From the third Tokyo Ghoul Novel “Sekijitsu” [Old Days]
Thise time we have a little story about Akira’s early days, reminiscing about her father D:
Summary of Chapter 4 (Mudaguchi):
- A bit of background on Akira back in her academy/university days. She has top results and seems like the perfect girl. [at the top pic you have
Seidou Takizawa being all angry about it, just like he described it in the Tokyo Ghoul manga too]
- Akira meets a boy called Shouta [he’s im primary school, a first year. Picture of him at the middle left]. He tells her about an encounter with a Ghoul group who abducted his father when the boy was still in kindergarten at the 20th Ward. He managed to get away and swore to get revenge on the Ghoul group
- Shouta tries to find them, but one day he found the Ghoul Group being completely slaughtered
- From his story Akira figures out that this incident happened last year, she read about it in a case file. The Ghoul group was called Futamaru and got destroyed by a single Ukaku.
- Shouta tells her that he saw a survivor of the group nearby, by chance. Akira concludes that the Ghoul is trying to flee from the Ukaku and thinks that he can escape in the 5th Ward (where the Academy is at) because many Investigators are in the area.
- The boy asks her to please revenge his father and Akira agrees because she knows what it means to lose a parent. She finds the Ghoul, who’s wearing a ladybird mask.
- Before she searched for the Ghoul, she contacted her father [Mado Kureo]. He surprises the ladybird Ukaku and beats him in a badass fighting scene.
- A few days later Mado talks to Akira and compliments her for a well done job [though he says it in a rather cryptic way, so Akira had to guess that he probably was praising her. You could still feel and see that he really loves and cares for Akira].
- Flashback ends and Akira is in thoughts about her father. That she still feels like killing Rabbit to get revenge too, just like the boy.
- The End

Hope everyone enjoyed the summary
Thanks to Utsune on Mangahelpers for a rough translation, without him I wouldn’t have been able to write this summary.
Random thoughts:
- that angry face of Seidou Takizawa really makes me laugh xD He was a good guy, rest in peace~
- Akira’s really beautiful, even as a young student :o
- still not really a fan of Mado, but there’s no doubt that he cared a lot about his family and in a sense he’s another victim to this neverending circle of hatred and revenge between humans and ghouls =/
- but please don’t become like him Akira, despite all the people you lost!
