It was actually cool seeing they were both so bad off that Sasuke couldn't maintain his chidori just before Naruto tripped and lost his rasengan. I am curious to see if Sasuke suddenly has issues with the rinnegan again next chapter and if that plays a part in Naruto turning things around. There's just so many ways this fight could end it's too hard to speculate.

I was thinking that it was either a mistranslation, or Sakura was disoriented from being knocked out, so if there was no mistranslation, that means it was the latter right?

I don't think getting my face caved in by my supposed bffl is a fitting way to spend my birthday XD

I think Naruto will catch Sauske's Chidori in his bare right hand. That will be why his arm is bandaged. Maybe then he'll deliver a left hand upper cut like he did against Neji. Naruto is technically naturally stronger, but Sauske is using every dirty trick in the book to gain the upper hand. Naruto will win with guts and determination. The only way Naruto can keep Sauske from walking a path in the darkness is beating him and making him acknowledge that Naruto is stronger. Therefore, his path is right. He usually comes up with something creative, but I don't know what he can do with no chakra. I don't think Sakura will arrive until the fight is completely over. I would love it if the OVA scenario plays out. There might be a little TNJ action left, but I hope the fight is wrapped up next week. I really hope that Sakura has some sort of revelation moment. If not, I will be very disappointed. I hope that there is an actual epilogue too. I don't mind the Last being canon, but I want resolution to overall story in the manga.

This was a really good chapter! That hand-to-hand combat. That's exactly what I wanted. It was really cool, Naruto kicking Sasuke up into the air and everything, then Sasuke tearing off his bracelet thing to reveal a scroll that summons shuriken... That's sick.

It was hilarious when Naruto fell tbh. And Sasuke just like shifts backwards.

Then Sasuke kicking Naruto!! So cool. Lol, his posture when he kicks him away, priceless. Looks like he's kicking a soccer ball or something. I have to edit that.

Sasuke sounds really desperate.. "Just fall already!" "Just give up.." etc.. And when he's wailing on Naruto, it seems like he's really angry. Genuinely, as if Naruto did some unforgivable thing being his friend. The "wooohhh!!"s and his closed eyes when he's about to punch Naruto again, before headbutts him..

"With this, I will finally be alone." "My only friend." ... It can't be any clearer that Sakura doesn't mean anything to him. Of course, SS will say that Sakura's not his friend, she's his love or something like that but... Wouldn't you want someone to be friends first, before getting together? Shouldn't that be ideal? Even while they were in Team 7, they weren't friends? And that doesn't explain his "I will finally be alone" that he said in his mind.

Oh, and yeah, it's evening. First of all, Sakura said so, and when Naruto and Sasuke first clashed it was already at least mid-morning (you can see it in the colour pages of 695). So, they've been fighting for like, what, eighteen hours? They've gotta be damn exhausted. And Naruto has been fighting Sasuke for pretty much his entire birthday. Not exactly the best birthday I'd say, but at least he got to spend it with his BFF (and Minato did tell him happy birthday, but he also "died" again...)

I really wonder what'll happen at the beginning of next chapter. Some say Sakura could intervene, and that's possible, but it seems too far away.. And, I think if she and Kakashi (or just her) were headed there it would've been shown. Unless Kishi left it out so it would be more of a suprise, but that's not what he usually does. Like when Kakashi saved Sakura from Sasuke -- he was shown heading there. Same when Naruto saved her from Sasuke. And, I'd rather she not interfere tbh. This is Naruto and Sasuke's fight. Let them two settle it.

Otherwise, maybe a shadow clone will factor in somehow? Maybe it's a clone Sasuke is about to chidori, but with all those hits it should have disappeared by now. And you'd think Sasuke would see through it (like when Madara first showed up against Naruto and Kakashi and Gai, he noticed that the Naruto before him was a clone and asked where the real one is). But then again, his sharingan is switched off, or should be. Kishi randomly decided to draw it on again when Sasuke made the chidori on the final page. The page before it wasn't on. And it would be another parallel to the HashiMada fight, which this entire thing is a parallel to actually.

Or maybe Naruto has a shadow clone hidden elsewhere? Or he'll take the hit with his right arm (an explanation as to why Naruto has his arm wrapped up in The Last) and pull off some trick (as little as kicking him away maybe)? I really want to see how Naruto gets out of this!

Oh, and yes, it does seem like the OVA is playing out. Naruto and Sasuke fighting hand-to-hand, on the ground, in water. And Sakura's awake now. I sort of doubt it will happen though... At least it probably won't be exactly like in the OVA. Maybe something similar.

I don't really think who she heals first is a big deal pairing-wise. Even if she did love Sasuke, why heal the guy that's trying to kill all of you and take over the world before you heal the only guy that can stop him?

Yep, that's exactly why I don't want that type of scene. It's only logical that she should heal the good guy first, come on.

I don't think Sakura will interfere, but the fact she is awake, it only suggests that they will head over there or at least know the conclusion. They have to be there to see if Naruto and Sasuke settled it in a good term or bad term. Sakura knows that this rivalry has been on since that time and to see if Sasuke comes out alive and no Naruto, it will be bad, but if both of them lives, then they will know it's good. The thing is it's hard to tell if Naruto or Sasuke win at that area, because well, how can you tell? Bijuus aren't there anymore, so you only know that the moon is deactivated. They need to see Naruto and Sasuke alive in their own eyes, especially since Naruto can't stand anymore. If Naruto do take the hit and actually tank Chidori, then you know it's hard to tell if he wins or not if you're not there. So my guess is that they will go there, but it's a guess. Sakura can move. Kakashi, I don't know. But who knows.

