Well, they are novels for a reason. A lot of bonuses, nothing that much to cater the overall story. If it were to connect, well, that will be more idea of selling out. Let others do your own work. But again, bonuses. I just find it odd that in Kakashi's novel that Blood Prison is now canon in a retconned location, ceremony didn't happen yet he's the Hokage, and some other things. Seem like it was made on the spot to make the ceremony happen in the novel.
You know, a while ago, I would thought these novels would be I don't know, before 699 ending or something. But of course not, because we need to see how things come along from 699 to The Last. So I guess it was my fault for being that thoughtful.

So basically they announced that they're going to kitten on Sakuras character even further in the near future by trying to retcon her "love" for an abusive murderer to make it seem like her felling a towards him aren't shallow like everyone and their mother knows they are.
