I'll judge the credibility and success of Naruto at its current standing by the amount of people who choose to tune in for the spin-off and purchase tickets for the movie. Anyone who is truly disheartened or disinclined from continuing to support the series will not indulge their desperate cash-grab attempt.

That's what I was thinking. The pool of satisfied Sakura fans has got to be very small. If they Sakura now it's only because she's with Sasuke. So it's a bit of self-insert Sasuke worship, not actual liking Sakura as a character. Before the travesty of an ending, I don't think it would be unreasonable to expect that Naruto fans would buy the novels regardless of the content. But now, because of what they've done to her character, who would buy it? Her role has been practically erased in the series. NH fans won't buy it. General Naruto fans who are only lukewarm about Sakura won't buy it. Only SS fans will buy it. And since SS is the ship with ZERO development, it makes no sense for them to actually stick around to buy a novel after-the-fact. 

 

It speaks volumes that they've moved up the release date on the novel. It means that they realize they've killed Sakura's popularity. Maybe they were hoping to keep people interested in the novels with the Sakura one hanging at the end like a dangling carrot. But the change in dates can only mean the novels are not selling nearly as well as expected. New strategy, get the most popular characters out first. The numbers must show that the whole thing is sinking fast.

 

Tell me about it, Tricksie, it's one of the most desperate tricks ever. Of all time. It just shows they want to try to get NS fans too who are still pissed about the choices made by Studio Pierrot

So I've been hearing alot bout this new manga called Black Clover which people are saying has alot of similarities to Naruto more than Boku No Hero Academia had. There is only 1 chapter releasd and the only way to read it for free is through youtube. 
 
my thoughts on chapter 1: it's okay at best.
 

The guy might be trying to find what made it successful by copying something that was spread worldwide, rather than trying to be creative. Hungry Joker was a flop, so I guess he's trying this out.

And I wonder why? Hungry Joker was ok, not as good as it's one shot, but still, it had some good things, this new story is more like Naruto without flaws, lol

HJ was ok, I guess, but Japan at the time got too many others, let alone popular and more than ok series.

It's really perplexing. Did Kishi and those around him drastically overestimate the popularity of Naruto down the home stretch? I can't imagine anyone really wanting to buy these novels, especially the Sakura ones. Or are we misjudging the popularity because we're all "salty" NS fans here?

 

Yes, it makes me wonder whether the left hand knew what the right was doing. They decided to end the series and commit to a movie that nailed down the pairings that had been the steady undercurrent driving the series on...theeennn they announce they're continuing the series and try to lure back all the fans they have completely alienated. They intentionally destroy half the fan-base with a horrendous bait and switch, then try to push on with the series. Not even the franchise, the actual series. They're still trying to tell the story of what happens to the characters. After you've given away the wretched ending, who's going to stick around to care what happens next? Are they crazy? Like I said, it feels like different people/groups were making opposite decisions.

Yes, I think it will be a steady downward spiral for the series. I think the mini-series with Bolt will hold its own for a little while — it's too short to become a target for the hatred it would accumulate if it was slated as a several-year series — but the rest of the franchise will continue to go down. They may be hoping the Bolt/Naruto/Sasuke movie slated for the end of summer will either anchor the Bolt series or be the true finale to the franchise. But yes, I think the success should be measured by how fast the spin-off measures sink. RtN still stands as the high-water-mark for the franchise in terms of popularity and money earned in relation to money put out.

Yes it absolutely defies logic to think that the NS fans they manipulated with their 'red herrings' and misdirects would then stick around to see what happens next. The fans that they used to suspense in the end of the manga are the same ones who've lost interest in the series once it became apparent they were being screwed over. Why would they think we'd come back now?!?

Exactly what I was thinking for sure. =/ I know I wouldn't follow this BS whatsoever, considering that it's BS what they did, since they're the ones really responsible for The Last, 699 and 700, as well as this stuff with Bolt, which is REALLY pathetic for them to try to learn the NS people back just to get the real most popular pairing to my knowledge back on board for fandom's sake.

Naruto insulting Tsunade saying that she's not fit to be Hokage bc she's a Drunken Alcoholic and a Gambler addict and Kakashi should take over despite not wanting to and being forced bc of Nardo and The Coolest Guy Ever . But Yep that's our Naruto  . They made him even more despicable then he was in the Last kitten , Its a total annihilation and butchering of his character its like they are making a contest between Naruto and Sakura for who got destroyed more      .  Can't wait to see them do even far worse with the Sakura Novel its gonna be magnificent       .

Funny how Hinata has nothing to worry about except two to three parts but emotional investment, she got none. No wondering why Naruto care about Gaara so much, no inner struggle to keep it up in strength, no concern about Jiraiya's death, nothing. She waited until the series ended so she can easily get it.

You know what people barely say nowadays? Naruto is trying to copy Bleach...such as the Last with Orihime going to Huenco Mundo (I will misspell everything because the names are long and I don't remember them) her trying to destroy that cube thing, the Aizen and Madara thing in the manga and etc lol Especially the Last having Hinata be more like Orihime but failed because Orihime actually had character and cared for more than one person plus actually had some sort of bond with Ulquiorra as shown when he turning into ash
