Chrono Trigger 10/10 One of the most timeless RPGs I've played that doesn't have the name Fantasy or Scrolls slapped onto. It's one of Square's best RPGs they put out while still under the Squaresoft logo, and I really can't complain about the characters, each of them are unique in their own way, and have their own problems. The soundtrack is amazing, and even with today's advances in sound, there's still something magical about hearing Corridors Of Time. It's definitely a must play for anyone who's a fan of RPGs. I suggest trying to play the SNES version since the PS1 version has small load times during the fights which kinda breaks up the excitement of them.

Halo: Combat Evolved 1/10

By far one of the worst games ever spewed by humanity. The game-play is horridly dull, basic, one-dimensional, and convaluted. Who in God's name would send a one-health pointed Master Chief against an army of Zerglings?

And, no, I did not mistake the Flood for the Zerg, because they kittening ARE the Zerg, only annoying and over-powered and painted tan/beige. This game has no concept of game play other than 'WE HAVE RESERVES- THROW THEM AT THE MASTER CHIEF'. This is a strictly Easy Mode only game, because otherwise you would simply be left to rot with high-powered enemies with no health pack spawn what-so-ever. Even merely calling this a 'game' is an insult to games.

It does not get a 0 because the musical score is half-way decent, and also because the Master Chief is voiced by Steve Downes, whom is severely under-appreciated.

Gosh it's been months since it's release, but I play it quite often

Sonic Generations: 9/10

I don't wanna be a Sonic fanboy and claim this was a 10 out of 10, because it was awesome, just not all that awesome. I'm in no way downplaying the game, I quite liked it a lot...my only reasons for not giving it a 10 are the bosses are a little too easy and the stages that aren't named "Planet Wisp" are a breeze to speed through. Regardless, the soundtrack is amazing and the gameplay is spot on for both Sonic's. All in all, if DLC's do get released, this game could go down in history as the best modern Sonic game ever

Valkyria Chronicles 9/10 a very good strategic warfare game for those RPG fans who loves a good challenge.

StarOcea the Last Hope International PS3 8/10

Ninja Gaiden 3 6/10 why give it such an average score well it doesn't lives to its predecessors. They removed the execution technique so there's no cutting arms or heads it still bloody but less gory. However I was expecting more from the 3rd game to form the NG trilogy and there's only 8 stages not enough challenging for me. I found the game quite easy (I still haven't play in hard mode). The voice acting is very good I love Troy Baker voicing Ryu Hayabusa and Ali Hillis voicing Mizuki, every time I heard them talking I imagine Lightning and Snow from FFXIII talking instead. tongue.gif Anyway online play is good love the new types of gaming like the versus and the ninja trials are even tougher than the second game. Although I can see team ninja making a NG sigma 3 for some reason to squeeze more money from the fans.

Tales of Graces f 10/10 what can I say about this game? I love it, beautiful visuals, great voice acting (as always Laura Bailey as Cheria does an amazing performance as well as Kate Higgins voicing young Asbel and Pascal, also Cassandra Morris voicing Sophie), awesome battle system the best I've seen in the Tales series any Tales fans would want this game. Like the story the main theme about how deep the bonds of friendship are, it reminds me of Naruto especially protagonist who acts so much like him and he faces a similar situation as Naruto when it comes to Sasuke. Love there's another story after main arc, love the anime cutscenes and extra content. There are many selection for the DLC including costumes, weapons and level ups for the party. Quite frankly it was about damn time Namco Bandai release a Tales games here (still waiting for Vesperia PS3 to be release in NA dry.gif).

Seconding the 10/10 on this. I just completed my 5th playthrough and I now have 12/15 of the trophies. I'm missing the 15 gates (grrrr!), Companion, and the one where you free all the sets of desert creatures (I keep missing one...)

Although people complain that the game was short for $15 and only 2 hours of gameplay, the game was never meant to be played only once. In order to unlock all the robe patterns you have to play at least three times. And to get all the trophies, you have to play through some levels four or five times (the gates.... sigh.)

