Somewhat, but she did genuinely try to help, and he did at one point care about her as a teammate (though, yeah, that didn't last long at all). I think that the notion is a little far fetched myself, but it's one of the better counter arguments that I've run across, and it has some small merit behind it at the very least.

Small- but what derails it is that even in their first part 2 encounter in Grass Country he just looked at her coldly, no sense of any bond on his side, and acted to kill her the same way- the only word he addressed directly to was her name, and that was said with no emotion whatsoever. where with Naruto he spoke of their bond. If you look at the Iron Country arc, compare how he speaks to Karin about how his bond to her had interfered with his goal. To Sakura he is completely cold blooded in trying to kill her, there's no bond.

People speculate on what Sasuke's "thank you" was before he knocked Sakura out in part 1- to me it looked like he was dismissing the small team mate bond he had to her. It fits in perfectly with his other words in that scene. ie "Thanks for your bond, it was nice following along your and Naruto's path for a while, but my path isn't Naruto and yours, bye." Then it was out of sight, out of mind. She only figures vaguely as part of Team 7 in his memories once in part 2, nothing on her alone, in fact he lumps her in with everyone else in Konoha he hates in a generic way. Only Naruto and Karin merit a "my bond to you created an obstacle to my goal."

Regardless of Sasuke's future redemption/non-redemption and future relationship/non-relationship with Karin, I secretly want Sasuke to recognize Sakura. Actually, I'm rooting for it. Not for any sort of relationship, just so that she gets the acknowledgement she deserves. Naruto's always put her forward in Team 7, but Sasuke has never recognized her strength. He made one mention of her genjutsu abilities in Part 1, but that's it. So I'm hoping part of the end game will include Sakura being badass and Sasuke getting either beat up or saved by her (or both). But either way having to acknowledge her strength and that he was wrong for dismissing her out-of-hand all these years.

I agree with Ciardha- I don't think Sakura and Sasuke ever really "bonded"- it was more or less a teammate bond. The final 'thank you' was significant, I feel, only because it was a representation of what Sasuke was leaving behind. It was a sort of 'Thank you for giving me good memories' type of thank you. But that's just my opinion. (I'm speaking for Sasuke- Sakura was infatuated with Sasuke so I guess you could say it was a one-sided bond on her part).

And Tricksie, I agree, I want Sasuke or even just other enemies to acknowledge Sakura's strength, just how Sasori acknowledged that Sakura was "a brat to be reckoned with." Haha I loved that chapter

As seen from my previous post, I can laugh really hard at there comments. My feelings can range for amusement to annoyance to anger. I don't always respond ot them when I'm angry either I do though I try and control myself over the internet . Youre not alone. I myself get really annoyed with the number of NaruHina and SasuSaku fans/fanart I've seen. It really is tiring to me, epsecially when I don't understand WHY those two pairings are so loved and NaruSaku that is such a great, compatible pairings, isn't nearly as popular . I hope it does get more popualr though

I saw that...I think my biggest issue is when I look NaruSaku up on Google, I still somehow find NaruHina ans SasuSaku images. There's a good motivational poster I found complaining about this on deviantART, but I can't seem to locate it. Either way though, what we lack in quantity, we gain in quality, as there are some great and I mean great NaruSaku artist out there, kind like us NaruSaku fans, while we don't make up the biggest majority, we more then make up for with our common sense and knowledge of the manga

On that front Zabuza acknowleged Sakura's growth at the beginning of the War arc, and Zetsu acknowledged her as well in the War arc. I guess the fact Sasuke sees Sakura as enough of a threat that he immediately goes for the kill is a kind of acknowledgement- he knows she's strong enough to be a threat. The contempt has shifted to Kakashi now, he stood there and mocked him in Iron Country, didn't take him seriously as an opponent at all.

But yeah, Triskie, I'd like to see Sasuke at the end acknowledge Sakura as a ninja. Respect her as a full member of Team 7.

I think thats kind of far fetched. Shes the main heroine for a reason. Her role in the story has nothing at all to do with her love for Sasuke.

I really get the impression that Sasuke is a little whiny kid who decides to kill people instead of crying. Most of his motivations come from a false sense of pride and (more than he realizes) jealousy. It's well noted that Sasuke has an inferiority complex. To 'treat' it, he puts himself in a superiority delusion. That can be seen throughout. From the forest of death to his departure to now. He may have intended to have different reasons for his actions, but it is actually greatly influenced by extreme pride and therefore jealousy.

