Just curious about what people think on this.
Will Kishi end the love triangle before Naruto faces Sasuke, or do you think it will happen after?
He could easily go either way, but what I'm hoping to see happen is have Naruto and Sakura talk right before his final confrontation with Sasuke, and this conversation will be the set up for the stuff that happens after the fight with Sasuke.
I'd love for Naruto to think of what Itachi told him about Minato succeeding because he had Kushina by his side to support him, and apply it to Sakura being by his side.
Hmm, this has sort of bugged me, but I guess Naruto's comment about the POAL in 470 was a little odd. He said, only a few chapters earlier, that he couldn't tell Sakura about his feelings due to a 'promise' he couldn't keep. Then, in 470, he says his desire to save Sasuke isn't tied to that promise, at least not exclusively. I guess the way I took it is that the POAL isn't dead, but it's sort of serving a different purpose now.
Naruto never discarded the promise or said that it didn't mean anything to him anymore or the like. As Red Delicious said, the POAL is separate from his desire to save Sasuke. The POAL had everything to do with his feelings for Sakura, and acknowledging Sakura's feelings for Sasuke. He was already going to save Sasuke before that, so we already knew saving Sasuke didn't hinge on the promise.
It is Naruto's feelings for Sakura that revolve around the promise, not his feelings for Sasuke. And all Naruto essentially said was that regardless of the promise, he'd still want to save Sasuke.
Sakura : "You don't know anything! I don't care about Sasuke at all anymore now that he's a criminal! So
forget about your promise to me!"
Naruto : "
This isn't about that promise." [insert flashback about the truth regarding Itachi & Kakashi stopping him from telling the group] "
It doesn't have anything to do with my promise to you."
I've seen this argument around everywhere, so please, someone point out to me where Naruto is supposedly discarding, demeaning, or lessening the importance of the POAL, because I'm just not seeing it at all.

To be honest, I don't think it needs to happen at all. Hinata might be a fan-favorite, but a love rejection doesn't really seem like Kishi's style. The only sort of rejection I can see Naruto giving Hinata would be something along the lines of, "I'll never be to return your feelings." or "I'm in love with someone else", and that just feels sort of fan-ficish to me. From where I see it, Hinata's confession was a way to tie up a loose end on her character. If her confession warranted a response, I'm guessing it happened (or will happen) off-panel, or Hinata's reaction to Sakura's hug in 450 was enough to show us that Hinata already understands the bond the two share. But we'll see.
I honestly believe that Naruto and Hinata talked during the time that off paneled in between 450 and 451. Naruto probably stumbled over his words, and Hinata probably said something along the lines of knowing Naruto is in love with Sakura. So it wouldn't actually be a rejection, just an acknowledgment on Hinata's part of Naruto's feelings. It could be flashbacked to, but I think it's more likely this chat will just be brought up in a future conversation to let the reader know it was taken care of.
Though I personally agree that Hinata's reaction in 450 could serve as enough closure for her character, as well as enough of an answer from Naruto.
