NS>>>>NH when it comes to the content of his original story. Sacrificing NS seems an unreasonable decision. What is the purpose of all those NS scenes then? Don't you think that is a little bit too much of a diversion for the endgame NH?

The only way NH would be logical is if they had split NS and NH development right down the middle. Not even close. It's always been about Naruto and Sakura and Sasuke. For the majority, it's been about Naruto and Sakura AND Sasuke. Naruto is not all about romance, but it is completely about bonds. And in the case of Naruto and Sakura, they have had, to the point any argument is just ridiculous, the MOST development, both as comrades but always also accompanied by a romantic undertone that has been pressed and brought to surface several times. Too many characters, too many moments, too much growth for it not to happen. I'll admit I was concerned until I started reading the manga again, even up to now. People may argue but I doubt even Kishi is dumb enough to throw all that out the window because a likable side-character is in love with the main. There's just no way to top the profound and deep relationship Naruto and Sakura have developed. Can't do it if he had a hundred more chapters. It's been there growing from Chapter 1.

Not to mention that if Sakura rejects Naruto for love of Sasuke, when we know that he still loves her even up to the current manga chapter (the entire fight from Obito to now has been over the course of a few days and we've seen several instances where it's clear Naruto still loves her (talking to Minato, BOTH times. And no, Naruto saying that it isn't going well isn't anti-NS, it's actually pro. It's clear he was talking about Sakura, and was still TRYING), it would mean that all of her growth, going from shallow girl crushing over a dude she thinks is hot has blossomed into...shallow girl crushing on a dude she thinks is hot. Compared to Naruto, she barely knows Sasuke, and what she does know should envoke pity and simple human compassion (which I would argue she feels, given Kakashi's recent statement that her feelings have changed from romantic love to just teammate love).

NH is illogical because it cannot hold a candle to the relationship built between Naruto and Sakura, which is very clearly, even till now in the manga, not brotherly or sisterly, but one of deep and profound mutual reliance, trust, attraction (read the return chapter) and love. It's so completely obvious who the endgame should be, that the only reason I am concerned is if Kishi just didn't know how to end the ships and handed it over to SP, who are Hinata fangirls, and threw away an amazing story of two faulty but realistic heroes and how relationships change.

It cannot be understated how big Kishi will have messed up the story and threw away Sakura's development if she goes back to Sasuke and Naruto, the man who doesn't give up and hasn't given up on Sakura even when she thought he was just a nuisance, gives up and settles for a likable side-character who has been crushing on him from afar from day 1 and doesn't know him much at all.

Really? Because I  have talked to NH who have stated they are watching the movie regardless of what happens in the manga. Even going as far as to say the movie > Manga if manga says otherwise.

Studio Pierott must have an idea of how the manga ends.If its NS why will they tease NH?I know for a fact that if NS is hinted in the manga epilogue, the NS fandom will tear NH apart on that day

Because its SP. They gave NH 1 min and 30 secs and NH ran wild. NH are watching the movie no matter what happens in the manga. SP knows this.

They prepared them for the manga ending with this Hinata full trailer. The movie will have lots of NH moments to make NH happy but NS is there in the end.

Sakura's thing with Sasuke and Hinata's with Naruto are shining examples.

It's not a problem if he makes Naruto change his feelings linked to some forgotten childhood flashback and whatnot. Authors can change their mind, it's not impossible.

As for why the pairings are dragged on for so long - it's simply no different than Naruto becoming Hokage or Sasuke finally being saved. Two people getting together is an ending, there's no more drama after that. That's why teen TV series have people confessing their undying love one week, then them breaking up the next.

(Would it be possible if you quoted my reply and adding yours underneath? Otherwise, I'm not sure what you point of mine you're trying to reply to...)

And I honestly that's more logical than him working on NH canon.

I meant Hinata's love for Naruto as tragic (because she "still hasn't been able to reach him" as the magazine scan says), meaning we're meant to sympathise with her feelings, her perspective in this movie.

I simply think the Hyuuga has as much relevance to the series as Naruhina has.

What I think, IMO, is Kishimoto simply wanting more shipping drama for no good reason except his own kittens and giggles. Hinata "closure" would just be an excuse. Because of that, Hinata's character and NS's credibility depending on how this is done will suffer in the process. It's one of the many Kishimoto thought was a good idea at the time but didn't think how it will fully affect character image or canon ship's resolution.

I've seen a lot of people say that, but in all honesty, until we know more, it sounds like wishful thinking.

I can understand your worries, but please look at other movies like "bonds" and "1st shippuuden movie", where was Sasuke and Naruto was going to die. That's all you need, pure mixing of facts in trailer, don't worry =)

It seems you forgetting that manga is superior to the movie, don't you? There been a ton of NS content in manga AND other "canon" film where Kishi was involved "Road to Ninja". So...

This is the plot about Hinata's feelings:

tumblr_inline_nee7mkJ7KS1qah0cz.png

The feelings that have yet to reach [him]. Where is this hidden feelings heading towards…

"The winter festival is approaching the hidden leaf village. Naruto is enjoying himself in Ichiraku with his friends he grew up and brought alongside with. In that same time (meanwhile), the feelings put forth in the scarf Hinata secretly kintted has yet to reach Naruto. Hinata dislikes herself who always watches from faraway. Suddenly, a mysterious man appears. Naruto barges in at the last second and was able to rescue her, but was told the strange message of "you guys are doomed to destruction. before that, Hinata, I’ll definitely come for you" and promptly disappeared. What is this destiny of destruction? Why is Hinata targeted? In that moment, a meteorite with intensely strong light, pierces through the sky…"

The moon is close! Is this a natural disaster? Or is it an alarm for the Shinobi?

