OH wait! I just remembered something! Did anyone find it strange that Hinata and not Sakura saw Sasuke at the end of the "Bonds" movie and she said "Sasuke-kun"?

Think that is HINTING at something?

I haven't seen that movie in a while, but the only thing I remember was Hinata seeing him, saying "Sasuke-kun!" and Sasuke telling her to be quiet. I really don't think her calling him"Sasuke-kun" means anything. It seems like Hinata refers to all the males in their age group with the "-kun" honorific, so I don't think it's really anything worth turning heads. From what I've seen in the western fandom, I feel like there's a misconception that "-kun" is romantic in nature, and translates to something like "sweetie" or "honey". I don't know much about Japanese honorifics, but I sort of gathered that, as far as girls addressing guys go, it's basically a step in formality in between "-san" and dropping it altogether. But I suppose there are other factors that come into play.
As far as the actual interaction goes, I took that as just the anime team playing around with Hinata's character, since she's never actually interacted with Sasuke before that movie (or after) in the actual canon. Plus, it just felt sort of random, like Hinata was just thrown into an escape pod (or whatever it was) with a bunch of prisoners and Sasuke just happened to be leaving in the same direction.
On a side note, how pointless was Hinata in that movie? I remember thinking the anime team was going to play around with some romantic drama when I saw that Hinata and Sakura were Naruto's teammates, and Hinata basically just got kidnapped and disappeared for the rest of the movie, LOL.
mmm i dunno- the whole reason i checked out sasuhina is because it is crack- i don't feel like it would work out well in canon- just because in order for it to work well- sasuke needs to do a 360 in priorities, and actually be considerate to her feelings, needs and priorities, not just his own, same goes for her. And he is that, in the crack fics, but he isn't in canon right now, Hinata naturally doesn't know anything about him either, i'd personally find it very strange if sasuhina did happen in canon.
But i have nothing against AU fics of them- the point of Au's is that they different.
Yeah, I think the same way. I don't really take Sasu/Hina seriously, I was just curious if anyone really liked the pairing outside of it just being convenient for Naru/Saku. On top of that, I guess I'd feel like a hypocrite for not shipping Naru/Hina on the basis of them never interacting, and ignoring the absolute lack of interaction the Sasu/Hina pairing has.
I also think the pairing wouldn't really work out too well in terms of the current canon storyline. Sasuke would really need to change his tune, and Hinata would actually need to know something about him. It could potentially work well, if certain parts of the relationship were tweaked a little though, which is probably why it works out alright in fan-fiction.
