Obviously Kishimoto didn't read past the cover page, he didn't establish his audience too well, he didn't have much of a paradigm, there were no compelling characters in the end, and there was no multi-layered plot

Give them advice, to read manga, not fanfics.
Come to think of it, why did Tobi want to have a war with them?
Because it was needed for story.
Well technically you just got Madara and Kabuto. And Sasuke, but intertwined with Madara. Anyway, it was going to be straightforward. But then war spreads, Orochimaru to do...nothing, Kabuto switched asap thanks to Uchiha, many dead returned, yeah, it could have been simple.
Tobi, Kabuto, mistreious 6th coffin, Killer Bee missing. Taka is out.

If it ended at Pain Arc, there wouldn't be a 6th coffin. Ah...
But realistically speaking, what I truly mean is that Pain Arc was the final arc that made sense (minus ending). Then, brand new plot! Let's bring back love triangle!
