No one has mentioned this yet, so yeah. Nanatsu no Taizai has received the 39th Kodansha Manga Awards for best Shonen alongside Yowamushi Pedal :

Do you think the manga deserved the award? I'm not sure how to feel about it...

Perhaps so. I don't mind that much. It is a fun series.
Yeah, it's fun, and the characters and world setting are the strong suit of this series. But other than that, I think the series can be so superficial sometimes... I can't recall having seen any valuable messages in this series. The series solely focuses on the story/journey but doesn't seem to reach any complexity. Nothing gets deconstructed, no themes are challenged. It's simply a manga I read for entertainment- I can't for the love of god take it seriously.
FMAB still weighs heavily on me- That's how a shonen ought to be written. Magi is also a great manga that currently explores whether becoming corrupted with darkness is justified when you wish to protect what is dear to you. BnHA, while it's still in its early stages, I can already see how it challenges some of the typical hero tropes. Etc., etc.
Oh well, it's just an award.

Well, to be fair, you can say this series did in fact just went through a huge introduction because again, I thought it was all about getting the kingdom back to the King, but it turns out we got it done in one arc. You would think that would be the end or rather telling your friends the synopsis, only to get it done before you know it. So, now, it feels like we are finally getting the story. I guess you can say it pulled a One Piece with one huge introduction until you get to the first major arc. Perhaps this is that arc.
That or it can be just a DB concept: relax and enjoy the ride.

If I'm not mistaken, it's one out of three major arcs.

Don't this series just roughly put in our faces, that judgment is almost always wrong, and things are not so simple as it seems on surface?

Hmmm, I get what you're saying, but that looks rather poorly executed in my eyes. This has been rather easily been resolved.Every sin was charged guilty for what he didn't done.

It feels like that's covering now or more like going through. Each of them has a problem, but it's ongoing and hold.
Patience is honestly what you need.

Hmm, maybe wait until Escanor shows up, and then decided.
So, as your weekly rants, what did you hate about this chapter ?

What do you think.
Lol nah, I mean, that did piss me off, but that's not what made me give up. It's just the filthy correlation of this story. We had three fights:
King and Ban
The Other Sins
Githunder and Friends
And all of it is just wrapped up horribily. Like how one minute King is on the verge of death, and the next minute he creates an vortex just to be by Diane's side. Not even wondering about the health of the other sins. Or how one minute we're fighting Gowther, and then next minute we're fighting demons, and all of a sudden we're heading for a "make the bad guy seem better" flashback while completely reckoning the importance of Gowther's fight. You get what I'm saying, sort of? Basically the sense of this manga is correlating with the sense of Naruto Gaiden.
I give up giving it chances. I don't even like King and Diane anymore. All of this "Diane losing memories" replay is annoying. And I feel like it's going to be resolved next chapter, but dear god it's such a drag and just....yeah no. I'm better off reading Tokyo Ghoul- the better series.
Edit: Also shout out to the fact that we still don't know why Merlin betrayed Melodias years ago and will probably never know why.

First of all, I'm gonna quote that post about my general impression of Nanatsu no Taizai in case you haven't seen it yet:

Having three stories going on simultaneously and constantly shifting from one even to the next personally bugged me, too. Imao, and about this whole illusion thing: I.Knew.It. That was such an expected move.
Don't care about ships in this manga. Some people say it's well-written, but I think it's underdeveloped, cheesy, and boring- but that's my own opinion.
Merlin- I'm curious about that incident, too, but I've learned to just wait with this series. Eventually, we'll find out.
Well, join us in the TG thread from time to time then XD

Yeah I've read it, and I agree with everything you've said.
And there's nothing wrong with having 2 or 3 stories going on at the same time- it all depends on how you execute it. And this was just executed horribly. I mean we got a random flashback chapter in the middle of 3 fights. There was so much going on that nothing held my attention. And now I'm expected to just be content with King being okay after fighting a demon-which took 3 sins to kill on the other side btw. And of course the other fight was predictable. There's no way any of them could die.
The romance is officially dead in this manga. My personal fav will never happen and my most wanted is being dragged to hell. Lol. But in all seriousness, Diane and King can never catch a break. I feel like all of this is happening just to drag out their story for a longer time. All of the couples are just...terribad.
And lastly, I don't think we'll ever learn about Merlin. I think, along with EVERYTHING ELSE IN THIS STORY, it will be kitten-pulled. Someway, somehow. Because this is a kitten story. Not worth a kitten dime. Kitten.

