Its not like that Hopestar. I wont deny that I only find NaruHina as a friendship relationship, but they still have a chance. And we dont know Sakura's feelings for Naruto and Sasuke in Part 2. You cant just jump to conclusions. We hope it is NaruSaku in the end, but doesn't mean thats whats going on. No other pairing besides AsumaxKurenai and ShikaTema has become canon, really.

I'm not sure that even Shikamaru/Temari and Asuma/Kurenai are canon, although they've been hinted at actually happening rather than just a future possibility.

lol. But yes, unfortunatly most fans seem to forget that pairings are just OPINIONS.
Personally I don't think you could call ANYTHING canon until the end of the series really or when the people oficially get together. (Although I'm not too much of a ShikaTema fan) We just have to sit and wait for the outcome, but people could still make their own predictions.

The thing is that Kishimoto has a lot of side characters with lots of potential yet he doesn't even try to focus on them since he tends to focus more on Team 7. This hurts the development these side characters could be given in order to have relationships and such.
Since Hinata for instance will NEVER be fleshed out due to her being so unimportant to the plot now it's quite obvious that she'll never get with Naruto.
But then again this also shows me that Kishimoto is a bad writer for not trying to develop his side characters as much as the main cast and here I remember we used to say how Kishimoto was a good writer. How the tables have turned.

Kishi's got lots of time to flesh out the side characters, from some interveiw (i think shonen jump) he said that he's only 2/5s done with the manga.

I'd have to agree with Gamerman and AnimeGirl, consideing the focus that Asuma is getting lately. Its quite possible that he's just waiting till its relevant to the plot to develop the characters.

Oh I understand this could just be leading up to Asuma's death, but he told Shikamaru that he'd understand someday so the odds are even if Asuma kicks the bucket well get Team Asuma development.

Except that Asuma's development is stuff we practically already knew so I wouldn't call it development. Maybe confirmation but not development.

There are times when I think he is a very good writer (Wave Country). There are times when I think he's awful (Rescue Gaara). And there are times when I think he is okay (currently). I won't get into to it right now, but I'm somewhat ambivilent about the current direction of the manga, there are things I find interesting, and there are things he is doing that well, I'm not sure I really like.

Besides during this training arc the main focus it's on Naruto in creating his own jutsu. Obviously we may see sight of Sakura & Sai until the monk, who witness Hidan & Kakuzu tredery in the temple, reports to Tsunade. From then on Team Kakashi (and maybe Team Asuma) will play a role in defeating our two comedian Akatsuki members.

ok the story revolves around team 7 no matter who's in it but the main character still being naruto of course.
