You could say she was hurt by her own words because it could be the fact that her words are something that she would like to say but it's not going to happen. Maybe ever, but we'll see. It's like how Tsunade believed that Jiraiya will come home safe because she bet that he will die, but you can tell her face that she's very worried that he may die after all. So in this case, she lied because she knows herself that Sasuke is not to be trusted at all, so she's ready. I can't debate why she lied to Sasuke but maybe we'll get more in the next chapter.

Because it's two different things she did wanted to believe that Jiraiya would come back alive because Jiraiya pratically went on a suicide mission which even Naruto said that, but in the end she knew Jiraiya would die, it's slight different than now, because it's not the fact that she doesnt trust Sasuke but rather the fact a fight between him and Naruto is inevitable.

The good thing is that Naruto changed and even if Sasuek dies he will still going to be kage.

 

Naruto wants to be kage, Sasuke wants to be kage = fight inevitable.

Naruto wants to save the juubi, Sasuke wants to kill it - fight inevitable.

Sasuke is untrustworthy and may come with a plan - fight inevitable.

I would agree with you, but it has been hinted that Sakura has some romantic feelings for Naruto. The only way he is 2nd best in my eyes is if Sasuke is good in the end and still rejects Sakura, so she just decides to go after Naruto. Choosing to defend/protect him from Sasuke would not make Naruto a silver medal.

Hm, that's possible. I do wonder if the talk will go on longer. I don't know if it will, because right now, they're just covering. I think all in all, she just lied about it. The main problem is that Sasuke has no intention to make everything ok for anyone who is down, so he's all on his own doing elimination round to make sure nothing will repeat. Do anyone want the talk to continue or best to keep it the way it is?

I know that the answer for it all will be on next chapter, Sai can even confront Sakura about her feelings for Sasuke or whatever but i cant deny the fact that kishi open a road for Sasuke to die.

He said that people who dont change die, Jiraiya died but before he did that, Jiraiya told to Naruto to forget about Sasuke but he didnt, kept with the same Jiraiya's mindset about Orochimaru until Naruto met Itachi and told him that you only become kage though acknowledgement so even Sasuke dies Naruto will still keep on wanting to be kage.

Sakura could get over from Sasuke before the redemption thing(which she's still the same even after the powerup), but cant deny is that no one wants him back to the village, i feel that Sasuke is passing though the same thing that Madara had, no one acknowledges him and i think he noticed that already so he maybe thinking about taking drastic measures like Madara.

Also i dont think Sasuke had time to plan something because not even Juugo knows about this.

As I said many times before, if this Kishi's way to close SS, now it's the time. She got the physical development down, now she needs an emotional development. I think before this volume ends, all members in Team 7 will close something that needed to be close already and Sakura could be one of them. I think we are going back to Kakashi because he is Team 7 and we will get something out of him before this volume ends.

As for Naruto, well, hard to say for now. If it wasn't for the last arc, I would have say he will enter a phase where the world believe Sasuke should die but he's undecided because he don't want to kill him for various reasons. Think as Avatar in the final four. Pretty much the last arc already gave you that answer. Then again, he can go through this again, but in much bigger details like the whole K9 will know about it. But who knows, soon it will be all clear. At least that's what I'm hoping.

I dont think that the world will want Sasuke's death, it's getting more obvious that he will become a traveler or etc...

After all the bad things he will have ot pay for that, ofc people can argue that he gie a great help to the alliance after all but doesnt change the way that the people see Sasuke, Sasuek tried to kill Sakura and he didnt apologized rather when he came back he make demands like "i'll be kage and deal with it", so he pretty much discarded everyone on a moment where he could apologize like he did with Karin.

It's more like people starting to hate Sasuek and i feel that Sai does hate Sasuke, and also the others aside from Ino, Naruto and Sakura the rest pretty much hates Sasuke.

They never liked Sasuke to begin wiht and he didnt make a good bond with them rest of the k11 that's pretty much when they came to rescue Sasuke they were doing that for Naruto's sake than to save Sasuke.

I'm not saying the world really wants him dead but you get what I'm trying to say. They want justice and this "criminal" needs to get that. If Sasuke does do something bad one more time, in war no less, the world won't accept him anymore. It's like Madara only the conclusion will be different.

What choice does she have?

Do people really consider her siding with Sasuke?, it's doenst make sense, people really overthink about her smile, she was just lying whne in the end she was just hiding from the others that she doesnt trust Sasuke  and it's more obvious to think she could be sad because they will fight against each other, she doesnt have any choices to make like Naruto or Sasuke.

It's like James also said, people do overthink about scenes that are clear and obvious, just like when Naruto said that Sakura was his girlfriend.

