I just notice something, I'm almost in chapter 100 and the character who's past is barely shown is Erina (I don't count the Elite Ten just yet as I haven't seen them all) since she is an important character, is the author saving her for later? :O

Either way, I enjoy Hayama and Ryou past since they're interesting characters plus I enjoy their bonds with Jun and Alice because its light hearted after what they have been through

Btw the copy cat guy, I get angry with him but don't hate at all, I felt for him but he may get annoying xD

I kinda hope Megumi and Soma don't get together because even though it's understandable, it doesn't feel right to me for some reason but I'll keep reading to see

Luckily I checked the chapter, so I won't spoil. As for Erina, she is a slow and steady build character. I wonder if you missed the side chapter. That side chapter is pretty important to Erina and her character. The way the story goes is pretty much guarantee Soma and Erina to be together. Not to mention the actual story itself. I think the one part that always prevent other pairings is the theme or "secret"  to the whole cooking. You know, love. Soma only have Erina to target to do his greatest in order to have her say, "delicious." Others, different criteria.

 

I would say this. Who do you think deserve the win, whether that person does win or not?

Ai, Akira was introduced this week! Heblooks really handsome with that white hair, dark skin color, and emerald green eyes. His voice is a bit too deep for my taste though.

I found him less arrogant in the anime than the manga. He's one of my least favourite charactors, though he didn't annoy me anywhere near as much as I thought he would, but I guess that could still happen once the actual competition starts.

She is the only one who hasn't had a full flashback like the others, which is why I feel she's important for later mostly due to the election arc where she shows that she doesn't cry or when the she's looking at the plate to see her unchanging face.

I feel the same with her and Soma, which may be why I find Soma and Megumi a strange pairing, understandable but strange I guess

Yup. When I first read the manga, I thought he was the typical shounen type like protagonist with a big mouth who eventually will fall flatface on his face and realize that he is still miles away from beating his father. But I think that certain chapter in which he hit his fist against the wall made me realize that he takes a defeat up differently than I expected. Quite the impact in that scene.

For me it's that copy guy... I'm sorry, but I just can't take him, lol. His cooking methods are just too unrealistic for me to accept. Like Takumi and Isami much more, but Akira is really cute with Shun.

For me it's that copy guy... I'm sorry, but I just can't take him, lol. His cooking methods are just too unrealistic for me to accept. Same here, the Copy Guy is the person I disliked the most, his image training method is too OTT, though Akira's nose and Erina's tongue can also be considered similar OTT. I didn't like Akira because his methods are too narrow, and relies too heavily on his nose, and for me was the worst possible person to win the competition. The Copy Cat just crepped me out, the way he went about immitating the opponant was just *shudders* and a bit too out their as special abilities go, though it was put to good use in the last chapter but still didn't take away from how creepy it was, and his methods were underhanded, atleast he learnt from his errors and became a better person and probably cook as well, and is not as dislikable.

 

I'm not sure Akira did the same, he showed the same level of arrogance as the french cook to me when he was in a slump, yet it was somehow fine...I felt the only reason he won was because the Mangaka wanted to highlight the whole when a person has someone to cook for line...and his skills had nothing to do with it. even though his softer side is shown I still dislike him, probably more so than the copy cat right now.

 

I don't dislike any other person in the manga, even the crazy stalker girl with the disturbing cooking, and the arrogant number 9 and 8 seat I don't really dislike, though that could chancge once we find out more about them. I also don't include the real estate and Kaarage women, if I did then I'd have to include those random two that keep on talking down to Megumi.

I caught up, the whole catching up with the Elite 8 thing was kinda meh, I didn't want Souma to win...at least he should have gotten second place since he was up the 8th seat but that's just me, if they do have Shokugeki, I want Souma to lose and not win YET against the 8th seat since I want to him and the others Elites interact with each other but we'll see I guess, either way...I saw Isami and Takumi!

Soma's win in the last chapter was fine with me, since he always will work his ass off to prove his cooking skill. But if he one day is gonna have a Shokugeki with one from the Elite 10, I would want him to lose too.

Yeah, it didn't bother me either but I wouldn't want him win against an Elite Ten since we didn't get see much of their skills plus they are on the Elite Ten for a reason which is why I want Soma to lose until probably later on he'll have enough skills to catch up

The thing is about the team effort and gatherings, which Soma succeed. By himself is a whole new story, but here, it's a different kind of battle. He don't have to lose everything. Lose in something that need to be done because of plot. Don't bury the guy. Don't make him opposite of Yugi or Echizen.

I didn't say he has to lose everything, I said I was fine with how he won this one, I just don't want him to win against an Elite just yet, I want to see him improve a bit longer and then go against plus Yugi and Echizen are completely different, to me....they almost never lose compare to Soma who learns from his loss, so I'm not burying the guy at all..I just want him to improve enough to compete against all of them and see the others do the same

He will, but this is a different competition. If he go one-on-one, yeah, that would require a lot of thinking. He can't even satisfy Erina (yet), so he has to learn. Though I do wonder where will this lead to. Besides, Soma should bounce back now since he came back from a great redebut image that I almost thought he went to 3 years skip. Will he lose again? Maybe, but I believe this one is fine and all it was missing was a victory theme from A-Team.

Though I am glad that I'm not alone on the whole winning spree from those two guys. Lol.

Angry with what he did to Takumi? If yes, I thought so.

 

SO, I wonder how Erina will react to the news. Relieved? irritated? both? Something else? Not gonna be elaborated? Well at least Golden week was it is done.
