One think I do when I see a new anime is checking it in a AVM video, it looks fine will be in my list.

 

By way have read Ore monogatari manga?

Sukitte ii na yo is really short ! only 13 episodes ! All I needed was a day to finish viewing it (instead of studying x) ) 

Nupe, not yet !  I'll be on holidays in a few days, then I'll decide what to watch and read !   Can't wait !

Oh, Say "I Love You" ! It's one of those popular shoujo mangas I've heard of for a long time but never picked up for some reason (the other one being Kimi ni Todoke). I might check the anime out. I heard that the male MC Yamato is completely different in the manga though (like, he's an actual perv XD).

Have you heard of Akatsuki no Yona? It's currently my favorite ongoing shoujo manga. Wonderful art (beats the living kitten out of some of the ongoing shoujo mangas right now), beast main heroine, wonderful cast, great comedy, and an anime adaptation by Studio Pierrot that was actually very satisfying XD Highly recommended to those who look for independent and stong female MC!

seriously... the manga and the anime are totally different its like the Yamato we watch in anime is the opposite of the Yamato who is in the manga.. yamoto is really a pervert but in the anime he is really kind and innocent type... woah there..! they have changed the whole personality!

Also, Say "I Love You" actually as some smut scenes, but I heard the anime left it out... So yeah XD

I love Akatsuki no Yona. For once, Studio Pierrot did justice to a manga, by adapting every freaking panel, detail, joke etc. The series is not appreciated enough in Japan though if you ask me

I'm watching and reading Shokugeki no Soma. I caught up in two days, lol. It's very entertaining and has an overall well-rounded cast. Some flaws in storytelling here and there, but not too much to complain about (at least for me). Though I will say that this manga heavily relies on the use of ecchi for its foodgasm scenes, I would never start with the anime if I were unfamiliar or repulsed by that genre. The beginning of the anime really drove me of, and I was about to drop it. Way too much ecchi if you ask me. The manga is a lot better in that sense that it's just one page. Also, the foodgasms evolve as time goes on.and become more creative/borderline bizarre XD (so other things than nude people).

Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso- never watched but I'm planning to. For all the shoujo feels you get when looking at it, it's actually a shounen series XD It's supposed to be very, very good that will leave you in tears towards the end

I watched the first episode of Akatsuki no Yona ! When I saw Soo-Won, he reminded me of Griffith from Berserk, and thought "this guy is too nice to be a good guy, he'll surely do something bad to her"....And I was right  ! haha 

I'm surprised to see how much the animation is good ! Coming from SP, it's a high quality animation !  It's surprising since it's not as popular as Naruto... I'll never understand their way of thinking...

 

Eeehhh So Yamato is a 'pervert'...hmmmm...so, he's like half of male characters in shojo mangas...I'm kinda disappointed ! Not that it bothers me, but, Idk, the Yamato from the anime seems to be better ! Maybe they had to cut that part of him because of the short number of episodes...hum nupe,nvm,  it doesn't make sense ! x) 

 

Soooo Shokugeki no soma is an ecchi...don't like ecchis, especially after seeing "School days", this anime was so bad...worst manga I've ever seen (after Naruto eheh ) 

 

So Shigatsu kimi no usa is a shonen ! :o It's kinda confusing to see some manga about romance being called "shonen", what's the difference between the two kind of romance in shonen and shojo ?

Lol, good guess XD (it was kind of obvious, so yeah). I will say that in the beginning Akatsuki no Yona felt like a generic "girl tries to reclaim her kingdom" type story. Uhuh, I was so wrong. Yona undergoes fantastic character development, and the romance b/w Yona and Son Hak has a realistic and subtle pacing so that it doesn't undermine the overall story progression. And I love the cast. Not only are they all bishounen boys (gotta satisfy the girls ) but dynamic b/w Yona and her growing cast is incredibly fun to watch at XD

 

I will ask you this: Why did you watch School Days in the first place XD? I became interested after the people on this forum mentioned this. One of the worst anime-related decisions ever -.- Ecchi is least problem with this show tbh. And to all the people who call this anime a deconstruction of the harem genre: That compliment isn't justified at all.

 

Shokugeki no Soma is ecchi, but it doesn't bug me anymore tbh. I just enjoy it for the food and interesting High School setting.

 

No idea about Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso The mangaka is female though as far as I know of, and the MC is a guy.
