I did. It's nothing essential to TG, but a very interesting insight into Arima's past. The art is very simple, and there are only seven chapters.

Sounds scary
The first episode gives you that impression, but after a while you get used to the creepy creatures. I think if you can watch AoT and read mangas such TG, Parasyte is not going to be a huge challenge.
It's a very psychologically intriguing anime to me. While mystery is not a big part of the anime, you get to see how the Parasytes that take over the humans' brains try to integrate themselves among the human society. Initially they feed on humans (where do I know that from, hmm), but later on they realize that this kind of ravenous behavior hinders them from hiding their identities.
The main character is also gradually and subtly becoming less emotionless, while his Parasyte Migi on the right hand is learning to sympathize a little bit more.
But imao, that scariness was the exact reason why I stayed away from it first.