The art direction is stunning, the music is so good the soundtrack is already a big seller and it was just released last week, and it's just fun to futz around the multiplayer mode with random strangers.

You should definitely pick this game up if you have a PS3.

Read my stuff! Some of the stories are even finished! Catwho on Fanfiction.net

Max Payne 3 9.5/10 At first I had my doubts about the game, and after spending quite a number of hours on it in single player and multiplayer, I can say that any doubts I had about the game have been erased. It's another home run for Rockstar with Max Payne 3. The story is involving, beautifully written, cinematic, and each character is interesting. James McCaffery does an outstanding job as Max, and I'm glad they kept him in there. I still got some single player grinds and golden gun parts to find, but I think multiplayer may keep me away from that. The only complaint I have about the game is that sometimes the enemies can be cheap or they're crack shots a lot of the time.

Tales of the Abyss 10/10- still haven't finished the game but I am in love with it, the story, the characters, the battle system everything. I am playing the 3DS version of course.

Kid Icarus Uprising 10/10- another 3DS game that it is truly awesome and freaking long (it's like 25 parts yeah I'm not kidding). I I lend it to my little brother and watched him finish the game in 2 days how he did it? I had no idea.

Resident Evil Revelations 10/10 love it that's all I have to say I'm a hardcore RE fan.

Mass Effect 3: 3.5/5. This game is, without a doubt, one of the best games I've ever played. It was an emotional roller coaster from beginning to end. It captured the brutality of the Reapers as they tear through the galaxy doing what they do best. It was able to even depict the galaxy's number one badass beginning to crack from the pressure.... Something that seemed to have failed in other games such as Ninja Gaiden 3 and Metroid Prime: Other M from what I've heard.

Mordin's and Legion's sacrifice were like gut punches.... Everything from Mordin singing his funny song as the Shroud explodes around with him to Legion actualizing his individuality in the very end before he sacrificed himself to give HIS people self-awareness.... Tali answering yes to Legion's question of "Does this unit have a soul?" clinched it for me....
Excellent, excellent character development, Bioware.

....So why 3.5/5? Damn game has annoying graphics glitches for the PS3 that were distracting. The .5 was for

Syndicate: 6.5 out of 10

I'm an absolute sucker for futuristic sci-fi and/or cyberpunk media, so there wasn't much chance I wouldn't end up playing this. Especially given the fact that it's a reboot of a cyberpunk classic. In all, it's not a bad game - I generally like the mechanics and definitely love the style - but it feels like you learn more about the games world through text files than you do in the gameplay itself, a similar problem to Final Fantasy XIII. Worse still, it feels like it doesn't stand out much in a game market absolutely flooded with FPS titles; they should have just stuck to the original gameplay style, if only so it didn't find itself lost in a sea of generic shooters.

Definitely worth a rental - there's some decent co op as well - but I wouldn't say it's worth a buy.

Darksiders II 9/10 I beat the first game and thought of it as a nice distraction from other major games and I was surprised when they announced the sequel. I got the sequel a few weeks ago and I've got to say it was definitely better than the original and playing as Death is loads of fun. The looting system is definitely where it's at as it gives you countless ways to customize Death. My only complaint about the game is the fact that the end boss seemed a bit too easy even on Normal.

Brutal Legends 8/10

While this game has problems in RTS tower defense, the whole game itself is major fun. The kick back to Metal music both old and new was a real treat. Easily a very under-appreciated game.

Splatterhouse 6.5-7/10

Suffers from clunky jump controls and slight graphic glitches, but once again a fun game to play. Another under-appreciated game I feel as it has a great soundtrack and the game more or less a fun 9 hours.

Both games might not be worth the $60 price tag they had when they first came out, but I got both games under $20 and had lots of fun.