Well, I wouldn't think that way. I said she's smiling through pain because Team 7 just can't have those happy days forever because Sasuke is clearly on the other side. Well, his own side. Is it possible that there's more than that? Possibly, but for now, we know she lied and that's not good.

I agree hell she made this change in part 1 during the POAL. by the time she walked out of that hospital room with Narutos promise renewed the balance of feelings from Sasuke to Naruto had been shifted completely.

 

Still knowing the choice and living with it are 2 different things.

Guess with the last 2 chapters this week and first week of july, well we will most likely get no chapter on the 10th. Since the anime is not going to air a new episode that week.

 

Its a bit likely its a vacation week for the staff also due to how this volume will be done on the 3rd of july. Kinda a good time to end it too. Well that leaves the rest of summer to get through the majority of volume 67.

I think what happened in 635 is really interesting.

We have a Sakura that obviously doesn't trust Sasuke anymore.

 

It's really important because she trusted him for a long time (like Naruto),even after he went "bad".

I know pretty well Sasuke was never truly bad, because Kishi always made us thought that Sasuke was a victim and was suffering a lot, and that he was 'just' reacting to what he was feeling, all this suffering.

She and Naruto always kept a space to have faith in Sasuke, because he was good before. Yes Sasuke is egocentric, but he still is a good person, and Sakura and Naruto know that pretty well.

 

So Naruto and Sakura trusted him, always. He was their friend. They never wanted to "abandon" him. Not trusting him would have been equal to abandon him.

 

Maybe things are going to change. Orochimaru himself warned us lol.

I think it's a really important thing.

Sakura doesn't trust Sasuke anymore, she knows that he is uncontrollable.

I think she don't want him to go against Naruto. Because she wants the same things as Naruto.

I think Naruto will not trust Sasuke any longer.

Back in the snow arc, he was already in big doubt about Sasuke, and he said he didn't understand him anymore.

Now it's time to maybe see Naruto that will not trust Sasuke.

 

In the next chapters, we might have a Naru/Saku rebellion against Sasuke for the "first" time (i will always remember and cherish that time back in the forest when Sakura yelled at Sasuke for not being like Naruto. This was gold).

I know it's war, and i know they can't fight with Sasuke now, because there are priorities and now they must team up to succeed. But Sakura and Naruto may yell at Sasuke. And i will love it.

I have always read it as Sasuke making all the wrong choices and using all the other crap as an excuse to why he needed to do so...

Sasuke is responsible for his actions, that much I can say. He is very spoiled though, he had everything and now he thinks he can just do and get what he wants.

 

He's not a good person, he never was. The kindest thing he had ever done was to thank Sakura for everything and that's saying something.

 

Sasuke kills anyone who gets in his way without remorse. It started out with just killing Itachi, but as the first kill is the most difficult, he is now immune to the bad feeling in the gut.

I think Kishi never made any character really bad.

He always gave them a sad and hurting past.

And he let us guess that Naruto will be the one that always forgive those "bad" persons in order to have peace.

Naruto is the cure for the suffering.

 

I personally hate Sasuke for all that he represents, and my personal opinion about Sasuke is the same as you Sushi.

But i think Kishimoto wants us to see him as a guy who is suffering a lot and making wrong choices. Like Obito, like Orochimaru, like Nagato..... etc

I have to disagree with this notion. Yes, it is true that for the majority of the manga Sasuke has gone about his way attempting to murder others whilst leaving desolation and suffering in his wake of those who happened to encounter him at the end of a blade but there was a time when he was still part of Team 7 during the middle of P1 where he actually appeared to be changing for the better. Originally as he joined he remained distant from the others and fixated on his personal ambitions but over time he came to see them as his family.

Poor Sasuke is not responsible for backstabing everyone and their grandmothers even people who supported him .  Tough compared to Obito Sasuke is an example of sanity, moral of the story whatever happens never let Rin die or an Uchiha lose someone close to him otherwise you open the gates of hell that's the only point I have learned ; Kishi's pseudo philosophical message is a joke at best, lot of good ideas terrible execution but I guess it's not an easy task to write a weekly manga in the end you end up contradicting yourself very often. Whatever moral message Kishi is trying to convey it has been lost a long time ago I have stopped trying to make sense of it. Just go with the flow is my new motto when it comes to Naruto.

My idea lol no, never it's something that I have seen floating a lot in the Naruto fandom, from Kishi's perspective Sasuke's turn to evil is both his own fault and a result of his environement.

Sasuke descending to evil is caused by his decision and indirectly by the environment(Konoha massacre). That doesn't make Sasuke not responsible for his actions though.
