When did Kishimoto said that Tsunade would fight against Pain? And as much as you would love to see Pain's arc as last, it woudn't be one, there was too many plot holes. hell, even war resolved some big things. People can disagree with me, but war had it's own moments, and gone down when all war was - fight agains Jubi. 

I didn't say it should have end at Pain like truthfully so. My true honest feeling is that Pain was the last really good quality arc. I remember a while back in NF and elsewhere, everyone kept saying why not end it at Pain. At the time, I didn't agree only because it needs to solve problems, but the truth is while I said is right technically, the quality never recovered. Kage Summit was the first to notice "One step forward, two step backwards." I didn't want to give in because like James said here, maybe some of us let it slide and hoping for the conclusion for that questionable plotline. When the series ends, all bets are off and my finally came off.

I can't agree that Pain Arc should be the last but I will agree that the quality was never the same after it. And I do mean arc, not parts.

Now I get your point perfectly. It is as you say, ending does all, it either justify jorney or not, and for plenty of people - it's not even close to justifying what we got.

You wanna talk about a narrative that breaks established cultural norms? Make the Hinata spawns come together as two creatures who began to look at each other in a stronger, more passionate and amorous light. It would be the next generation version of NaruHina.

 

Let's see how Japan's fandom reacts to bona fide siblings screwing each other and conceiving inbred mutant spawn that resemble the mutant spawn Hinata excreted. The comedy value of their reactions would be worth it alone.