Tales of the Abyss (3DS): 9/10

Review+Plot Spoilers --Click here to view--
I finally beat it! After getting the game 8 months ago! XD

Before this, I had only played three games in the "Tales/Tales of" series, with one of them being a spin-off (Symphonia: DotNW), and another being a port of a Super Famicon/SNES game (Phantasia), so my expectations with this game were mostly tied to how much I enjoyed Tales of Symphonia for the Gamecube.

Basically, I was really really impressed with this game. I thought the real-time RPG gameplay was really fun, which is what I loved about the previous games I've played. I enjoy some traditional RPGs, but real-time elements generally do a better job of keeping my interest, which is a big plus for these kind of games. Overall, I'd say I enjoyed the actual gameplay a little bit more than Symphonia's, though there were a few things I thought the latter game did better. In particular, I had a lot more fun with ToS's "Ex Skill" system over TotA's "Ad Skill" system. It felt a little more rewarding to create your own skills with random combinations. With some Ad Skills, it seemed like these great abilities would just pop up after leveling up, which wasn't quite as interesting in my opinion. Of course, the skills could be deactivated, so that was a plus. I loved the various mini-games, too.

As for the story, I thought it seemed to take off a little slow, only to get really really good near the end. I felt like I couldn't put it down after the in-game time-skip, it was so engaging. The fight between Luke and Asch, with the instrumental version of "Karma" playing...it was just incredible. The Meaning of Birth theme really choked me up. Luke preparing to sacrifice himself was extremely emotional, and that final scene was great, as well.

I did have a few gripes here and there. I thought the explanation for Guy's gynaphobia felt a little awkward, and Anise's extremely short betrayal didn't have a whole of impact on me. Luke's reaction to seeing Van for the first time after Akzeriuth was a lot less climactic than I was expecting, too. And, for crying out loud, how many times did they make you visit Belkend? I know these games tend to make you revisit the same area, but I just felt like I spend way too much rushing back to the lab there. But I dunno, maybe that's just me. sweat.gif

Oh, and some of the voice actors. I didn't really detract any points because of this, since I like Luke, Guy, Jade, and Natalia's voices a lot, but dang. Ion, Sync, and sometimes Tear. I shouldn't complain I guess, since it's not like I can do a better job, but some of the voices just really lacked emotion, or sounded really really awkward (especially in Ion's case). It sounded like they were just reading from a script, with no context of the situation they're reading for. Again, it's not often, but when it happens, it's just....*shivers*

Anyways, despite those gripes, I'd say I really really enjoyed this game's story. The characters were extremely fun, the gameplay was solid, and the story was incredible. Overall, between the two main 3D Tales games I've played, I think I enjoyed Symphonia's story a little more (gol dang, that was an awesome story), but preferred this game's gameplay a little more so. Even so, this is one of my favorite games on the 3DS right now, and I'm already looking forward to my next playthrough. happy.gif

Note: I have never played the PS2 version, so I can't really compare this version with that one. From what I've heard, the load times seem to be a little better on the 3DS, but it sounds like the game is direct port other than that. I did notice that a costume that was apparently only available on the 2nd+ Playthrough was available on this version's first playthrough, so hurray for that!

Pokemon: Conquest (DS): 9/10

I'm not gonna do as long of a review for this one, since I basically bought this game on a whim. I got my sister the game for her birthday, since she loves the Pokemon franchise. I'm not a huge fan, though I don't hate it either, but I haven't touched a game since the third generation. When I read about this game though, a crossover SRPG combining Japanese historical figures with Pokemon characters, I figured it was worth a look.

Anyways, I was really surprised at how much fun this game was. The game takes place on some fictional continent, where Warriors and Warlords make pacts with Pokemon, take them into battle, and battle over territories with armies of Pikachus and Charizards and such. The premise, basically, is that the hero, the Warlord of Aurora Kingdom, is aiming to unify the continent's 17 kingdoms (each one with a certain elemental theme from the Pokemon series), in order to meet the Creator of the Continent (yeah, apparentely there's a Poke-God). All of the characters you meet/recruit/fight are named after a certain figure from Japan's Sengoku period, with Oda Nobunaga being the main antagonist. Other characters include his vassal Ranmaru, his confidant Mitsuhide, and Nobunaga's sister, Oichi. There are lot of other connections in the game that I briefly looked over, but basically most of the characters you meet have some actual history behind them, which is pretty cool.

