I must be one of the minority that doesn't care that Vivi is back (maybe konahakitten agrees?). After Alabasta, I found her annoying. Hopefully she doesn't start screeching again.

I laughed so freaking loud when I read your comment, my kids looked at me in confusion, ha!! I'm like AHK hasn't forgotten my feelings towards Vivi!! I was a little surprised to see her at the end of this chapter, but then at the same time I wasn't since Oda's slowly been hinting that the kingdoms are getting together for some big meeting or whatever, so as soon as I saw her I took a deep breath and I accepted that she was coming back in some form or another.

If it were up to me she would solely be there as a political figure and she wouldn't necessarily get tangled up with everything at least when it comes to being with them during their adventures. I can see her pulling strings when it comes to having a kingdom supporting Luffy and his crew, so that would give him two kingdoms behind him. I'll take that over her being involved physically with this new arc. I will give her this though, she's had time to grow just like the Straw Hats, so she could have matured during that time.

I know the last time I brought up my reasons why I didn't like Vivi things were brought up such as her reasoning for feeling and acting the way she did. She was compared to Rebecca and how they were both the same since Rebecca did cry as well. However now that dressrosa is over I can safely say that I do not see Vivi and Rebecca sharing any characteristics, except for the fact that they're both princesses. In my personal opinion Vivi's story wasn't that heartfelt or gut-wrenching like Rebecca's was, and I don't think that Rebecca cried and became an emotional wreck as much as Vivi did, and even when she had her moments they were more than called for. It made sense for her to be emotionally crushed. I always felt that things were just pushed a little too much with Vivi's roller coaster emotions and she was just too over-the-top and she stayed that way for far too long.

Yet despite my feelings for her I am willing to push them aside and give her another chance. I would very much like to enjoy her as a character since she did spend a great deal of time with the crew and didn't become a member, so we'll see what happens with Miss Princess Vivi.




In other thoughts I loved this chapter, especially that ending! Everyone's faces when Luffy jumped off of the elephant were hilarious. Seeing Nami reach out to the rest of crew was like she was saying

"I regret it all, please I don't want to go!!"

It was hilarious. I'm also very happy with her new weapon despite what everyone has been saying about it's....design choice. The first thing I thought about was the power poles since it extends. It's going to be great because essentially if she's falling off of something she's not going to need Luffy to save her if her weapon can extend, so that's nice. A new weapon for her means a for-sure fight, I mean I didn't doubt that she would have a fight but at least now we know she's got a brand new weapon so I can't wait to see what that's going to be like.

Why would I have one when she is my 4th favorite character in One Piece? In One Piece alone, I would buy some other things before a figurine of her. She is best girl, yes, but not best character.

Best girl Tashigi is the only character other than Smoker, Zoro, Luffy, and Nami to be seen in every arc. She and Smoker will play a big role in the future of One Piece.

Agreed with pretty much everything you said. Rebecca's backstory was far deeper, she was really more fleshed out than Vivi was. Part of the reason I didn't like Vivi all that much is that she seemed to lack humility (I mentioned her arrogance), which I think Rebecca had an abundance of. Overall, Rebecca was much better than Vivi. Thankfully, Vivi didn't end up joining the crew, because she didn't really add anything to them anyway.

I was happy Nami got a new weapon, I much prefer that over a devil fruit. I can't wait to see what she has in store with it. Her reaction to falling off the cliff was hilarious, and I loved everyone else's reaction XD

While she'll have her own story, it's true that her biggest moments may come in her time spent with Zoro. After all, maybe the connection to Kuina is canon one day.

The same could be said with mihawk to zoro.
I think, it's not coincidence that tashigi has the same face with kuina. Either she's the resurrect kuina or her lost sister, all has some conection with kuina. So I agree that her story one way or another will happen.

I don't think she's useless. She's the major character in alabasta arc.
