NS being canon or open ending are the only destinations to not harm any characters to the extinction.

From a shipping perspective, an open ending would still have been pretty unsatisfactory, but like you said at least none of the characters would have had to suffer for it. Furthermore the series wouldn't have turned into a damn shoujo and Kishi wouldn't have had to insult a large part of his readers.

 

So yeah, I'd take an open ending over the mess we got any day. Naruto was never really about romance anyway. It was only supposed to be a subplot, not the main kittening attraction. It really is true that shipping drama ended up ruining Naruto.

 

Or he could have just ended it with NS, because it's the only pairing that could become canon withtout turning Naruto into a scumbag and Sakura into a shallow fangirl.

There are a lot of series that has romance pairing ending but never made it as the main theme. FMA did it. That's why I said this series lost identity.

They're releasing in a hurry in the US with the subbed version just for avoiding that us people can see pirated copies once the DVD version will be out in Japan (around summer time).

That make sense actually. Because of that, people who wants to see the movie can get a chance by going to the theaters, which requires your money. Smart business move. Damn them.

I know one mangaka drew a tribute to NS back when it was everywhere in the manga, but for another mangaka to draw NS/JT so close to the end, it's like Kishi just spit all over the poor guy, along with nearly his entire fandom. Whoever drew he picture, is probably on the anti-kishimoto side.

 

Anyway, I can only hope that he states that he kittened up, after the stupid mini series and movie are done this year.( If the movie bombs, I could see him saying nh was not the original direction he intended to go, but not before that.)

FMA is a great example of romance done right. You know what I regret the most about FMA? That I can't erase it from my memory and experience it all over again.