NU01,
What makes you like this series a lot in compare to the people here?
What makes you like Fairy Tail when right now?
Why I like NnT? Well, let's see?
- More than one main hero? Yes. And his character traits is what I didn't saw in a long time, who had that "perv" part of character in him? Naruto? When it was shown last time in daily situation? Good luck trying to remember those 3XX chapters.
- Story not goes around only around him/her? Yes. Story shifts as gears in car, and it's good for me, One Piece is suffering right now, because one arc is dragged already 2+ years, and half of team was thrown away, there is HUGE amount of characters and Oda doesn't keep up with all of them all that well.
- Intrestnig world? Yes, Medieval Britain - YES, at least something not totally japanese, it's intresting to see how japanese author looks on west mythology and old fairy heroes.
- Many asked questions that needs answers? Yes. There is at least 7 flashbacks for each sin, story of Demons, barbarians, and 4 clans.
Now to what Pix is ranting about?
In my opinion only part of King was executed not well, but Nakaba already showed that he put's every bit on information in manga, not in 10th movie that goes out of story. Again, I don't give a damn about King, he's story ended up, and now his motives are only feelings for Diana and his word to be one of NnT. How King went all fully alive and healthy? Maybe because his battle already was finished before Galan even went to Mel and Group, and previous chapter was based some time after it all, with sacred tree around - King's health could pretty well be restored in hours. Him carring about Dian but not others? Well, pretty much in character. Already many times he left his friends for his purposes, was it word he gave Helbram, was it because he was King of Fairys or because Ban went to whatever place.
Fight with Gowther was meaningless? No it wasn't we got to know who he is, what is his problem, and exactly in the end of that fight it was foreshadowed that Diane lost her present memory of King and SEVEN deadly sins, how long it was? 10+ chapters ago, and it wasn't dropped.
Nakaba trying to create intresting story, without boring parts (what almost happend after Holy Knights conflict, but he changed course of story pretty quickly). His art is pretty detailed, in tier of Oda's league, and he even releases additional "Extra" chapters that have value to main plot [when Mashima of Fairy tail, do 2 chapters per week to just rush stupid and mostly meaningles arc to it's obvious end with dropping half of characters lines], so I wonder how this story is bad? Surely, it has flaws but they don't even cover 1/10 of greatness of this story. When girls ranted about Meliodas attitude to Eli - I get that, it was unpleasent to them, but I never saw it that serious, because than - we could consider Sakura hitting Naruto - as abuse, Nami hitting Luffy and team - as abuse, Kaour hitting Kenshin - as asbuse
How they don't happy about Eli being demsel in distress for 95% of story, but after release of chapter where authors says that Eliz power is key to winning the war and she herself says that she want to fight, Merlin aproves her determination to do train (at the same time as Arthur) - not even word about that, it's ...
To every - his own, I can say for sure - that there is nothing intresting for me in FT, those few characters that is have value to me - rarely get action and if they get - it's only for Natsu to shine even more. And many here - pretty cool with recent chapters of it, and I wonder why? Because it's utter kitten, and had no value at all, and only reason because it went to "old FT style" doesn't mean it's good - because last 100+ chapters of it - is horrible, and I read it without hope, to just end it, and look how many people have same opinion as mine.
BnHA - well, now it's not all that intresting, characters are well developed (except Bakugou, but I feel that his time will come very soon, against this new villian) but story itself doesn't promise anything intresting other than interrupting another tournament (I'm pretty sure that author won't go for this, throwing few villians into center of Heroues show is... suicide).
Black Clover - there is something new and fresh about this story