He decides to fight Naruto when he sees that he's being left behind. In part 2, he outright decides to kill Naruto, Kakashi etc. just because they can kick his sorry ass to oblivion. Okay, that last one may have come out quite explicitly, but it's the truth. It's the same thing with Danzo and Konoha. The only reason he wants to destroy them is because of Uchiha pride and his sense of superiority to everyone. EVERYONE.

Yeah. It makes sense, I guess. He'll have to kill Naruto before he can lay a hand on Konoha anyway. Plus the fact that it gives Kishimoto the perfect opportunity for his redemption.

Wowowwow a guy leaves the forums for a few months and there is a new debate thread. So you guys are talking about Sasuke right? Well if you ask me I think that Sasuke is like a boy on a period. I actually thought that When Itachi came and saw Sasuke again he would quit his hunt for everyone in Konoha. It still makes me mad to day that he went to kill his brother then when his brother died he is quick to change after hearing Madara's story and feels the need to blame Konoha. I say he should have just killed Danzo and then problem solved.

Besides that something i really want to see again is Sakura fighting someone important in the war. Kishi needs to have her in a fight just like the one against Sasori. She was on fire woooohooo

There are some really great NaruSaku artists out there, definitely . I think I remember one named LadyGT who is a NaruSaku fan and her drawings like almost exactly like the anime .Yes our pairing truly have quality. When NaruSaku becomes canon, NaruHina/SasuSaku can have their fanfiction and their fanart and their doujinshis . But what WE have is all that plus the manga and anime . In the end, we win. No matter how upset they will be, will have the satisfaction of knowing that are favorite couple is canon

When NaruSaku becomes canon, NaruHina/SasuSaku can have their fanfiction and their fanart and their doujinshis . But what WE have is all that plus the manga and anime . In the end, we win. The Lady as I call her, yeah I've drawn NaruSaku stuff too, but it's way far from her outstanding calibur. Our quality far outnumbers the other groups

Wow i saw the pics by LadyGt and I was totally awestruck! Those images were so nice I truly wish that we get to see some moment like this in the manga which will also shut up the NH/SS fans for good! They are just so crazy going after pairings which were, are and will be no more than nuisance!

She is really good. I always enjoy her pictures. The fact that you can mistake it from the anime is saying something on how good she is I wish I could draw like that . I'm still learning how to draw Naruto characters. I'm still a beginner XD. Exactly. SS and NH fanfiction is hard to find being good, especially SasuSaku which needs almost complete out of characterness to make it work. I don't like reading their fanfictions personally. Besides the fact that I hate both couples, it's just so unrealistic and as you say forced. When I read NaruSaku fanficiton 9/10 times NaruSaku better. More in character and realistic(Though that's not completely true. I've read some pretty bad NaruSaku fanfics ). Believe it or not, I feel sorry for them too. Not the bashing, crazy ones that I've seen a lot but the more quietier and nice fans. It isn't a good feeling when the pairing you love doesn't happen so I won't be totally unsympathic.

Despite my sympathy, I still know I'll come off as a little smug when NaruSaku happens .

i'll tell you why there are many of NH fans thinks that way and it's about the interview thing, it seems that a lot of NH fans are positive about what they say and what they think just because kishi said that he will make NH happen which i and many many many don't believe it at all and thare is the confession that hinata made it to naruto that naruto will love her (yea there are some of them that still think like that) and to tell you the truth but there are many of them who have already distinguish the real deal and i'll give you an example that i hear it in my very own ears, like my friend, she is a NH shipper but she admitted that it won't happen and NS will happen

Ur friend have really got a good brain if she has realised NH can't happen and will be not sensible also! I hope u acknowledged ur friend for his/her realisation!

Why can't every SS/NH fan see that when/if their pairing happens it will only be faulty writing, because only NS makes sense and it will continue to make sense, and hopefully also become canon!

Stretching a bit due to such imagery being very prominent in the manga and throughout the story.

though on the other hand Kishimoto sensei is also known to use such imagery to presage or use as hint to future actions or character development so who knows?