The only real gripe I had was the tediousness of evolving/leveling up your army's Pokemon characters. Most of the EXP evolutions were simple, but dang, they made it kinda stupidly complicated for the happiness/trade evolutions. I really don't like grinding that much, which is unfortunately what I had to do to evolve some of my stronger Warriors.

I don't have too much else to say on this, other than it has a ridiculous amount of replay value. After the game, you get the option of taking control of enemy/ally warlords and fighting in various other campaigns. The multiplayer is pretty fun too, though I've only played it local so far (regular DS games don't support WPA for some reason). From the perspective of someone who is neutral to the Pokemon franchise, but enjoys Japanese history, I thought this game was a great investment.

It's been awhile since I did reviews so here are my latest ones.

Starting off with:

Tekken Tag Tournament 2: 360/PS3 - 9/10

The long awaited sequel of the original for the PS2/Arcade is finally here and its better than ever! Namco did an awesome job of hearing the fans and responding them of giving them characters we hadn't seen in the latest games of the series and expanding the gameplay system from the previous Tekken 6.

Over 50 characters to choose, including long awaited returns of previous contenders of the past Tekkens, such as Jun Kazama, Michelle Chang, Ogre, and Kunimitsu with new and updated movesets. While there aren't any "new" characters, only updated with an additional fighting style for Julia Chang who now dons a luchadora outfit, by the name of Jaycee.

Gameplay wise, it is updated from Tekken 6. Bounds and the Rage system has been tweaked for balanced the game, giving more options for the tag game. New features include Tag Assault which when the character you're playing perform a bound move, pressing the Tag button will make your partner come out to assist and perform an additional attack for your combo(s). Tag combo is when you perform a move that is consider a launcher and pressing the Tag combo will make you switch with your partner to continue the combo(s).

Graphics are super impressive than 6. Characters can now get wet, dirtied, and covered with mud/muck from the stages. All of the stages are going back to realistic various countries back towards to the original. Countries that include the Philippines, Cuba, Russia, and Poland, never seen in previous games.

The music is outstanding, starting with the Character Select music. If certain tracks are considered "distasteful" in your opinion, you can go to Tekken Tunes to download previous Tekken music DLC for the stages and menus. It also accepts any other music that are in your storage device.

As for Customization, while expanded with tons and tons of items used for battle, many of the items available are very bland. I praised it for the tons of attacking items, customized panel art, adding decals/labels, and editing outfits. However, all characters may have similar designs of customized clothes with little to no variety, until you gain special outfits from fighting gold status battles.

Other than that, this is the best Tekken game to date. We may not see most of the returning veterans but we'll see that in Tekken 7 or the eventual Tekken X Street Fighter.

Next is 2 of the Sega Model 2 collections:

Virtua Fighter 2 and Sonic the Fighters: 8/10

Sega Nostalgia --Click here to view--
A couple of years ago, I had a funny feeling that I will see Virtua Fighter 2 playable on the 360. Glad I'm right along with Sonic the Fighters and Fighting Vipers (I didn't buy that one because I haven't tried its gameplay, yet).

Both games are the perfect arcade ports with online capabilities, but still look gorgeous, especially on full screen. For Sonic, however, we're updated with 3 secret characters that weren't playable in the original and in the console port for Sonic Gems Collection. Dr. Eggman, Metal Sonic and at last, hidden character by hacking the game, Honey the Cat, are fully functional. Although Honey is playable fully in all modes, Eggman and Metal are only playable in Offline/Online Versus (with the Secret Character option on).

I will say this though, you can snag the achievements/trophies with ease within at 10 minutes.