 

Now, 19 pages can really cover the whole fight and most likely conversion of Sasuke. We left with the final blow so next couple of pages will show you the winner. Then the rest can be everything else. You could pull Shaman King, where the last chapter timeskip ahead, but reflects the second last chapter moments aftermath. I don't know but I feel like it can all end in the next chapter. I can be wrong, but we will see.

HOLY kitten THIS CHAPTER.

 

I take back what I said about this Naruto vs. Sasuke being anti-climatic. This chapter is was absolutely amazing. The raw emotion in Naruto and Sasuke shows through in every attack that was thrown. I loved the hand-to-hand combat, seeing them absolutely drained of chakra, and having to go back on ninja tools instead of the long range jutsu. All the Naruto battles recently have been severely lacking in the conflict and the feel of actual desperation; Naruto and Sasuke had just gotten too strong in comparison to every other character. This feeling of Naruto and Sasuke actually having to try more like this is very refreshing.

 

I'm still shocked at the imagery. Naruto and Sasuke, both completely bloodied with torn clothing, literally falling over themselves in exhaustion. Naruto in particular looks pretty rugged, it was actually a little disturbing seeing him so bloodied and bruised. I've never seen him look this bad. On a plus side, Naruto looked pretty hot in his fishnet shirt for a few panels  .

 

I'm not mad Naruto looks like he's losing. This is what I used to like about him. He would get thrown challenges and looked like he was totally going to lose, seeming the complete underdog only to come through at the very end through pure determination. It makes him more human, more inspiring. The Naruto as of late has been so strong I haven't felt that same amount of connection to him battle-wise. It's good to see him challenged again, even if it's to an extreme.

 

I knew Sakura would wake up. I also doubt Sakura is just gonna sit there while Naruto and Sasuke are meanwhile killing each other. It may not be her fight, but she'd be too emotional and worried to just sit while her teammates might possibly be dead. I predict Sakura insisting to find them no matter what. That flashback of her seeing the first Naruto and Sasuke fight was done for a reason. Kakashi will probably go with her reluctantly to keep on eye on her so she doesn't do a rehash of the Part 1 incident.

 

Sakura will probably have no fighting involvement in this. Naruto and Sasuke need to do this on his own: Naruto needs to win against Sasuke by himself once and for all. I agree with anyone who says he'll block Sasuke's chidori with his hand and that's what permanently damages it in The Last.

 

Sakura's involvement will probably come after the fight, OVA style. I think Naruto and Sasuke are going to be passed out and nearly dead when she gets there, but Naruto probably won the fight by then. I keep picturing a really powerful NaruSaku moment in here, making it close to canon. Seeing both Naruto and Sasuke like this might help Sakura realize her real feelings and see who she loves. Sakura will definitely be horrified to see Naruto in the sorry, half-dead state he's in now. His wounds are too brutal and raw in comparison to how he looked when he lost Kurama.

 

Most likely NaruSaku will be canon or helped to canon by OVA-ish moment, but it's not going to be exactly the same.

I know for certain that Sakura will still be sympathetic towards Sasuke if after she stops his thrust towards Naruto. But if we are going to be realistic with Kishi's story then it would be more of her reasoning Sasuke to stop because it isn't right for them to go against each other to that extent........especially if you call them your "Only" friend....

Kishi made it a point, after making that panel with Sasuke genjutsu stabbing Sakura, that if Sasuke were to be convinced and change his goal that Sakura wouldn't seem in a romantic light again. Kishi wouldn't have to go that far when it comes to those twos relationship unless he saw it as an foreseen conclusion.

Now with Naruto and Sasuke's fight nearing it's end, Sakura and Kakashi coming into the picture now is the best solution. Not only for Sakura's characters resolution to her feelings toward Sasuke but also for all of Team 7's resolution as whole.

All more then likely Sasuke would say the same thing he told naruto to her and Kakashi (yeah kakashi's there too ) that he needs to kill Naruto to achieve his future path, his requirement of him being alone. Knowing Sakura she would feel saddened by this to know Sasuke would go that far to be alone. She would go as far as to say that she was his "friend" too, so would he try to kill her as well?? Not sure what Sasuke's response to that would be but not saying anything and giving off that cold glare of his would be answer enough.

Now this is Naruto's fight...so to me in all likeliness Naruto would tell Sakura and Kakashi to step out of the way and let him finish it. Sakura and Kakashi are more then likely strongly disagree with him but he would block them and just look at Sasuke. The both of them look like they got enough in them for one last attack........so if it's going to finish......it's gonna finish with rasengan and Chidori. Naruto will likely suggest the idea to Sasuke and say that the last one standing would be the winner. Now with this Sakura will solely be looking towards Naruto and try to plead with him to stop.......but Naruto isn't backing down and will probably say something to her to convince her and give her a lithe comfort that this will all end in a good outcome.

If there's ever gonna be a NS moment to happen right now after recent events.......then the best we are gonna get is Sakura giving Naruto enough chakra to produce one more Rasengan. Reason why I say this is because Kurama tried to give him chakra when he was completely drained.....not enough to even make one more shadow clone like most people want naruto to do so he can do a Neji Uppercut. Sasuke stole what was about to be given to him and now has enough for himself to produce one more Chidori and leave Naruto with still Completey exhausted and out of gas. Sakura giving him chakra would not only help start the final rasengan and Chidori clash....but it would also complete Sakura's goal of her and Naruto together bringing Sasuke back.

I'm not gonna put shipping goggles for this one no matter how much I want to because this next chapter needs to realistic to kishi's mind as it can get and to me this is the best scenario to begin the end of everything. I know this all pure speculation on my part and nobody would even like this because they have their own views of what would happen......but I just had to put this out here :) lol sorry for going overboard
