It could have been, but apparently, we can't have something interesting. I mean come on, zombies vs. humans. Zombies that Kabuto coincidentally have based on the overall series (yes, he got Haku, Sai's brother, etc.) It felt so fan service.

well this series is targeted toward a younger audience, so it makes sense that it felt that way.

I'm still trying to figure out what lessons the younger audience is supposed to get out of this ending.
I could make an entire list, however nothing on that list would be a good lesson.
Which I've told you - time and time again - is dangerous! There will never be consensus, son, among those you have helped to ascend. They will all differ in their views of what it means to be free. The peace you so desperately seek does not exist.
These men are united now by a common cause. But when this battle is finished they will fall to fighting amongst themselves about how best to ensure control. In time it will lead to war. You will see.