Gokage(s) talk urgently. Besides Raikage, Mizukage, Tsuchikage, Gaara are the head of each country, and… at this situation, the moon will collapse on Earth, countdown of the human extinction has begun. Shinobi is falling into confusion. Naruto goes for an adventure with Sakura, Shikamaru, Sai and Hinata. And they arrive to the bottom of the Earth where a huge curse mark was chopped. In that place “The Plan” and unbelievable name waited for them there!

A new hope for a new era. Don’t give up on the future.

Otsutsuki Toneri, descendant of Otsutsuki Kaguya, the progenitor of chakra, the one Naruto and Sasuke fought to death. Toneri appears, using a puppet army. Against Toneri’s overwhelming power, Naruto and his friends can’t do anything. And finally Hinata falls into his hands. On Earth, and endless rain of meteorites fall on Earth and the battle to protect the world reach its limit. What is this “Shin no Saishuu Keikaku”? What is the sad fate promised to Hinata and the Hyuga Clan?

"Hinata dislikes herself for always watching from far away"

"the feelings put forth in the scarf Hinata secretly knitted has yet to reach Naruto"

She's not even close to Naruto from the start of this movie, and she secretly knits a scarf to give it to him as a present. There's not even any indication that Naruto is reciprocating her feelings from the get go.

The childhood flashbacks are about an incident that happened between them a long time ago. I think Hinata needs to talk to someone about this and I think she tells Sakura to tell Naruto about this because she seems scared to confront him about it for some reason.

Kishi has still had a say. And while SP are fans of Hinata, they have also put out completely NS movies like RtN. They are not going to not finish out the story the way the author wants it to. And I'm sure they do know how the manga ends, which means this may be their opportunity to put Hinata in the limelight for the first and last time, and resolve her feelings for Naruto, even if they aren't reciprocated. The trailers are very tailored, the movie is either going to be exactly what they advertise, which has never happened and would be a horrible business decision to reveal an answer like that before the end of the manga and before the movie is released. SP could be very playing games with the ships with these trailers they very intentionally released BEFORE the end of the manga, knowing that some answers will be provided in the manga next week that goes against NH, as a way to troll one last time.

The movie may just be how Kishi, who has in the past (if Jump interviews can be trusted) admitted that he wrote Hinata into a corner, explains why NH didn't happen and gives those fans some closure by giving Hinata and her feelings for Naruto a little more limelight (I don't believe the movie will be completely Hinata-centric as advertised). Either way, we shall see.

Thanks for this. This lessens that NH craziness IMO.

Two years and still nothing for NH. She is going to stop but before that she wants to take care of that situation that happened with Naruto long ago.

See I said this movie will development the Hyuga clan.

This is the plot about Hinata's feelings:
"Hinata dislikes herself for always watching from far away"

"Hinata's feelings are secret"

"Hinata dislikes herself for always watching from far away" - sounds like she wants to be with him.

"Hinata's feelings are secret" - I'm sure everyone knows they're not.

"Her feelings have yet to reach him - where are these hidden feelings headed towards?" - obviously into a wall, people on this thread are telling me.

She's not even close to Naruto from the start of this movie, and she secretly knits a scarf to give him a present. There's not even any indication that Naruto is reciprocating her feelings from the get go.

Because Naruto must reciprocate her feelings in the first five minutes of the movie for NH to be canon.

The childhood flashbacks are about an incident that happened between them a long time ago. I think Hinata needs to talk to someone about this and I think she tells Sakura to tell Naruto about this because she seems scared to confront him about it for some reason.

She's scare to confront him? About what? The fact that he upset her when she was a kid and now she wants to throw a tantrum about it, or because she fell in love with him?

Ok, girls and boys keep panicking, i'll just wait for the Thursday release.

I'm not panicking per se, I am still hopeful of the manga. But people on this thread are comforting themselves with anything but facts. Which is making me feel worse.

Honestly most of the NH fans are watching it because they believe it to be canon. If the manga confirms NS,their hopes will be shattered.Whats the point of watching all NH moments if it aint canon in the end?

For an explanation why. The story should have it's end in the manga, not left for a movie. And if you translate the words in the extended trailer, it refers to the movie as filling in the "blank" or "gap" period. So perhaps we actually will get an epilogue that takes place in the manga AFTER the events of the Last.

If Kishi does reveal NS endgame in the manga next week, the NH fans would want an answer why. As a NS fan I'd definitely want to see the most brilliant and mind-twisting reason why he built up the relationship between Naruto and Sakura over more than a decade, had so many romantic notions between them, and then threw away that profound and deep relationship to have Sakura be the same girl crushing on the dude she thinks is hot (just physically stronger) she was at the start, and Naruto give up on Sakura when he never has before and clearly still loves her to this point in the manga. I'd definitely want to see that, even if by some horrible twist of fate NH is revealed canon next week. I'd still watch the movie just to find out why.
