Why did Kishi have to change him

Because Boobnata wanted him and only way to get him was evolve him into Scumruto Recyuuga with the genjustu stone (I used pokemon references like the genjutsu stone is the stones you use to evolve a pokemon faster )

I still don't understand the purpose of turning him into a scumbag. Though I guess SP and Kishi just wanted to make Hinata not look like the second pick so they came up with the excuse that he never really loved Sakura. It's terrible writing that for 699 chapters we're led to believe that Naruto was trying to one up Sasuke that entire time.

Yeah because making Hinata into a princess is way more important than keeping Naruto's character, dreams and wishes. They had to spit on what he fought and what his character stood for.

It hurts when you look back at all those great Naruto moments. The Neji fight, Gaara fight, Sasuke fight, Pein fight. He was such a great character. What did he do to deserve this kind of treatment? :(
